Phil Neville the Everton footballer is worried that it's only a matter of time before a footballer is attacked by a supporter.

"In tennis a fan ran onto the court and stabbed Monica Seles and I think it is only a matter of time before that happens in football," said Neville.

"The level of abuse that players are receiving is bordering on frightening and enough is enough now," added Neville.

"It is only a matter of time before a really serious incident takes place.

"It has been building up for the last 10 years and it is fine shouting abuse at you, but they are now shouting abuse about your family and when it gets to that level then enough is enough."

Also, Professional Footballers' Association chief executive Gordon Taylor has called for greater security to ensure players are protected from crowd abuse.

"If there is clear knowledge of what may happen at a match, it is as well stewards and police are pre-warned," he told BBC Sport.

"Clubs need to be very mindful when they are counselling stewards before the game that there may be likely targets in the opposition team."

Although I agree that a player COULD be attacked at a match (that has ALWAYS been possible god forbid), I think that Phil Neville has fell right into the hands of the NWO and is pushing their agenda without knowing it.

I wonder if they will introduce armed police checks on the way into football grounds. Or maybe they will have armed police in the grounds or arm the stewards with tasers or both ?

Notice that Gordon Taylor says that stewards should be made aware that they are "likely targets" by opposition fans

Of course its always been the case, think he has fell into the NWO's agenda, if it did happen they might end up putting up perspex like they do at a lot of italian grounds

This has fallen right into the trap IMHO. I'm a football fan (Leeds Utd -- don't laugh!!). And to be honest the papers and TV fuel aggression prior to matches -- hence lots of changes to kick off times etc.

A player coming out and saying this will only lead to it playing out in 'reality' before too long.....

And, therein lies the scam. ;)

Playing to the given agenda alright and strange that it should be announced now the tennis stabbing incident was a long time ago .Despite hillsborough they still might consider penning people in .Maybe because football has such mass appeal then they might try chipping the fans to control them , how many would take the chip in order to get into see the match .
I'm a football fan (Leeds Utd -- don't laugh!!). the good old days when the fighting was on the pitch norman hunter bites yer legs :)What a team they where back in the day peter lorimer alan clarke billy bremmner , i bought a leeds yellow kit just to annoy the lads in school seeing i was in liverpool it went down well still a liverpool fan now but check out you tube match of the 70's :D

Well, football is a violent game, players themselves give
the example.
Supporters work hard to earn the money to watch
those games. Shouting away your daily frustrations is
one of the "pleasures" you get for the ridiculous entrance fees
you have to pay these days.

Players like Beckham that have wedding parties for
a million pound or something, no supporters allowed, only celebs.

Something is really wrong here and I think all in all there is
not much need to complain.
Can't remember a serious incident for a long time....
Think it's much more dangerous to be a supporter btw than
for a player and supporters PAY for it.....

(but that violence around the game is one of the reasons
I have had enough of it for a long time already.)

Btw for the symbo folks.
Phil Neville is one of a TWIN.
And his father is called NEVILLE NEVILLE.
(Am thinking a bit of Seville here.....)
And somehow the timing, just before christmas....

Football is a violent game, and people get to vent a lot of there anger out there, but the idiots who shout terrible abuse do get told to shut up by a lot of supporters. A lot of the drunken culture that surrounds it is a put off, but again think thats the minority, well the ones that want to fight and cause trouble.

Seemes to be the british way of life tho, culturally, get drunk act aggressive, was at an ocean color scene gig last week, there ok was forced into it, but eh it was all that mentality rule, to quote sonic youth, unitys not taught at school fragmentation is the rule, it was like a cult and ocs were pro that its fucked, personally dont mind a booz up and a gig but when you notice it like that its fuked up, and ocs were pro that, amybe why they made it, na they had a couple good tunes, good guitarist..

Football is a rich mans game now and the poor man pays, exatly how theyd want it. Theyd love to introduce perspex, hem the sheep in!! Hillsbrough was terracing tho and most big grounds have seating, could easily imagine them bringing something like perspex in, for our own good of course
