Oxford Mosque Broadcasts

I used to live just around the corner from this mosque. It's a beautiful building; nicely-designed, not an eyesore at all.

Personally it wouldn't bother me if they broadcast calls to prayer; in fact it would give East Oxford and Cowley Road a hint of Eastern Promise! In return I ask that the Muslims don't object to the ringing of church bells.

However if the local residents don't want it then their views must prevail.

This news report is actually misleading. The mosque is not "central Oxford", the place where the tourists come to see the "City of Dreaming Spires", it's in East Oxford, a district a mile outside the city centre.
