Okay i was just wondering what christians thought of the incest and animal sacrifice that occurs in the bible (at least the old testament)?
Strange stuff, when considered people read wisdom from a book that contains what is now regarded as questionable morality...
Im sure there are probably some good thoughts on the matter, but i havent given it as much thought as other might, and im curious...

The only thought given is to stir up crap and have a go at Christians. You been reading to much Crowley again maybe?

I think that Paul took it all too far in the opposite direction with all that celibacy.
I think that his way was as equally un-Christian as the OT behavior you describe.
I think that was his reaction to it, but I do not think celibacy is a Christian way at all. Look at all the suffering caused by frustrated priests!
The discipline of monogomy within the context of the sacrament of Holy Matrimony is the middle path between the two extremes, imo, and so is the true way of Christ for me.
That's one Christian's thoughts, anyway.

Killing the firstborn.
Pillars of flame.
Plagues.
Floods.
I mean.. Some seriously violent stuff occurs there, wot?ç
But God can do that. That's why it's "God".

Trouble with this is that the "church" has messed with his image by tampering with the scriptures so much to fit their own agenda, we don't know how he really lived (morality-wise).
I rather like the idea that he and Mary Magdalene were an item.
"Christ" after all, is androgynous.
