View Full Version : Getting a jolt in bed?

It's weird. I will go to bed sometimes, and my body will jolt as if has received an electric shock. It's not really painful, but it's weird, like my bio-computer has a glitch. I don't get it.

There's so much shit in the air that I'm sure I won't figure it out. Just thought I'd post it to see if others are experiencing this.

that has happened to me occassionally.
i thought once that it was a little negetive energy shaking itself out in a jolt,
especially if i have'nt been getting enough regular exercise?

I get this all the time. It is not so much painful but enough to jolt me wide awake. It is usually accompanied by a flash of electrical white lines behind my eyelids. Not too sure if the constant electrical humming has anything to do with it ..

Oh, well, I actually hear or perceive somehow an electric noise, a shock, and my body shakes for a split second. It ain't fun, but I can't say it's painful.

See that's what I was suspecting, that it has something to do with cell phone towers, or more direct and sinister technology targeted directly at the masses. GART towers come to mind, but I don't recall what they are.

Could also be mercury, which causes ear ringing at least. I got my fillings removed but I have more chelating work to do.

Does it happen in the middle of your sleep?

I have jolts sometimes that scare me! They tend to only happen when I'm "falling" asleep. I just attributed them to a muscle spasm. I don't like the feeling at all though, it's like the -insert body part here-jerks really hard w/o my control, kwim?

Same here. :eek: It usually happens when I'm sleep deprived though, which is rare nowadays.

It happens when I am falling asleep, and my whole body jolts, not just one body part.

"It's called a hypnic jerk.

A hypnic jerk, or hypnagogic massive jerk, usually occurs just as we are falling asleep. People often describe it as a falling sensation or an electric shock, and it is a completely normal experience. It most commonly occurs when sleeping uncomfortably or over-tired. There has been little research done on the subject, but there are some theories as to why hypnic jerks occur.

When we drift of into sleep, the body undergoes changes in temperature, breathing and muscle relaxation. The hypnic jerk may be a result of the muscles relaxing. The brain misinterprets this as a sign of falling and signals our limbs to wake up; hence the jerking legs or arms. "

Quoted from a site, which i lost, can find it if you wish to read it, but theres some info on it here:

What a bunch of balls. "Little research has been done." Gee, I should have stopped reading there. And the explanation is absurd. The body and mind are connected and communicate with each other. The mind isn't just in the brain, it's the whole body! I really doubt that the mind mistakes the body for falling, and tries to jolt it awake.

MAYBE, I don't know. Thanks for the link.

It's neurological :)

The brain (autonomous nervous system) interprets the falling-asleep-too-quickly as "the-body-is-dying" and is trying to jolt it back to life.

Very common, nothing hocus-pocus about it.

Sorry.

It's the central nervous system/motor strip glitch, piloted by the unconscious which means whatever your unconscious chucked at your central nervous system, the 'jerk' was the manifestation.:)

God i love being human :):D

Yeah, nothing hocus-pocus about it huh? Maybe you're right, I don't deny it. BUT, are you familiar with the orthodox explanation for deja-vu? The image which you see travels faster through one of your eyes and reaches the brain sooner, while the other eye catches up right after. Therefore you have an experience of thinking you have relived the previous moment again.

It's all so rational, thanks to the gift of rational science!

The first explanation for the jolts works for me as i often experience this on planes while drifting off i will dream that there is no ground below me(which there really isnt) and this will jolt me awake...

The deja vu thing though has gotta be more to it.. I not only see things twice but i experience them on spiritual level again... smells , lights , sounds all the same - now thats deja vu!

If your body falls asleep too quickly, you're brain is fooled into thinking that the body is dying and begins to send out pulses to the muscles in a last ditch effort to revive. This results in your feelings of being "jolted" or "stepping off a curb".

If you watch someone falling asleep, you can actually watch the process, as each of the 6000 muscles in the body relaxes, one-by-one. If a person is over tired, too many muscles relax at the same time, and the brain thinks something is wrong.

