Readers have been calling in their droves to tell us they saw the huge “Dorito” UFO in the skies over the Black Country.

The orange triangle with its three lights was seen over Wednesfield and Dudley by scores of people who phoned the newspaper after an appeal for information.

A flurry of calls was made to Stourbridge based UFO Research Midlands, UFORM, from those claiming to have witnessed an unexplained aircraft in the sky.

The flying object was spotted over Halesowen heading towards Stourbridge on Wednesday at around 7pm.Katherine Hemmings, aged 13, of Beechwood Avenue, saw it at 4pm over Wednesfield High School in Lichfield Road. She was walking home with friends Tasmin Jones and Chelsea Smith when the three felt compelled to turn around. “It was weird because it wasn’t making any noise but for some reason we turned around”, Katherine said. “We all saw this big thing with lights in the sky.

“We didn’t tell anyone other than our families at first because we thought everyone would laugh at us. Our families didn’t know what to think until they saw it in the paper. I have never really believed something like that would be real. I always just thought people who say they have seen a UFO are seeing aeroplanes or birds.” Pat Scotford and her husband Mick saw the UFO when they were in their garden in Devon Road, Wollaston at around 7.30pm.

Mrs Scotford, aged 61, said she too saw three orange lights in the sky. “It looked like it was heading towards Kinver”, she said. “At first I thought it was three planes flying in formation but the lights were far too close together. I’m sure we’re not alone in the universe.”

Steve Poole, chairman of UFORM, said one man filmed over 30 seconds of footage of the craft.

Driver Lisa Timmins, aged 38, saw the object while at her boyfriend’s house in Whitgreave Avenue, Bushbury, some time between 6.15pm and 6.40pm.

She said: “I haven’t got a clue what it was, but it was quite big.”

UFO Events Spread Over British Columbia Canada

On November 29, 2007 at 4:30 a.m. to approximately 9:00 a.m. on a ranch in Hazelton, British Columbia a man woke up in the early hours of the morning, looked out one of the windows of his home to spot something very unusual in the morning sky. He watched for a while then went and grabbed his spotting scope. What he witnessed through his scope took him by surprise. It was a huge ball of extremely bright white light, which turned out to be a "large" cigar shaped craft hovering in the sky over his ranch.

POLAND: Poznan Air Show UFO Photos

On photos from an air show that took place on 24th June 2007 an unidentified aerial objects (with one in a shape of saucer) can be seen. The photos were submitted to NPN organization by a witness who on that day took part in an air show held in Poznan city (Wielkopolska) district of Malta. It turns out that in the skies there were also out of ordinary objects

The witness wrote in the relation:

"I've returned from Malta where an air show was held. After viewing the photo material I saw two anomalous objects on photos (…). On the first one there is a small black dot by flying airplanes. On the second one there is a formation of some three lights. Then I began to watch the video and on one of them I saw the strange object that fly along and disappear."

The first one photo was taken at 7:56 p.m. at Inflancka street. We can see there an unidentified object in a shape of saucer passing above three planes flying in formation. On the second one we can see three anomalous triangular formation of three bright lights apparently of different size. The photo was taken when aircrafts were returning to the base, at 8:25 pm. (according to EXIF data).

There was a TV team there and was filming everything around. Moreover, there were other people with cameras of better kind than mine, therefore it's possible that also they could catch some anomalous images" - said the witness.

The second one photo depicts triangular formation of bright round objects

After visual analyze of magnified images from the air show, we cannot find any clues indicating the nature of the object seen on the first one. The saucer-shaped object doesn't exhibit any features that may indicate that it is a bird or any known kind of other aircraft. It must also be said that the object demonstrated unusual flight abilities.

Neither the first nor the second anomalous sight probably weren't seen by any of the viewers present at the site. Although 2007 was a year with considerably small number of UFO reports from Poland, presented photos are one of the most intriguing ones.

Similar cases of unidentified objects images taken during air shows are often reported in Poland. Although images from Malta can be placed amongst the more interesting ones.

They include the files from both waves of release.

As you can see there are hundreds of reports. Barely a week has gone by in the last decade without someone reporting a UFO. They're a bit consice; just the date, town, county and a one sentance description, but it's still worth a browse. This is just the tip of the iceberg I'm sure, because how many people see them and don't report them? Me for one. I've had two sightings and I've told none of the authorities at all, only amateur UFOlogists.

This is good news, but we mustn't think that this is full Disclosure. We may get full Disclosure one day, and that this is a step towards it, but on its own it will be merely interesting, not Earth-shattering. The British MoD has declassified UFO reports before under the Freedom-of-Information Act, but it contained a few sightings reports and close encounters by RAF aircraft, nothing more. The govt can keep something classified for as long as they like if it is in the "interests of national security".

UFOs Over Wales

If reports of UFO sightings are to be believed, we are not alone. Echo reporter LAURA WRIGHT delves into South Wales’ very own X Files...

SIGHTINGS of unidentified flying objects have soared in the last month, with at least two a week seen by airline pilots in South Wales.

Dancing lights, large craft and mysterious flashes are among dozens of UFOs sighted above Cardiff and the South Wales Valleys in the last few years.

And only four days ago, on the night of Christmas Day, a couple saw spherical orange lights in the sky above their home in the capital.

According to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act, the Ministry of Defence has looked into 13 reports of UFOs in South Wales in the past three years. Several other sightings have been posted on UFO websites but it is thought that many more go unreported.

David Coggins has been a UFO investigator for 30 years and says there has been a spate of sightings in recent months.

