I'm a 19 year old male, with a history of listening to loud music.
My dad has tenitis (sp), ringing in the ears.
But it was my understanding that tenitis is in both ears right?
I have ringing in only my left ear, and it changes quite a bit.
Sometimes it's barely noticeable, sometimes it's crippling.
I've read into it some and sometimes it's the early sign of a brain tumor? And sometimes it's a blood vessel pushing up against the ear?
Can anyone help me out?

If it is 'crippling' you should go and see an ENT specialist. don't risk losing what you have.

Tinnitus can occur in one or both ears.
Stop listening to music at high volumes and/or use earplugs properly.

Tinnitus. You can get it in one, both and 'in the head' or all three.
Sounds like noise induced. Its not an early sign of a brain tumor.
Sorry, but your doctor will tell you you will have to learn to live with it, and he or she is right.
Stop listening to loud music.
