Yes the little man is doing good .Went to hospital twice but pulled through. Alot of friends have told me alot of there kids got chest infections etc.
The calpol really did good with him. Even thoe people told me not to trust calpol because big pharma have an agenda etc.
Anyway thank goodness for calpol because we used it and it works really well.

I am glad to hear everything is ok!!! Chest and ear infections are quite common in babies. Their diet is extremely important. Garlic is one of the best things you can put in their food when they start solids.. ..

Calpol is apparantly quite good for bringing down temperature but there is a good argument for letting a fever run its course too, it is meant to kill the bad guys.. .. I done some research on Calpol and there does appear to be a link between it and children who develop asthma. I completely understand though, as a parent, how you can reach for the friendly pink syrup when your child is sick but there are many natural ways to help with the pain. Maybe see do you have a herbalist or a homeopath in the area who can help!!

Glad to hear your baby is on the mend, high temperatures in infants can cause the baby to fit, calpol combined with tepid sponging can bring the temp down quickly.

Not just a fever on its own though unless of course it is over 107 measured rectally and it has been that way consistently, then it can be dangerous.

Fever has a purpose. Viruses and germs are eliminated by fever and a higher body temperature helps fight off infection. The hypothalamus increases the body's temperature to fight the infection.

The human body is very clever. Yes, in a baby a high fever can be very scary for the parent but its the other symptoms that come with it to watch out for that may or may not result in seizures.

Lung infections happen in the lung linning, many times they can helped or prevented by turning the baby frequently so any infected liquid in the lung is not staying on one spot. Also try putting baby on his/her side, slightly cup your hand to fit the side/back part of the baby, you are trying to acsess the lung from the back and side area. Now firmly but not hard enough to make the baby uncomfortable pat the baby on the side/back. About as hard as if you were REALLY trying to get that burp out. This will help losen any mucas that is stuck on the lung wall. Do both sides.

Temps should not be brought down unless they run for a long time or are very high. Remember baby HAS to cough to remove fluid so avoid cough medicine unless it's so bad they throw up with it.

Disclaimer- I am not a DR nor play one on TV however I did work in a pediatric ward at a hospital and have observed these things helping. Consult the medical proffesional of your choice if you have concerns with your child's health.

I'm a mother and have had more than a few sleepless nights when my boys had fevers and general malaise. The best way to bring a high temperature down is by tepid sponging, this is also the best method to use on adults.