He said: “There have been lots of reports by airline pilots flying in and out of South Wales who are seeing a lot of unidentified craft on a frequent basis, one or two a week.

“Generally speaking, they are large triangular shaped objects. It’s not just during the night but in daylight as well.

“I’ve come across people who have seen UFOs very close up, from a distance of 12 feet.”

Just three weeks ago, Martin Dupres and two friends had a close encounter when they saw a strange light in the sky in Lisvane at 5pm on Tuesday, December 11.

Martin, 43, of Riverside, Cardiff, said: “I saw an extremely bright light come straight across the sky. Then it faded out but it might have sped up.

“It wasn’t a satellite or an aeroplane. This thing was not like that. The light shone towards my eyes then carried on. I’m curious, I’ve never seen anything like it before.”

There was another sighting of a UFO at 4am on September 9 in St Mellons, Cardiff. The witness saw an incredibly bright star but it suddenly started moving up and down and side to side swiftly and then flashing lights appeared around it like cameras.

One account comes from a Cardiff man left shaken after he saw three lights dancing around each other before flying away in April 2006.

He said: “I saw something that I never believed I would. I saw what at first I thought was a plane, until it changed direction at such an acute angle. At this point it was by two more lights – they were very blurry, orange in colour. They danced around each other and then moved off.

“I don’t make silly claims. Quite frankly this has shaken me considerably.”

UFO investigator Mr Coggins, 67, of Pontypridd, hypnotises people who have seen UFOs and then experienced periods of missing time.

Mr Coggins, who is featured in the alien encounter book Does It Rain In Other Dimensions, said: “Strange as it may seem, people who had seen a UFO close up have ended up on the crafts and while they’ve been on, strange things happen to them such as medical examinations.

“They don’t remember until they are hypnotised. One man in South Wales had lost one-and-a-half days. He recounted what had happened under hypnosis and when I played him back the tape, he broke down in tears and said ‘did that happen to me?’. It’s impossible not to believe in it.

“UFOs are seen as a joke but it’s almost an absolute certainty they exist and are visiting this earth on a regular basis.”

The MoD examines UFO reports to establish whether what was seen has any defence significance.

A spokeswoman said: “We believe that rational explanations, such as aircraft lights or natural phenomena, could be found for them if resources were diverted for this purpose.”

Good observation, definately could be a bird. I deal with pictures from various cities for a GPS company and I've seen tons of birds/planes/insects that could be mistaken for something else. There are times when I come across pics that leave me scratching my head though. Especially when I track an object over 100 photos that doesn't seem to move at all.

There's a new show coming next month to the History Channel called "UFO Hunters". Looks like it might be a good one! They've done some decent work in the past with their UFO files so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

A mysterious "flying Dorito-shaped" object which was seen by dozens of people just before Christmas has been spotted again * this time in the skies above Lower Gornal.

The strange unexplained flying object was seen by residents in Wallows Wood, off The Straits, at around 6.15pm on Tuesday.

Householders described the object as looking like an "arrowhead" with three orange lights arranged in the shape of an isosceles triangle.

Residents watched it move slowly across the sky before it disappeared from view in the direction of Wolverhampton.

It is the second time the triangular object has been spotted flying over the Black Country in recent weeks.

Scores of people contacted the Express & Star after seeing a UFO in the skies above Wednesfield and Dudley in December and Stourbridge-based UFO Research Midlands was deluged with calls and emails from onlookers who witnessed the object.

Lower Gornal resident Peter Wasdell, aged 57, said he could not believe his eyes when he saw the object.

"The dog started barking and when my wife went outside to find out what was going on she saw the object in the sky and called me out to have a look," he said.

"There were three orangey lights in a triangle formation. They weren't shaped like an equilateral triangle, more like an isosceles triangle, and shaped like an old fashioned arrow head. I don't think it was a plane because we didn't hear any noise.

"My daughter and her boyfriend and the next door neighbours all saw them and we watched them for about 15 minutes before they disappeared behind the trees."

Paranormal enthusiast Craig Lowe, who is a member of the Birmingham UFO group, said the area was a "hotspot" for unexplained activity. Mr Lowe, who captured December's sighting on videotape, said he believed the object could be some sort of military aircraft.

Birmingham International Airport spokesman John Morris said the airport took all reports of UFOs seriously. "We had a couple of inquiries before Christmas following the first sightings over Halesowen," he revealed.

Moscow, Jan 9 : An unidentified flying object fell in the Belaya river in the May district in the Pavlodar region, northern Kazakhstan, a source with the regional emergency situations department said, referring to an eye-witness.

The chief of a local police department saw a shining flying object falling in the river in the early hours of January 5, the source said, adding that the policeman ''reported about it to higher authorities.'' According to the emergency situations department, divers examined a 15-meter air hole and officers of the local sanitary and epidemic office took water samples, Interfax agency reported.

''Divers plunged four times, but no objects were found. Water samples are normal,'' the department said.

Meanwhile, Lyubov Rybalko, an ufologist and the head of the Asur public organisation, told Interfax that an UFO cannot fall.

They ''can either land or pass through the Earth like through air.'' It is possible that an UFO splashed down in the Belaya river, the ufologist said.

The corkscrewing disc object, followed by corkscrewing black smoke, was viewed for a total of about a half-hour. Because it was in view for so long, that automatically rules out several explanations, including it was not a meteor.

Also, there have been some checks with Transport Canada and the Aviation Board and Environment Canada, the weather office there. Those agencies have all viewed the video and they don’t know what the object and dark spiral were.

