View Full Version : Are the Celestine Prophecy books fact or fiction?
"The Celestine Prophecy contains secrets that are currently changing our world. Drawing on the ancient wisdom found in a Peruvian manuscript, it tells you how to make connections between the events happening in your own life right now…and lets you see what is going to happen to you in the years to come!" With a write up like that, what is the average person to think? Is this stuff for real or fiction?

I love that book, read it last summer, i bought the 10th insight off ebay but never got round to reading it!
Just lent out the Celestine Prohecy again the other day, that book just gets passed on and on and on!!! :D
Watched the film of it a few months ago too- not half as good but it gave the general jist! There's definately truth to it from my perspective, ive experienced it, not seeing energies as such but definately feeling it and watching how people operate, i cant remember the 'personality types' again....can anyone else? aloof, victim, aggressor??
have you read it nuit? :)

yes and have just recieved the 10th insight plus the celestine prophecy dvd of a good friend of mine for an christmas present.
I find it interesting how these insights were recorded almost 6000 years before the bible was written.

I read The Celestine Prophecy a few years back now and really enjoyed it. The book came to me through a few synchronistic events, which added to my enthusiasm when reading it as the first few chapters focuses on synchronicity.
I must say that this book was instrumental in me searching out the true nature of reality, it came along just at the right time and did help me broaden my horizons at a time when I was a mere sheeple and part of the dormant herd sleep walking through life.
The book is not to be taken as a factual book, but more of a parable which serves to express certain concepts in such a way that most people can pick it up and learn and understand these things.
I believe the book is a great primer for anyone who is just beginning to break the bonds of dogma that have tied them for so long.

Prophecies never work out the way they're supposed to. Ever. ;)

intimidator, poor me, aloof and aggressor
Good book read it mid 90's during a time when we where doing 3 meditation groups a week we all read it , and the coincidences we experienced where amazing .People talking to each of us out of the blue about coincidences and adding have you read the celestine prophecy ! there was a couple of workshops run on the isle of wight around that tiem working with the experiential guides that came out with the 2 first books .
The celestine vision and the secrets of shambhala followed and god and the evolving universe ithink it was called which was written with two other authors .Several years after reading the books when i learnt of the movie being made i re read it again to familiarise myself with the plotand once again people started discussing it with me out of the blue ! the movie is ok mainly for the scenery its good to see where the action takes place and is spectacular .We had a freind who didnt believe in anything spiritual at all but said he visited peru during his merchant navy time and it was like a spiritual homeland if such a thing exists because the energy there was different you could feel something in the air despite all the soldiers armed with machine guns everywhere , but he still didnt believe!!! I feel when you are ready the teacher appears so it is with certain books this being one .I gave a copy to my sister to read and she has just got her degree in psychology /counselling and works in that filed now due in part to that book i feel and how it affected her thought processes .Anyway just enjoy the magic hope you like the movie :D

It's catagorically a work of fiction, in terms of an account of five sense events... in the same tradition as Casteneda. The "boys own" adventure in South America did NOT happen
And I'm 100% cool with that, story is always a good method for getting theme across
In terms of the insight afforded by those themes, Celestine Prophecy is a powerful and relevant work
It is essentially fiction, however it has the basis of our reality and how it is played out.
If you watch people, you can see the control dramas in play.
Much better to give people energy than have them suck it out of you. That is fact!

Zero: prophecies do come true.
Oftentimes, they serve as "scripts" for really clever folks. Hence "self-fulfilling prophecies".
But for instance, I've had dreams that came true that there is NO WAY IN HELL coulda happened by anybody's efforts.
Btw.. When I thought "Now Way In Hell" I fondly remembered Smackdown vs. RAW. Are you a wrestling fan?

Seemed to work for jesus and his followers , so a good story telling tradition gets the message across better than the "truth" more often than not.Loved the books but a bit american psychological orientated , redfield
sued anyone who tried starting a celestine based website back in the day , but i would of thought despite the money he made from all the books he would be pleased with the word being spread , as this is what the message of the books entailed , awakening .

A lot of people read the book and cannot quite believe that it is a work of fiction. The work book written by Caroline Adrienne is very good which reminds me I need to get that back from a friend.
what is that one about?sunyatta
