Facts Of Honey"
It is found that a mixture of Honey and Cinnamon cures most
diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world.
Scientists of today also accept honey as a "Ram Ban" (very effective)
medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side
effects for any kind of diseases.
Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the
right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients.
Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada, on its issue dated 17
January, 1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be
cured by
Honey and Cinnamon as researched by western scientists:
HEART DISEASES:
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of
jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the
cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack.
Also those who already had an attack, if they do this process
daily, t
hey are kept miles away from the next attack.
Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and
strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes
have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the
arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and
cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.
ARTHRITIS:
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot
water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder.
If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured.
In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was
found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one
tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they
found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically
73
patients were totally relieved of pain and within a month, mostly all the
patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started
walking without pain.
BLADDER INFECTIONS:
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of
honey in
a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the
bladder.
TOOTHACHE:
Make a paste of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and
five teaspoons of honey and apply on the aching tooth. This may be
applied 3 times a day till the tooth stops aching.
CHOLESTEROL:
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed
in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to
reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10% within 2 hours. As
mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken 3 times a day, any chronic
cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said
journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of
cholesterol.
COLDS:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one
tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for 3 days.
This process will cure most chronic cough, cold and clear the
sinuses.
UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears
stomach ulcers from the root.
GAS:
According to the studies done in India & Japan, it is revealed that
if honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.
IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system
and protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks.
Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large
amounts. Constant use of honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles to
fight bacteria and viral diseases.
INDIGESTION:
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before
food, relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.
INFLUENZA:
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural
ingredient which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.
LONGEVITY:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests
the ravages of old age. Take 4 spoons of honey, 1 spoon of cinnamon powder
and 3 cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, 3 to 4 times
a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft .
PIMPLES:
Three tablespoons of Honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste.
Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning
with warm water. If done daily for two weeks, it removes pimples from the
root.
SKIN INFECTIONS:
Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected
parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin infections.
WEIGHT LOSS:
Daily in the morning 1/2 hour before breakfast on an empty stomach and
at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one-cup
water. If taken regularly it reduces the weight of even the most obese
person.
Also, drinking of this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to
accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.
CANCER:
Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced
cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients
suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of
honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month 3 times a day.
FATIGUE:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more
helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body.
Senior citizens, who take honey and cinnamon power in equal parts, are
more alert and flexible.
Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon honey
taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken daily
after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 p.m. when the
vitality of
the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a
week.
BAD BREATH:
People of South America, first thing in the morning gargle with one
teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath
stays fresh throughout the day.

Oh man! I haven't eaten honey for a very long time.
Thanks for the facts! Honey bees are really wonderful creatures, it sucks that some 'Humans' kill them, because of they think that they destroy their gardens from mixing pollen to pollen. Stupid! It is actually helping the flowers grow healthy.