Even thought it seemed like something crashing, it proceeded very far down range. So it’s difficult to say where the object would have come down, but we’re fairly certain, it was not an aircraft, it was not a helicopter. The corkscrew moving pattern is very curious. You can see it in some detail within the video. It’s very puzzling. We have no idea at this time what the identification of the object is.

The sun already was setting and darkness falling. She even got her binoculars out and she did not think that it was a cloud. Her first impression was an airplane in trouble, however she said that it stayed in the same position and hardly moved. Although she has a good camera, since it was getting quite dark, she had difficulties holding the camera still enough to take the picture. She said that she was not 100% positive, but looking at it, she thought that twice she saw a flashing light on the inside of the shape (but was not certain).

She told me that it stayed pretty well in the same place for at least 45 minutes. Apparently it moved slowly - very slowly in a northerly direction, which is odd since our prevailing wind normally comes from the northwest. This would make it going against the wind.

She also told me that this shape was truly pitch black and really stood out against the sky, which is what got her attention. She said that it was much blacker then it showed in her pictures. She figured the distance from her home to the object at several miles, maybe more.”

Did they maybe photograph a UFO over Nordwestmecklenburg? “No,” Eilleen and Virgina said because they don't want to be ridiculed. Their best guess is that space debris went into the atmosphere and glowed.

The German Meteorological Service Potsdam excluded the possibility that a weather satellite went down: “We are not missing a satellite. Besides that, such a crash wouldn't cause that kind of phenomenon,” says Detmar Hartwig from the German Meteorological Service Potsdam.

Dozens in Texas town report seeing UFO

STEPHENVILLE, Texas - In this farming community where nightfall usually brings clear, starry skies, residents are abuzz over reported sightings of what many believe is a UFO.

Several dozen people — including a pilot, county constable and business owners — insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it.

"People wonder what in the world it is because this is the Bible Belt, and everyone is afraid it's the end of times," said Steve Allen, a freight company owner and pilot who said the object he saw last week was a mile long and half a mile wide. "It was positively, absolutely nothing from these parts."

While federal officials insist there's a logical explanation, locals swear that it was larger, quieter, faster and lower to the ground than an airplane. They also said the object's lights changed configuration, unlike those of a plane. People in several towns who reported seeing it over several weeks have offered similar descriptions of the object.

Machinist Ricky Sorrells said friends made fun of him when he told them he saw a flat, metallic object hovering about 300 feet over a pasture behind his Dublin home. But he decided to come forward after reading similar accounts in the Stephenville Empire-Tribune.

"You hear about big bass or big buck in the area, but this is a different deal," Sorrells said. "It feels good to hear that other people saw something, because that means I'm not crazy."

Sorrells said he has seen the object several times. He said he watched it through his rifle's telescopic lens and described it as very large and without seams, nuts or bolts.

Maj. Karl Lewis, a spokesman for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Joint Reserve Base Naval Air Station in Fort Worth, said no F-16s or other aircraft from his base were in the area the night of Jan. 8, when most people reported the sighting.

Lewis said the object may have been an illusion caused by two commercial airplanes. Lights from the aircraft would seem unusually bright and may appear orange from the setting sun.

"I'm 90 percent sure this was an airliner," Lewis said. "With the sun's angle, it can play tricks on you."

Officials at the region's two Air Force bases — Dyess in Abilene and Sheppard in Wichita Falls — also said none of their aircraft were in the area last week. The Air Force no longer investigates UFOs.

One man has offered a reward for a photograph or videotape of the mysterious object.

About 200 UFO sightings are reported each month, mostly in California, Colorado and Texas, according to the Mutual UFO Network, which plans to go to the 17,000-resident town of Stephenville to investigate.

Fourteen percent of Americans polled last year by The Associated Press and Ipsos say they have seen a UFO.

Erath County Constable Lee Roy Gaitan said that he first saw red glowing lights and then white flashing lights moving fast, but that even with binoculars could not see the object to which the lights were attached.

"I didn't see a flying saucer and I don't know what it was, but it wasn't an airplane, and I've never seen anything like it," Gaitan said. "I think it must be some kind of military craft — at least I hope it was."

Last tuesday evening at approx 5.25 pm my girlfirend was driving back home after taking her daughter shopping .The road to our house is dark aand semi islolated not much traffic on it at any tiem really .Hers was the only car on the road at that time .She noticed a couple of lights in the sky turning towards her as she drove but then they came down lower bout twice the height of the houses so she opened the window thinking it was a helicopter not the plane as she first thought .There was absoultely no sound and as the object went overhead she had slowed to about a few miles per hour she saw it was an elongated triangle about the length of 4 or 5 buses .It sailed overhead and went off out towards the sea towards sandown area of the isle of wight .She was shouted and very animated when she came in i have never seen her that animated before !
the annoying thing was it was about a couple of hundred yards from our door if i had been looking out for her car coming back i would of seen it .
our neighbour who is into UFo phenomena since a sighting in the 60,s said the area is known for it he asked me if it was i nth e area she saw it befor e itold him about it .The craft she said had 2 lights underneath and had a blue tinge around the edge of it like led type lights .havent heard of anyone else posting about this on the south coast , i was waiting for her to post the report herself first , but here it is anyway .Government craft or alien ? any ideas :D

What I have noticed is the increasing number of people reporting these triangles from all over the world. I don't know if they're making themselves visible on purpose or if they just don't care if they're seen at this point. Cool report, thx for sharing.

