View Full Version : What is dark matter.

Source of all gravity that binds the universe together is from the dark matter. Without the dark matter the Universe will disintegrate.
Since we can only have indirect information regarding it, its nature is yet uncertain. It could be ordinary matter, that is the same stars and planets are made of, but not in the condition of emitting radiation. For example, it could be made of planets or "brown dwarfs", not massive enough to produce energy by nuclear fusion. Nevertheless, it is thought that the number of these objects is lower than what would be necessary to explain the effects of dark matter observed.
According to a more likely hypothesis, it could be "exotic" matter, in other words different from the common protons, neutrons and electrons. For example, it could be made of massive neutrinos . In fact, it is thought that the neutrinos are particles without a mass, but some recent experiments suggest that they could have a mass, even though very small.
Since the neutrinos are very common and fill the Universe like the radiation, they alone would account for the effects of dark matter observed.
Another kind of dark matter could be that composed of even "stranger" and yet unknown particles, the existence of which is predicted by theoretical physics but has not yet been demonstrated. We are talking about the so-called (weakly interacting massive particles": the axions, photinos, gravitinos, squarks.
Whatever its composition is, dark matter dominates the Universe, represents its main source of gravitational force and is responsible for a large part of its structure.
Any thoughts?

Interesting thoughts dude..
I myself have never come across dark matter, but after reading your post I am intrigued....

Dark matter looks like a wire mesh that holds the universe together. That is what it looks like. Scientists have proven it, and I think the link might be on this site somewhere.

LOL they turned off your sig Mike :P.
So if Dark matter vanishes... we're fucked?

That is interesting.

This wiki page seems to describe it quite well. I thought dark matter, and anti matter was the same, but wasnt sure. I think anti matter has not been proven yet, but it seems dark matter has been proven.

Dark matter is the energy that permeates all the visible and non visible universe(s). It is the stuff that connects everything to everything else allowing non-locality or omnipitance, so you might want to call it infinite consciousness, it is what you,me everybody and everything IS. :)
If and when science realises this, then this could l be the turning point in our awakening. We are all connected . Peace out.

"Dark matter" and string theory are the modern equivalents of the supposed eccentric orbits of the sun and planets when the earth was thought to be the center of the solar system.

I agree with johngr. These people are on wild goose chases. Various sources indicate we are immersed in a force termed by some 'the aether'. To me this theory rings true when analysed because everything is simplified. It hit me straight in the face. No scientific theory has done that to me for ages.

Dark matter is Chi, Ki, Prana, Orgone, Ether, Kether................
Lifeforce! The opposite of matter.

Are you claiming dark matter and aether to be the same? To me aether seems philosophically proven. Aether seems to be a force that isnt measurable, because it is the 0 of everything, so I guess it could be the same as dark matter. Aether as I see it, is also the source of everything, the first state of being. A state between being energy and nothing, so the closest thing we have to nothing, and therefore most likely the building stone of atoms and those things atoms are made up of.
Aether even seems to explain why it is possible to change everything with your mind and will. Explain it even better than the fact everything is just different kinds, states or frequencies of energy.
I guess I will have to look into dark matter some more to see if it could be the same as aether.

Im not really sure what the western world mean with dark matter.
I do know that there is matter and the opposite of matter known as chi, ki, prana, orgone, ether etc. So dark matter has to be one of these two.

Maybe you are referring to anti-matter, which im not sure is the same as dark matter, but it could be.

I have a feeling that dark matter is ether, chi, orgone etc, perhaps anti-matter is negative orgone ect??? Dunno, only guessing ;)

from wiki with love
there are three types of dark matter:
Hot dark matter - nonbaryonic particles that move ultrarelativistically
Warm dark matter - nonbaryonic particles that move relativistically
Cold dark matter - nonbaryonic particles that move non-relativistically
thought i might help out:D

Dark matter is a theory. Something that scientists have labelled which purpose is to 'hold the universe in place'.

Nassim Haramein claims dark matter is something scientists made up, to make up for their flaws. That that numbers are made up to replace infiniti, trying to define something as the smallet piece of matter, but Nassim claims that it always gets smaller.
I believe he also claims aether is more like the dark matter that is explain, and I understood him. Aether is probably what keeps our universe expanding.

it is a part of the God energy...it is what allows psychic ability, distance healing, telepathy all the crazy stuff scientist don't understand.

OP is a good summary of dark matter =) all legit stuff.
About antimatter:
Antimatter definitely does exist: i know for example swansea university (not exactly the most high-tech of universities..) can make anti-hydrogen nuclei (i was thinking of studying physics there)
The real mystery about antimatter is why there is apparently so little of it in comparison to regular matter.
Some far out theories for what antimatter actually is suggest that it is regular matter going backwards through time !! pretty cool if you ask me =)
But practically you can think of it as the 'opposite' of regular matter - for example the antimatter version of an electron is called a positron: they have the same mass but opposite charges.
When you put matter and antimatter together they 'annihilate' and emit a tonne of energy in the form of gamma rays. Interestingly enough, this actually works both ways! if you have a gamma ray that has enough energy then it can spontaneously turn into a particle and its antiparticle (this is called 'pair production').
It's pretty interesting stuff, but the important thing is to remember that it is everyday stuff - we use it for pet scans and shit apparently =D
Now armed with this knowledge go make some conspiracy theories that make a bit more sense ! :)

Any thoughts? It's all theory that could be overturned by new theory. Likely will be.
