Hmm ive been meaing to do that myself but im not sure.

My mum had at one point 4-5 weeks of 30-40 pound a week charges because the first charge made her overdrawn, and because she kept having to pay more, she stayed overdrawn.

She almost was going to take them to court but i think she gave up.

Maybe we should contact those people and get our money back!

nuit, they arnt allowing it anymore, they have suspended all court cases untill the outcome of the OFT case (as that case will set the precedent weather there charges are legal or not)

however you can still go ahead with business accounts.

Yeah the other week I went over by 50p the day before pay day, bastards, started a chain reaction of bank charges and direct debit fees,I complained and got most of them stopped,so go a complain every charge as the banks most of the time will back down and refund them.

have a look on www.thinkfree.ca its canadian but its pretty much the same legal systems, its alot easier over there because of your constitution (or whats left of it). you just have to remember to act on there letters otherwise your in dishonour. over the past 2 weeks iv got paypal to reverse some outstanding charges i had on my account for over 2 yrs and have a got a company sending me a certified copy of a document (I bought a TV on finance and the finance company have been taken over and they sent me a letter telling me i owe them money now instead of the other company so im getting the contract betwwen the two massive companies).

This "commerce game" has gone on long enough. Do not allow any bank, corporation, govt etc. near your assetts and never borrow money from them. I'm not sure about the rest of the world but here in the U.S I realized that everything that has to do with the bank/govt/corp doesn't apply to me anyways but to a fictional commercial likeness which i am supposed to believe is me, commonly known as a strawman just so they can steal my income. Proof- Look at 'your' drivers licence, paycheck stub and 'your' bank statement, why is your name in all caps? Do you spell your name like that? Answer that question and you'll figure it out. If it's a fictional commercial entity the govt/banks/corporations CAN control it too. The best way to get out of their b/s game is to stop 'working', deal only in cash and keep it safe in a safe at your home like I do. It's non-traceable and I feel my income is safer with me. The fact is if you want to stop their NWO plan, stop going to work. If corportations had positions to fill and no one to fill them what would happen? Remember there is always another way to get the money you need without bowing down to 'them'. Independent financial freedom is the only way to stop them. I stopped working and joined a cash gifting program a year ago. I bring in ALLOT more cash daily through a gifting program than I ever would slaving for a 'wage' at a job. Maybe the rest of you should think about that. Oh yeah and Nuit, you are beautiful.

I think it's ridiculous that banks are charging fees on money which doesn't exist. I think this should be an argument to make banks accountable for their long list of bullshit fees which are assessed against overdrafts, "account maintenance," etc.

I really think it's time to stop accepting the bullshit that's handed down by companies. Bullshit policies, lies and corruption must be fought with a stubbornness unknown to one's self when faced with excuses about "policies," laws and the like.

Its not just bank charges. I got back my mortgage administration fee from A&L.
I'm also wondering how exactly they intend to foreclose on mortgage arrears. On initial looking it seems like this could be fought. Also should the mortgage companies be holding your deeds? I reckon this is legally iffy. But we'll see. (My opinion is of course its illegal and immoral... but I mean from the current admiralty law scam angle).

This is a tenuous link to the thread title but I just had a phone call from my bank who were asking why I was overdrawn (cos money's gone out without me putting anymore in, obviously :p). Anyway, I said Id be making a cash deposit tomorrow we would take me out of unauthorised overdraft of MY account when the bank rep told me that the bank would be monitoring my account to make sure I made the deposit as I said I would. It's my money and my account, I'll deposit as I choose to, ta muchly fella. I pointed out that charging me x amount of money for being in unathorised overdraft made money for their company so he should be thanking me. As he could barely speak English he didn't get my sarcasm ;)

mortgage foreclosures can be fought and so much rasier than you think all you need to do is apply for an application for a warrant to suspend....if you want further help on this matter just pm me i went all through this in my 3rd year of my degree

It is stupid charging people to have bank accounts and charge you between £35 to £50 for being overdrawn, which there again makes you further in debt. It's a vicious circle. How on earth are you suppose to get yourself straight.

I was absolutely gobsmacked when I rang hsbc for balance update. On this occasion, they decided that I was good enough to speak to a real person and not just listen to automated voice. They wanted to help me with my banking needs-indeed. The person on the other line clearly reading a script was offering me free this that and the other if I switched to some whatever current account. I thought the deal sounded great and then they started to autocue the conditions. I swear these guys get training in voice techniques, because somewhere in middle of their performance I picked up on the low tone "at just £12.00 per month". I immediately challenged them. Anyway the thing is, they were trying to get me to switch my current free account to their more attractive current account because of the freebies that you get (free travel insurance for a year) which would cost me £12 per month, £144 per year. Very biblical numbers hey. I asked them if Black Bess was needing more hay.

Well lets hope that we all can get something back from these greedy banks. We had a phone call the other day, telling us that we needed to pay money into our account so that charges wouldn't be charged. I could not understand the person on the over end because she was talking more in her own language than English. I questioned where she was talking from and she said the Punjab. In the end I really started to get angry and another person came in and started talking to me in more broken English. To be honest by the end of the conversation I think I gave up the will to live. I did do as I was told, but why don't they educate the people better English to make customers understand what is going on with their money. I'm not racist but I would to understand what people are talking about.:p