A cellphone report received on Saturday 01.12.08. Domingo Morales phoned Andrew Alvarez to make a report on sightings in the City of Ponce. Mr. Alvarez told him to phone me. Mr. Morales reported the following:

1. His brother, a resident of Valle Alta, Ponce, told him that on Friday, January 4 2008 at 9:30 p.m,., his wife called him over to look at a fireball over their house. Upon going outside , he saw an immense ball of red fire. The wife didn't see it approach, rather she saw it suddenly appear and light up on the spot. It remained static for some 20 minutes at an approximate altitude of 300 feet. It spent 20 minutes lighting on and off. The fireball finally diminished the intensity of its color and began moving SW in a zig-zag pattern, going up and down. It had the apparent size of a baseball stadium floodlight.

2. On Saturday January 5, 2008 at 9:40 p.m., Domingo's brother phoned again, this time to have Domingo climb onto the rooftop of his house to see if it was possible for him to see the fireball, as he (the brother) was seeing it. Domingo lives in Los Caobos, but was unable to see the object from his home. According to Domingo's brother, the fireball was over the same site, above his house and exhibiting the same behavior.

At 10:40 p.m., the fireball reappeared. This time, Domingo's brother saw it with nearly all of his neighbors. One of the neighbors was able to photograph it with a cellphone. On this occasion, a twin-engine plane flew over the area 15 minutes after the fireball vanished. This [fireball] did not appear suddenly, it came in from [the town of] Adjuntas.

3. On Sunday, January 6, 2008, Domingo and his wife decided to visit Domingo's brother to see if the were lucky enough to see the fireball. Just as they got out of the car, at 9:30 p.m., they saw two white balls of light to the SW which appeared to be joined. They looked like two orbs to the naked eye, but binoculars revealed them to be two plate like objects joined together. These were higher up, at some 5000 feet. (Domingo is a pilot, and is therefore able to calculate altitude better than the average witness). In plain sight they looked like two joined golf balls. They separated a minute later -- one heading south and another to the north.

5 minutes later, Domingo phone FURA [P.R. police aerial reconnaissance] and was told that they were going to send their helicopter for a look. Domingo never saw the helicopter engage in a fly-over. Domingo recalls that while he observed the two orbs, a woman and her daughters stopped to ask him if they were seeing the fireballs. She added that the fireballs had been visible since November in that location, becoming apparent between 9-10 p.m. and as early as 5 p.m.

4. No sightings were reported on Monday, January 7.

5. Today, Saturday, January 12, Domingo will return with a camera in an effort to take pictures of the objects.

She was thinking governemnt at first but when she watched it go overhead she said it shimmered like it was underwater or maybe coming in from another dimension , i never put that earlier as she was out at the time .That made me also think hologram? would a hologram work at night time especially if it was largely black maybe that could account for the lack of sound just a thought , but then where would the source be it would need to be close by or would it more questions than answers to that one also could you project a hologram from above to be seen from underneath :confused::D

Shimmering underneath as well? That is definately a sight she'll never forget. I've ran the hologram idea through my brainpan many times as well. Who knows what technology we've got at this point? It may be part of a psy-ops program or a legitimate alien craft. It's reports like yours that keep me scratching my head and looking for more information. I'm sure you already know but if either of you would like to document the sighting there are a lot of sites out there that would love to have it. I visit this one often...

Mystery signal picked up in Puerto Rico

Has E.T. Made A Call?

BERKELEY, Calif. -- Across the globe, researchers searching for signs of life in space were abuzz this week with word that a mystery signal has been picked up by a giant radio-telescope in Puerto Rico.

Now the dilemma is -- how do you answer it?

Dan Wertheimer of the UC Berkeley SETI Project, said the dilemma is compounded by the fact that the signal may never be completely decoded.

"We probably won't be able to decode it," he said. "We'll know something's out there, but we won't know much about their civilization."

Meanwhile, Seth Shostak of the SETI Institute, said he was hopeful that future technical advances will eventually point scientists in the right direction.

"I'm cautiously optimistic we'll find something by the year 2025," Shostak said.

Later this year, scientists were scheduled to gather to determine what the return message should be.

"Personally, I'm not worried about signaling our presence to the stars, to begin with maybe the aliens are friendly, maybe they're hostile who knows," Shostak said. "But even if they're hostile, it's a long way to go -- to come here and molest us."

According to the famous Drake Equation, astronomers estimate there are an estimated 10,000 intelligent civilizations just in our galaxy, the nearest one is likely very far away, but many scientists urge caution when it comes to initiating contact.

They say it may be foolish, even dangerous for earth to assume we know all the risks.

"I don't think earthlings should transmit messages right now," Wertheimer said. "We're an emerging civilization; we're just getting in the game… We're just learning how to do this and we really don't know what we're up to, so we need to be careful."

When asked on the street, Bay Area residents voiced a variety of messages that should be sent.

Oakland's Elvis Meeker suggested a simple warm greeting.

"Hello, welcome," he said.

Jonathan Harding, of Oakland, had a lighthearted response.

"Don't eat us," he said.

Samantha Swing suggested asking for help in solving the planet's problems.

"Any materials you'd like to give us to help… We're running out of oil," she said.

Whatever the message, a recent poll revealed that people wanted one to be sent out. So now scientists will gather to figure out what that message will be.

The radio host tried to brush it off as the Marfa lights (caused by car headlights)...but the reporter corrected them both and said this was unlike either of those explanations. Good for him. I listened to the program last night and to say I came away a bit confused is an understatement.

