I was actually going to mention a similar thing on the thread of the thread that got locked...
You know, a gun is a tool and weapon, just like a hoe is to the soil and a hammer to the nail. I understand that this is a forum where many people can be sensitive about the imagery and opinions posted on the said thread, but stereotyping others just because of it is not much different from the spinners up there in Parliament trying to nanny every sodding idea that is controversial.

Anyway in the very unlikely and fictional event of apocalypse where survivors would be subject to hostility they would be using spudguns and pumpkin cannons.

I like gunns but i dont want to shoot anyone.When i was a kid most of my friends carried a knife we even took them to school to play with hmm and odley no one ever got stabed or even scratched.After school we might go shooting with our air rifles but no one ever got shot.We never used them to imatate fighting or any thing of the sort, they was just handy to have for cutting things and playing with. So why have things changed, alot of us seem to live in fear which is fed by the media, but now that fear seems to have spread into action with our youth. Its dam strange times and for some reason our youth of today (not all ) seem to be paranoid and hell bent on gaining RESPECT with a weapon.Lets face it shoot some one and everyone ellse that knows will not dare give you grief. Its all fucked up and for some reason we have kids with gunns in the streets.
anyways i love gunns and think used properly there good funn and personaly think that if we gave our kids some kind of gunn educaton they would realise the dangers and never abuse or use them in anger.

if it wasnt for our early primate ancestors arming themselves with simple tools we would never been able to hunt and become the self reflecting creature we are today (no bad thing maybe!) my point is weaponry has always been vital for our survival......of course most people dont have to face wild beests every day however i know if and when the shit hits the fan us brits are up the creek without a paddle whereas our american counterparts will be able to offer some resistance. im not saying im pro gun......but im not anti either.