More polls » Medicine may be increasingly high-tech, but the latest wonder treatment which is being offered to patients is - honey.
Last week, it was announced that bandages soaked in manuka honey are to be given to mouth cancer patients at the Christie Hospital in Manchester to reduce their chances of contracting the MRSA superbug and to lessen wound inflammation following surgery.
This is just the latest study investigating this particular type of honey's healing powers.
It is used routinely at the Manchester Royal Infirmary for dressing wounds, and other research has found it can fight gum disease, ease digestive problems and soothe sore throats.
All honey contains hydrogen peroxide, a substance once used as a wound disinfectant in hospitals - it comes from an enzyme that bees add to nectar.
It also contains the enzyme glucose oxidase, which boosts its anti-bacterial properties.
This was recognised by the ancient Egyptians and Greeks, who used honey to help heal burns and sores.
But manuka honey - made by bees that collect pollen from the manuka bush (Leptospermum scoparium), which grows wild in New Zealand - has other, yet to be identified, ingredients which appear to have health benefits.
Professor Peter Molan, director of the honey research centre at the University of Waikato, New Zealand, has called these 'unique manuka factors' (UMFs) and uses this to classify its various strengths.
For example, a UMF5 product is thought to be equivalent to a 5 per cent solution of a standard antiseptic; a UMF20, the highest strain, is equal to a 20 per cent solution of antiseptic.
The honey costs up to £12 a jar, and some doctors recommend one teaspoonful before meals for general health and digestive problems or it can be applied neat to the skin for rashes and wounds.
Here is a guide to manuka honey's other benefits:
FIGHTS SUPERBUGS
In separate studies, researchers at Aintree Hospital in Liverpool and the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, found manuka honey could help to combat MRSA, which kills 5,000 British patients a year.
Outbreaks of the superbug are estimated to cost the health service £1 billion a year in extra treatment.
'Our research found that even at concentrations as low as 3 per cent, honey is able to inhibit the growth of the bacteria,' says Dr Rose Cooper, the head of the Cardiff team.
'It is probable that at higher concentrations the honey would destroy the MRSA.'
Another study published in the European Journal of Medical Research found manuka had an 85 per cent success rate - compared with 50 per cent with routine treatments - when used to treat infected caesarean and hysterectomy wounds.
FIGHTS GUM DISEASE
Despite its sweetness, manuka honey has been found to disrupt three types of bacteria in the mouth which cause tooth decay.
In laboratory tests, it sharply reduced the acid levels produced by Streptococcus mitis, Streptococcus sobrinus and Lactobacillus caseii.
Research by Professor Molan has shown that reducing the amount of acid stops the bacteria from producing dextran, which sticks dental plaque to the surface of teeth. He recommends rubbing manuka into the gums after brushing or, since it retains its anti-microbial properties even when diluted up to 50 times, it can be used as a mouthwash.
Because it is not known exactly what are the honey's powerful properties and as it is so sweet, it should not be given to children aged under two.
SOOTHES SORE THROATS
Manuka honey with a high UMF rating could help fight infections, such as the bacteria streptoccous pyogones, that causes sore throats.
Professor Molan found that taking a teaspoon three times a day, and keeping it in the mouth for as long as possible before swallowing, prevented most throat infections from developing to the point where a trip to the doctor is necessary.
EASES DIGESTIVE PROBLEMS
Lower UMF manuka honey can help maintain general health and good digestion.
They have helped to treat problems ranging from diarrhoea and indigestion to stomach ulcers.
A teaspoon on bread or toast three times a day can also ease acid reflux and heartburn.
SOOTHES ACNE, ECZEMA & SUNBURN
Trials at the University of Waikato are looking into the effects of manuka honey on acne and eczema.
It is suggested it is applied neat to the skin as a face pack and left for 15 to 20 minutes before washing off.
The honey is already used by many acne sufferers, and naturopaths recommend anyone prescribed antibiotics for acne to take the honey orally as it will help to balance bacteria in the intestine.
Diluted or neat manuka can also be applied to soothe sunburned skin.
BOOSTS ENDURANCE
Using honey, including manuka of various UMFs, during exercise was found to be as successful at improving performance and power among athletes as specialist energy drinks.
Researchers at the exercise and sport nutrition laboratory of the University of Memphis found three to five teaspoons of honey reduced the time to complete a 64km time trial by more than three minutes and improved cycling power by 6 per cent compared to a placebo.
'In the quest for that extra advantage, endurance athletes at all levels turn to carbohydrate sources, such as the many sports drinks on the market, to fuel strenuous exercise,' said Professor Richard Kreider, who led the study.
'We were pleased to find that honey, a cocktail of natural sugars, performed just as well.'