First he said it wasn't the Puerto Rico dish that picked up the signal, it was one in Australia. Next he said the signal wasn't picked up last week like the original tv report said... but instead an entire month ago. He then went on to talk about misquotes and confusion among SETI members about what was happening. In short, it took him 2 minutes to downplay the entire event. Why did a reputable news site get involved in the first place? :confused:

Bottom line is there was a signal picked up unlike any other they have ever heard. They mentioned decoding the signal, how they were unsure how to answer it and even went as far as mentioning another civilization.

All of this left me wondering how the hell they would have their act together if another signal was picked up. Towards the end of the interview he was asked about government interference to keep such knowledge away from the public. He admitted there would be nothing SETI could do and they would have to follow whatever orders were given.

My mind is going 20 different directions on this case...when that happens it tells me something doesn't add up.

Has a SETI Signal Been Detected
A news story from television station KTVU, Oakland (California) that appeared on the internet on January 15 has led some to believe that a credible radio signal from space may have been recently detected - a signal that might be ascribable to extraterrestrial intelligence.

This story, while obviously exciting, is somewhat misleading, and derives from some miscommunication between the reporter and Dan Werthimer, who runs the University of California, Berkeley SETI program.

Dan was describing Berkeley's new instrumentation for detecting very short radio pulses - a signal type that might be used by extraterrestrials to "ping" our world to get attention. He also mentioned the detection of such a pulse, a few months ago (not "last week", as reported in the internet story). That pulse was actually recorded by the Parkes Radio Telescope, in New South Wales, Australia several years ago during a search for pulsars, but only recently looked at by researchers at West Virginia University as they sifted through these old data. Their results were published on September 27 of last year.

The sudden burst of radio energy lasted only 0.005 seconds, and had spectral characteristics that suggested that it was from a distant galaxy, probably billions of light-years from us. Since the burst was seen only once, it is as yet unclear what produced it, although many scientists suspect that it was caused by the collision of two highly dense neutron stars. Radio astronomers are planning a search for more such radio bursters, as they may be a new (and clearly interesting) type of natural phenomenon.

This signal doesn't seem to have anything to do with SETI searches (and wasn't found as part of any such search), although until more "bursters" are found, its true nature will remain mysterious. It is certainly not claimed to be a SETI detection. For such a claim to be made, a signal would have to not only have the characteristics of a deliberate transmission, but would also need to be observed more than once - in order to verify its position on the sky, and to rule out the kind of brutal cosmic event that is probably responsible for the burst reported in September.

Full Description of event/sighting: While driving south on 270 heading towards Washington, DC, still about 40 miles form DC I saw a very large beam of light appear on the horizon slightly south east of the Highway. I could tell this beam of light was about 5 miles away. I could see the outline of the hill in front of it. Visibility that night was clear but the clouds were low enough that when the light appeared I could clearly see where it met the clouds. To give you a scope of how big it was, it was as if there were a thousand spotlights all in the same spot turned on at the same time for just a second then it was gone. The FedEx stadium, the football stadium is in that general direction but there where no football games that night, and even when there are I've never seen a large cylinder of light shining above, around or through that area. I called local radio stations and T.V. news stations to report this, but they thought I was nuts.

Last night, January 18 2008 at 10:15 p.m. on the coastal sector of Guanica (southwestern Puerto Rico) an enormous classic "flying saucer" object was reported, with hundreds of rows of red lights surroudning it. Before the sighting, the witnesses alleged -- and I confirm what they said -- having heard an airplane flying overhead at exactly that time, as I was watching television at that hour. The witnesses were more numerous in the upper area of Vivones when they observed the transit of the airplane, followed by this round, enormous flying artifact with red lights.
The object rested for several minutes on a nearby hill, at very low altitude, nearly treetop level, blinding witnesses with its red lights. Among them were Roberto Garcia and wife Patricia, who tried to photograph the object with their cell phone but didn't manage to obtain an image. Other local residents were frightened and unable to sleep that night after the object took off toward Lajas at high spped. The witnesses told me that this is not the first case that they've seen in the at this hour of the night.
The object made no sound whatsoever, the night was clear and full of stars, and the aerostat could be seen at low altitude and in the distance. It is impossible to mistake the Lajas Aerostat with the object reported by the witnesses.
We will be on the lookout for more witnesses to this interesting event.

If that is a reflection it seems to be coming from the cloudcover and not the airplane window. I'm not a frequent flyer by any means so I'm not sure :confused:

I wish all UFO sightings had that kind of video quality.

Yes the more I look at this the more it looks like it's all going on at the outside of the plain.
Seems to be a big glowing sphere between the highest layer of skies. Definetly no reflection IMO either.

The more I watch this one the more I agree with you. Is it even possible for the sun to reflect off the cloudcover? If it were you'd think the reflection would change as the clouds change in shape. It does seem to be a very bright object just below the top layer of clouds. I wonder if the pilots or other passengers saw it. Cool stuff!

Full Description of event/sighting: I am reporting this because I read a report on the RENSE web site of yours that sounds like what I encountered at my home a few years ago.

Driving south to my home I noticed no unusual lights as I approached my driveway. I made a right 90 degree turn to the west and drove two hundred feet to my garage. To the northwest of my location as I faced west was a huge floodlight on the other side of my barn that sits 200 feet to the north.

What I saw was a humongous beam of light going straight up, or coming straight down. My immediate reaction was to back out of my driveway to see what the neighbor was doing with so much light.

It took only ten or so seconds to back out of my driveway and look down the street. No lights were coming from my neighbors house out from the normal house light.

I drove into my driveway again and to my surprise, no light was now present. Nothing now out of the ordinary.

I was scared to move, I was almost to scared to even breathe.

The light I saw was so strong, it light up the air like a search light you see at a mall opening or other public event to attract attention.