It can even make you think someone has called your name and told you to wake up. (I've had that one happen too)

This is all well documented science, even the sort of thing you can experiment with, and verify, at home.

I'm not sure if it means anything but I was looking up side effects to my medicine and noticed that a lot of people who start taking anti-depressants start having the problem of feeling electrical jolts behind their eyes. I'm not sure if it's related, I've just noticed a lot of people on forums complaining about it.

I call it falling off my bike, had it all my life, just as your about to go in to a deep sleep, it's definitly a falling sensataion, maybe thats why it's called falling asleep?
I've had something once happen to me that was a bit different than that, it woke me in the morning, I was having some intense dreams when it was like I was struck by lightening, a big white flash, a huge bang and I was back in my body, scared the shit outta me!

I would also check here http://www.c-a-t-c-h.ca/ and other mind control & electronic harassment sites, you might of been targeted by one of their sick programs. If you think you have or not sure feel free to pm me.

Technological harassment can include:

* Sabotage/hacking of computer equipment and phones
* Use of audio and/or video surveillance to keep track of the target's whereabouts
* Banging and tapping of walls, windows and objects inside the house
* Vibrating objects, such as bed, chair or body parts
* Inexplicable behavior of anything electronic including TV, computer, car, and appliances (for example, TV turning on or off by itself)

Targets may experience the following physical symptoms:

* Dizziness, weakness
* Frequent headaches
* Extreme fatigue
* Intense, disruptive ear ringing
* Buzzing or clicking in the head, ears or sinuses
* Jolts and jerks to muscles
* Abdominal pain/nausea
* Mental confusion/inability to concentrate

please put your gun somewhere safe out of action dude, until you know whats going on,better to be safe the sorry.

cleft_asunder, please understand a gun will not help you, they do this shit by remote, they will wind you up,trick you , throw voices, so you blame other innocent people or yourself, they are cowards that trick and fool others into doing shit things then try to blame "lone nut jobs" so the can ban guns,don`t fall for it, don`t let them use you.

Haha, I'll strap a david icke book to my body on the next pic. I go to gunsmithing school. It's funny how people think that anyone who likes guns is awkward! I certainly don't like killing, or war, but I LOVE being able to defend myself. Humans weren't given integrated defences. Rather we got the gift of the brain, which allows us to create substitutes such as bows and arrows, and guns.

I thought I was just perceiving them myself, but I guess you are too. I find they usually happen as I drift off into a thought whether its daydreaming or falling asleep.
Most recently I got these when I was studying for exams late into the night and tried to fall asleep. I would be thinking about something while drifting off, and then I would get this jolt and be back to normal, but I would not be able to get back to the thought I was having. I would know what I was thinking about, but I would not be able to experience the thought again.
Anyways, you ain't alone my friend.

Stress, maybe? I've had the same thing happen to me. My body "locks up" for a split second. Since I've laid off the weed and sauce and meditated, the body shocks have stopped.

We live
ina world with "lone nut shootings" like Seung-Hui Cho Virginia Tech and also Pekka-Eric Auvinen finnland and countless others.I am pretty sure some of these

I would like to make it clear that cleft_asunder is not under some kind of mind control & electronic harassment, It was me overreacted, so sorry cleft_asunder if I made any comments that may of offended you or tared your character.

When i try to raise my energy this days i get jolt in my leg or arm since it always flows in wrong direction. Try pulling that same "electric shock" from edge of you lungs upwards, and do it by using thought that will inspire you in spiritual way.

See if you manage to pull it off, one hell of a ride follows in that case.

Iv'e had this sensation all my life also get the white light behind the eyes with it wether they are open or not , usually when just falling off to sleep.It is often accompanied by a vision sleep like image of me tripping over a kerb so my mind is in sync with my body .Maybe as has been said here its your spirit attempting to be off and fly but as the body is in that inbetween state the brain /body compensates by giving us a jolt .I think we travel outside our bodies all the time not just when we are asleep , but possibly on these occasions due t o overtiredness we feel the departing aspect more .As we exist in all places /spaces and aspects at the same time makes sense to me :D