Health Benefits of Honey
Honey has long been recognized as a natural remedy and has been used as a medicine for thousands of years. Health benefits of Honey - History of Honey, Mead, Royal Jelly
Perhaps your parents failed to mention it when they discussed the birds and the bees with you, but honey has long been known to have a multitude of healing powers with everything from relieving a sore throat, allergies, healing wounds, etc. It also goes great with peanut butter.
Research shows that a spoonful of honey is more effective than DM cough syrup in treating coughs - and is safe for children over 12 months old, according to Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, December 2007.
Other research from the University of California, Davis reveals that honey consumption raises antioxidant levels. Honey soothes on contact and has well-established antioxidant and antimicrobial effects, which helps explain its contributions to wound healing.
In the study, 25 people were told to eat between four and 10 tablespoons of buckwheat honey, depending on their weight, each day for a month. They could eat the honey in almost any form, but it couldn't be baked or dissolved in tea. Many chose to eat straight from the spoon. Antioxidant levels rose in the participants. Antioxidants provide defense against free radicals, which cause cell damage.
Researchers discovered honey contained as many antioxidants - which combat the free radicals which can damage cells - as spinach, apples, oranges or strawberries. Scientists from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign say honey appears to have a "mild protective effect".
It was already known that honey contained varying levels of antioxidants, with dark honey having more than light. This is the first study to examine honey's effect on human blood.
In the study, researchers checked the blood of 25 men aged 18 - 68 over five weeks. They found drinking four tablespoons of honey mixed into a 16-ounce glass of water improved the antioxidant levels in their blood.
The team is currently conducting a study on rabbits to see if honey could slow atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries.
The types of flowers the bees pollinate determine flavor and color of honey. Buckwheat honey comes from the buckwheat plant and is dark in color with a distinct flavor. The darker shades of honey are believed to have more antioxidants. The study showed no weight gain in participants for the month they were consuming honey. And, some claimed that eating honey for breakfast actually made them feel full and satisfied.
Eating honey along with supplemental calcium appeared to enhance calcium absorption in rats, according to a study from Purdue University.
In addition, the researchers suggested that the absorption of calcium increased as the amount of honey taken was upped.
Sugar is a crystalline carbohydrate extracted from sugar cane and sugar beets. It is a non-nutritive empty calorie that robs the body of vitamins and minerals. Sugar is addicting. The biggest culprit? Soft drinks, which account for one-third of our total sugar intake.
Approximately one half of the human diet is derived directly or indirectly from crops pollinated by bees. Today honeybees are an essential part of a healthy agriculture economy. If you have allergies, honey can be beneficial. If you eat honey that is local to your area, it may prevent your seasonal allergies. Bees use the pollen from local plants and eventually it ends up in your honey.
Health-promoting compounds found in honey could make this ingredient a more attractive option for food makers currently using bulk sweeteners such as high-fructose corn syrup and looking to jump on board the growing health foods trend, say scientists in the US.
Researchers at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign say that honey may be a healthier alternative to corn syrup due to its higher level of antioxidants, compounds which are believed to fight cancer, heart disease and other diseases. Honey, which contains a number of antioxidant components that act as preservatives, also shows promise as a replacement for some synthetic antioxidants widely used as preservatives in salad dressings and other foods.
High fructose syrups kicked off in the US in the 1970s when the country developed new technologies to process this bulk calorific sweetener. The ingredient, an alternative to sucrose, rapidly gained in popularity and is now used extensively by soft drinks makers such as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.
Honey, a natural syrup produced by bees is similar to invert sugar, with a small but variable excess of levulose (fructose). The composition and flavor of honey varies with the plant source of the nectar, processing and storage but a typical composition is 41 per cent fructose, 34 per cent glucose, 18 per cent water, and 2 per cent sucrose with a pH of 3.8 to 4.2.
According to the US researchers, dark-colored honey, such as buckwheat honey, is generally thought to contain higher levels of antioxidants than the light-colored varieties. Previous studies by the researchers, who presented their findings this week at the American Chemical Society meeting in Illinois, suggest that honey may have the same level of disease-fighting antioxidants as that of some common fruits.
In international terms China is currently by far the largest honey producing nation in the world, with around a 40 per cent slice of the market. The next biggest producers are the US, Argentina and Ukraine. According to the American Honey Producers Association, China and Argentina have been adversely affecting America’s domestic honey industry with cheap imports, although there is a counter argument that both China and Argentina have been helping to counterbalance falling production in the US. Also starting to emerge onto the world honey production arena are Thailand and Vietnam.
Honey contains vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, and is a wonderful beauty aid that nourishes the skin and the hair. Honey acts as an antibacterial and antifungal agent and helps disinfect and speed the healing process in wounds, scrapes and burns.
Honey mixed with ground almonds makes an excellent facial cleansing scrub.
A tablespoon of honey whisked together with an egg white, 1 teaspoon of glycerin and about 1/4 cup of flour makes an excellent firming mask. Just smooth on the face, leave on 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water. You will be pleased with the results.
Honey also makes a great moisturizing pack. Just mix 2 tablespoons of honey with 2 teaspoons of whole milk, smooth over the face and throat, and let it do its job for 15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water, and finish splashing with cold water.
Honey also makes a great lotion for dry patches of skin on hands, elbows, or other parts. Just mix 1 teaspoon of honey with 1 teaspoon of olive oil and a 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply to hands, elbows, heels of your foot, etc., and wash off after 15 minutes. Fast relief!
Honey works well on chapped lips and for acne because it has antibacterial properties.
To give your hair lustrous shine, mix 1 teaspoon of honey into 4 cups of warm water. Use as a hair rinse. And if you're a blond, add the juice of 1 lemon, too.
Mix 1 tablespoon of honey with a cup of warm water. Use it as a mouthwash. Honey cleans teeth and dentures, and kills germs in the mouth.
Royal Jelly: Royal jelly is a substance produced by worker bees inside the beehive. Inside this nutritious substance are sugar, proteins, fats and many vitamins. It is used in problems caused by tissue deficiency or body frailty.
Even ancient languages give us a clue to the importance of honey. The BEE (bhei-) was particularly important as the producer of honey, for which we have the common Indo-European name melit-. Honey was the only source of sugar and sweetness (swd-, “sweet,” is ancient), and notably was the base of the only certain Indo-European alcoholic beverage, medhu-, which in different dialects meant both MEAD (“wine” in Greece and Anatolia) and “honey.”
A Land of Milk and Honey
And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey: unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. -- Exodus 3: 8
Addressing Moses from the burning bush, Yahweh announces his plan to bring Israel out of Egypt to a "land flowing with milk and honey." God means Palestine, the land he promised to Abraham (Genesis 12) and again to Jacob (Genesis 28).
He doesn't mean, though, that milk and honey wash over the land -- as "flowing" might suggest -- but rather that his people can look forward to a booming economy. (They could also look forward to unfriendly natives, but that's another story.) Milk and honey were dietary staples for the semi-nomadic Israelites of biblical times, so Palestine would indeed be a promising home, abounding in goats and swarming with bees. The soil would be fertile also.
Mead (honey wine) has for centuries been renowned as an 'aphrodisiac' and the word Honeymoon is derived from the ancient Viking custom of having newly-weds drink mead for a whole moon (month) in order to increase their fertility and therefore their chances of a happy and fulfilled marriage. We have returned full cycle to the birds and the bees.
still uncertain in to if its worth paying extra for manuka-the normal honey looks good too.guess its what you can afford:rolleyes:

My mother used to give me warm milk with honey if I was sick or couldnt sleep... but this I did not know. Amazing :)
"A cocktail of natural sugars", and sugars is last I checked a mix of energy and something else. I did not put much thought to it before, but sugar is also known to give a "sugar rush". Maybe the energy in sugar is really energy for the body? Some kind of sugar seems to be in the diet of maybe all living beings.
With honey being made by 100s of bees who have all collected the best honey they can find from all kinds of flowers, well, those insects probably do have a good sense of quality :)
Thanks for the article :) I think I will get some honey next time I go shop as well :D I bet it doesnt get too old like jam does :o

also with the honey
only 100% natural
lot of people "feed" the bees with all types of chemicals to be healthy or to produce more honey
also dont take this
they will tell you a lot of marketing tricks and put the honey in a astonishing packages just to see it
buy only from someone you trust
and at the end
everithing that is natural in a small amounts is exelent for us
DONT TAKE DRUGS for every headacke or so
you lnow what i mean
all that things just make more harm than good to our bodyes

TOOTHACHE:
Make a paste of one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and
five teaspoons of honey and apply on the aching tooth. This may be
applied 3 times a day till the tooth stops aching.
Uhhhhh... I'd rather not, thanks. :p Sounds like a cavity waiting to happen.
The best honey is raw and unpasteurized. It practically "cured" my hay fever one season, along with retinol, cholecalciferol, and n-3 fat supplementation. Mead and Metheglin are also good!

Do they really pasteurize honey here?
Not in Poland at least [not yet]
My favourite honey is made of lime tree.
It's quite "spicy" and strong in taste, very
aromatic. Great remedium for cold and coughing fit. Used with warm milk brings
calm sleep as well.
I've tried to get it in UK, unfortunatelly.
It cost less than 4 pounds for one kilo jar in Poland. :) [biiig jar!]
We also have honey mixed with propolis [about 2-3%] The taste is bitter-sweet and is great.
Tonight I try cinnamon with honey. Thank You, guys for valuable info.

Do they really pasteurize honey here?
Yes, where I live the majority of honey for sale is cooked. However, it's easier to find raw honey here than raw milk.