The next day I went to Google and printed out a satellite map of my area and I made a map of what it was I saw. No street or yard lights or buildings are in the path of what I saw with my eyes for over a mile. It was not possible for what I saw to be an anomaly of a neighbors yard lights, as the points of these do not line up.

I am still frightened to drive home every night when I come home from work.

I will never forget what I saw nor will I ever go back to being the same.

I would estimate the amount of light I saw to be the equivalent of ten thousand train headlights. I would guess the width of the beam from side to side was in the range of fifty feet across to a great deal more than that. If the light behind my barn was a mile away or more, the width of the beam might have been measured in miles rather than feet.

I know what I saw was real, but I do not know what it was that I saw at 3:00am in the morning.

I do not drink, nor do I use drugs. However if I ever see this again at 3:00am, I might start!

DUBLIN, Texas (CBS 11 News) ― The military now says it was training over Stephenville the night dozens of people reported seeing UFOs.

But a video surfaced yesterday of the so-called sighting.

The man who captured the alleged UFO did not want to be identified, so he handed the video over to Seven Allen, a private pilot.

In response to the military's explanation of the UFO sightings, Allen said, "It's terrible they can't keep track of ten F-16s better than that. I can tell you where my dog is at the moment."

In the video, the UFO constantly changes shape. "It probably has the ability to do what it pleases," Allen said.

Full Description of event/sighting: Hello Brian, I hope all is well with you. I was traveling south on 69/75 taking a short cut from Missouri to Texas and avoiding the toll roads. The weather was clear and the skies were lit up with star light. I first noticed a single red light in the sky but at first thought it to be the lights that mark the many metal towers that dot the landscape there until I realized it was increasing in size. In a few seconds it was obvious that the thing was headed right for me and the other vehicles on the road. The color of red was unusual and it was pulsating. I slowed my car to about 45 mph and watched as it grew in size then revealed the color of green, then the shape became clear, a triangle.

As it passed over me I witnessed the incredible detail of it. The green was the running lights on the underside away from but along all three sides, but they did not meet at the three corners. The color of the craft was a dull silver and in the center was this amazing globe of red, pulsating light. The red globe took up most of the underside of this thing, and it looked as if it were not solid but some type of gas that swirled with a strange pattern, the only way I can think to describe the pattern would be that of a rose that were just opening, the petals still tightly grouped. I estimate that it glide over me at an altitude of about 3,000 feet. The shape was longer than wider maybe twice the length of a commercial plane flying at that same altitude. It was Big. As it approached and I could see that it was more than just a ball of light it looked as if it gently tilted one side to the other as if banking ever so slightly. Once it passed over head and was in back of me the details of the craft disappeared and eventually became just a pulsating globe of red light for miles. It glided above the road, following the curves in the road heading north almost as if it were there to be seen.

Hi everyone, I'm new to the icke forum and I just want to describe 2 weird events that happened in my life thus far regarding ufos.

The 1st time was a saturday night around 10pm in late august of 2005 in Val-d'Or Quebec:

I was standing behind my girlfriend's place talking to a friend of hers' when she stopped me and pointed up in the sky to what looked like a reddish orange satellite. I remember saying to myself "oh, this is just a satellite, I've seen thousands before". As I began watching, it moved at typical satellite speed, but then it suddenly started maneuvering in unpredictable intellligently controlled zigzag patterns. It accelerated at tremendous speeds, stopping on a dime and reversing almost the same way it seemed to have come. It zigzagged across the sky for what seemed like almost a minute then shot off like a shooting star.

Of course seeing something like this awakened a new way of looking at the world. Whether or not it was extraterrestrial or military is anybody's guess, but the fact remains this technology exists in our skies. After extensive research in the subject I found out that these sightings are quite common.
But when it comes down to it, really....how many of us spend more than 2 minutes a night staring at the sky ?

I know a few people who've seen them including a cigar shape craft a month ago in Abitibi Quebec. I met a russian pilot who flew for 33 years who was forced to sign a paper stating that if he'd ever see anything to say nothing. His english isn't good but he described one he saw as a flying plate.

The 2nd time my girlfriend and i were driving south from quebec to Niagara Falls for new years a few weeks ago when driving highway 11 south just north of Barrie, Ontario we saw a bright light above the town ahead of us. We locked our eyes on it for at least 30 seconds while we were driving, then it totally blinked out. It was the afternoon so it was light out and we saw an airplane not too far from us with no lights at all(as it would be difficult to detect a light in the daytime on any aircraft). This object was intensely bright hovering above the outskirts of town and just vanished with no trace of where it disappeared to.

This is very similar to a sighting I had with my parents and brother when I lived in Colorado. We were all outside on our deck checking out some rare northern lights for that area. We saw what we assumed was a satellite moving in a straight line. It was a white dot and looked like most satellites you see crossing the sky...only when it got to the point where it was directly over our heads the thing split into 5 white dots and they all shot out in every direction like a star shape...then they all vanished. This was definately not a shooting star, I mean we watched the thing for a good 15 seconds before this happened.

Falling Object Stops Dead, Hovers Over Orange/LA Counties

HBCC UFO Research Note: From what I have received, and also hearing, is that a major UFO sighting took place in California on January 26, 2008. People saw the UFO from Orange And LA County, Sky Over Anaheim and witnesses from Brea, California. I was told as you will read in one of the reports below, is that the witness pulled into a shopping center to buy groceries and many people were standing around watching the unusual event unfold.

Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location of Sighting: Orange and LA County.

