Just to give a heads up... on KerrangRadio 105.2 after 10pm. Nick Margerrison will be interviewing someone called 'Marcel Just' about computers that can scan minds.

HERES (http://www.nowpublic.com/technology/researchers-carnegie-mellon-university-one-step-closer-mind-reading-scanner) a little info on the subject by the same professor.

Oh yea, I recently read about a monkey they had attached something to on its head. The monkey was in the US, and a robot monkey was in Japan. When the monkey made the robot monkey move, they applauded or rewarded the monkey. The monkey could see the robot monkey in Japan on a monitor, and after a while of testing, the monkey was able to control the robot monkey without moving itself around at the same time.

I guess I read it on this forum somewhere, but im not certain. Many places are developing mind reading equipment all over the world. It is only a matter of time that the next Nintendo, playstation or gamecube controller will be one that is controlled with our mind instead of our hands and body. The Wii revolution of sorts will fade in comparisson to when that happens :)

Not done yet, but bionic eyes, bringing back sight to the blind.

Some of the ealier reseach done in this area:

Dates all the way back to 1929

Complete prostetic android bodies might be the final step of this technology. Chip implants in us all. At first all those who wants an arm back, an eye, leg or whatever will need a chip, then later we will probably all need this chip because if we dont get one, we wont be able to get a job most places, might be required for identification or to acces places, might replace our passport.

Of course there are many very very cool upsides to these downsides, and I have a feeling that we will wake up before we allow ourselves to be chipped on global scale.
