Did anyone here read the article about the "counterfeit" American Dollars that have been confiscated around the globe? I think the CIA or FBI snaggled up about 50 million dollars of what they're calling Super Notes or something to that effect since the late 80s.

They said that this money is so close to real printed money that only the mint itself could have printed it, or that if someone else did, it would cost about as much to produce and update as the amount that has been seized thus far!
Also, within these bills, all of the security features were present, with minor messages and hints embedded within to show their individuality and difference from official bills, almost like they're mocking whomever they are trying to beat.
Either way, if this problem gains steam, which it very well could, I can foresee this being a reason to destroy cash altogether and make all of our money digital, furthering the process that would call for RFID banking and money transfers. Without cash, a lot of money exchange can't happen!
At the same time, however, the argument would be that this isn't such a bad thing and that our freedoms wouldn't be hampered. Private monetary exchange could still take place via sites like paypal. Also, burglars would be less inclined to steal as cash would be valueless and you wouldn't be able to take someone's digital money.
The arguments exist for both sides, but these supernotes and their presence in the world only make a case for getting rid of paper money, which bugs me to a degree when you think about what the digital age really means.