Full Description of event/sighting: My husband and I were driving approximately west bound at about 6:00pm PST. In the sky was a bright, glowing light falling toward earth with a bright tail of light. First thought that it was a falling star, but both of us realized it was huge and too close to the earth for that and said to each other, its going to crash into the earth. Then it stopped falling and appeared to hover, the tail of light extinguished and the main ball of light remained very bright. It faded in and out and then traveled horizontally very quickly. Another glowing light seemed to be circling around it in a wide pattern.
Both very bright lights, brighter than airplane headlights. Farther away from these two was another light, blue, and very small. It seemed to be circling these in a very wide pattern and we thought it to be airplane watching the phenomenon. We didn't pull over and kept driving toward them, but, they got lower to the horizon and we lost sight of them behind trees as the road we were on dipped. When we got back to an unobstructed spot, the lights were gone. The event lasted about 5-10 minutes. Despite the highly visible, quite spectacular and unusual display in the night sky, not one report of it could be found on news stations or in the OC Register. In discussing it's location, we estimate that it was approximately 50 miles away which would make it over LA County even though we were seeing it from Orange County.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was getting ready to enter the 57 Fwy South from Imperial Hwy in Brea, Ca. when I saw what initially appeared to be a falling start. With in second from the first sighting a second flame looking light flew in the same direction of the first. They would stop and a bright light would emerge and than start moving again. Every time they started to move, it looked like a ball/tail of fire. I saw an aircraft that was initially heading North start to circle the area and that is when the objects vanished. I have never seen anything like this. My wife and kids also saw the same objects. I stayed up most of the night thinking of what It was that I saw and so I decided to search the internet. This is how I found your site.

Please provide any information that you may have. I am very interested on what is happening over our skies.

Full Description of event/sighting: I was on my way to the HAT in Brea to pick up some food for my family. I seen these lights in the sky and at first I thought it was a meteoroid rock falling in the sky until they started actually going back and forth. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me, then I seen one of the lights disappear and then the other, within a few seconds they both reappeared. I had called my boyfriend at 5:50p.m.and told him what I had seen, he didn't believe it. I really thought I was seeing things and when I pulled into the HAT parking lot I seen all these other cars parked and staring into the sky. The objects seem to keep falling down and I had noticed what seemed to be a plane circling around them. I really don't know what it was but it kind freaked me out.

Brea, California Another Witness Reports Seeing Falling UFO - Hovering
Date: January 26, 2008
Time: Approx: 6:00 p.m.
I was heading west on Orangethorpe Ave when I looked out my window and noticed a bright light with a tail falling from the sky. Thinking it was a falling star I looked away expecting it to be gone, but to my surprise the glowing light was floating, sitting in one spot. As I continued driving I kept shifting my focus to the object and watched it move very quickly horizontally about 3 to 4 times, each time leaving a tail of bright light behind. Then the light turned off for about 10 to 15 seconds and then turned back on, and started moving back and forth 2 more times. I then lost sight of the object when my view became obstructed for about a minute or so. The date was Saturday the 26 of January at approximately 6:00 p.m. I would say the whole event lasted about 7 minutes, in which I was able to call someone and drive several miles. If there is anything else I can do let me know. Thank you.

HBCC UFO Research Note: I received an email from Mr. John B. McKay's daughter, who related "just" what was told to her by her Father. No more, no less as she mentioned. I also asked Mr. McKay's daughter about what to do about her name, should I remove it, or leave it in the report. She told me it was fine to leave her name in this report. I thank Sheri very much for her kindness in writing to me and for the information she provided in her report.

Born in Portsmouth, Virginia; married with eight children. US Navy pilot in World War II. Received a BS from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1950. He joined NACA in 1951 as a D-558 and X-1 test pilot. Project pilot on F-100, F-102, F-104, F-107 NACA test programs before being assigned as third NASA X-15 pilot on October 25, 1961. Made 29 X-15 flights, reaching an altitude of 90 km and obtaining astronaut wings, before being seriously injured in the 1962 X-15 crash near Lancaster, California. Died of liver damage stemming from his crash injuries at the age of 52.

John B. McKay was one of the first pilots assigned to the X-15 flight research program at NASA's Flight Research Center, Edwards, Calif. As a civilian research pilot and aeronautical engineer, he made 30 flights in X-15s from October 28, 1960, until September 8, 1966. His peak altitude was 295,600 feet, and his highest speed was 3863 mph (Mach 5.64).

McKay was with the NACA and NASA from February 8,1951 until October 5, 1971 and specialized in high-speed flight research programs. He began as an NACA intern, but assumed pilot status on July 11, 1952. In addition to the X-l5, he flew such experimental aircraft as the D-558-1, D-558-2, X-lB, and the X-lE. He has also served as a research pilot on flight programs involving the F-100, F-102, F-104, and the F-107.

Born on December 8, 1922, in Portsmouth, Va., McKay graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 195O with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. During World War II he served as a Navy pilot in the Pacific Theater, earning the Air Medal and Two Clusters, and a Presidential Unit Citation.

McKay wrote several technical papers, and was a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, as well as the Society of Experimental Test Pilots.

Dear Brian, I just received the UFO article from my cousin.. I am writing to say that my father, John B. McKay, who had a twenty year career as a test-pilot at Edwards Air Force Base starting in 1951, told me that he had also seen, while flying, objects that appeared to be UFO's. My father did not work for the military, he worked for NASA, and has an astronaut rating for going into space in the X-15 rocket plane. These are the details of his conversation with me, nothing more or less to it:

What Sheri McKay was told by her Father

One night while I was home for a visit, in the early 1970's, after my father was retired from NASA, he and I were having a conversation in the evening hours after dinner. I don't recall how the subject came up, but he told me that during his flying career, and on more than one occasion, he had seen objects in the sky, while flying, that appeared to be UFO's, that some other pilot's had also seen what appeared to be UFO's, and that they were not allowed to talk about it. He did not go into any further detail, and I don't remember asking any questions, but I did get the feeling that he wanted to tell someone, and I think the fact that he was already retired, and had just had a couple of gin martinis that evening made it easier to do so. And after reading about the experience of Mr. Edwards, and how he was treated in such an unkind manner by the military, I don't mind telling someone myself. As for my personal views, I am neither for or against the idea of UFO's. But I do think that the subject should be stripped of all sensationalism and cover-ups, and be approached on the highest level of scientific inquiry. Sincerely, Sheri McKay Lowe.

Mexico - Black Objects Surround Japanese 747 Airliner

An Japan Airlines Boeing 747-400 was surrounded by 20 spherical objects in the San Mateo Air Corridor in the vicinity of the Satellite Towers in the state of Mexico. This report was provided to researcher Alfonso Salazar by technical personnel of the MCIA who had direct access to crew information. The airliner's registration number is JA-880.
The sighting took place on January 24, 2008 at 6:30 in the evening, when the Japanese airliner flew the Vancouver-Mexico City route.
The witnesses specified that the flying objects were black-colored and divided into two groups.
It should be noted multiple encounters between UFOs and airliners have been reported in this air corridor.

This here strikes me as real deal footage. There have been so many of these silver orbs/orbs of light sightings that it makes me wonder if they are probes used for research, surveillance and data gathering. However, you'd think such devices would be more stealthy and not so obviously "present" with flashing lights and multiple numbers.

Any ideas out there about these kind of orbs?

Mexico - Luminous UFO Lands At Cerro Pie de Minas

The city of Chilpancingo (state of Guerrero's) La Cronica Vespertina newspaper reported the sighting of an unknown light that landed at Cerro Pie de Minas, emitting flashes for over 30 hours and causing alarm among the locals.

The event took place in the early morning hours of December 31, 2007 in the town of Mezcala, Guerrero. According to the news report from journalist Francisco Rangel, dated January 10, 2008, the phenomenon was observed by the entire town, cutting across all ages ranging from children to senior citizens and including mining engineers and laborers at the Los Filos gold mine.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that drivers halted their vehicles all the way to the Federal Highway in order to take a look at the intense light source that traveled across various parts of the locality at an estimated altitude of 300 meters. They describe a saucer-shaped craft that passed over the town square slowly and silently before landing on a hill known as Pie de Minas, where it emitted flashes for over 30 hours.

According to the newspaper story, witnesses to the phenomenon complained of eye irritation despite the fact that they saw it at a considerable distance. Not only that, but there is also talk of fluctuations in the level of electric power in spite of the fact that no voltage changes were detected at the electric substation belonging to the Comision Federal de Electricidad.

Many people took photos and videos with their cameras and cellphones, but their recordings were affected and distorted by an alleged magnetic force. They added that even the pictures taken with analog cameras were overexposed.

According to the newspaper article: "The object was seen by most of the population, ranging from small children to the elderly and entire families, seen at considerable distances by the luminosity that affected the eyes of many residents and the fact that the electric levels of all the homes dropped whenever the light's intensity increased, ranging from a soft shade of light blue to a white and phosphorescent blue, acquiring yellow, orange and soft red tones...."

Many video recordings exist in spite of this, taken by people who managed to record it from their homes at a distance of 4 or 6 kilometers away. The footage shows a round light, whether white or light blue, with strange figures at its core that were described-- by those who peered at the object through binoculars * as something resembling a cat or a being with horns, causing the greatest degree of fear among the locals, rendering them unable to sleep for the two following nights. The sighting was not made known beyond the confines of the town until the first days of this week, although reports of alleged meteorite activity had been received from Amojileca and Xochipala on January 1st. Residents of Mezcala say that the inclement weather * strong, cold winds * could have been caused by the luminous UFO which appeared to have landed on the hill known as Pie de Mina in the wilderness known as "La V", from where it was filmed by many locals with their diminutive Handycams and who were clearly afraid that something awful would happen, or that the vehicle's crew would harm them.

Alfonso Ramirez Maya, 35, a farmer and board-layer, had a chance to film the UFO with his video camera and his daughter's cell phone. He showed us the images taken, and those in which the light can be seen moving, but with deformations of the images on the cellphone. The white light resembles a balloon that changes shape, despite their best efforts at remaining steady. The images were obtained from their house on Calle Francisco Villa n/n, Colonia Cabeza de Culebra, 5 km from the sighting one kilometer distant from the Mexico City * Acapulco Federal Highway that passes through Mezcala.

Another person who had the opportunity to record a video was Jesus Santana Hernandez, who filmed the UFO as it flew over the community, but sent the video to Houston so that a relative could make it known through a local TV station, since some thought they could profit from selling the images. However, the majority of the locals who have the evidence are hesitant to disclose it, as they do not wish to earn themselves a poor reputation or be dismissed as lunatics.

However, they are all willing to discuss the experience after being told that an effort is underway to document the sighting, and even willing to accompany a research group to the site, as it is a rugged terrain filled with rattlesnakes and scorpions. Many of the people interviewed, among whom were serious individuals of all ages, youths and even children, offered interpretations of the story that agreed with one another's regarding the sighting of the light on the hill and its transit over the community of Mezcala, further agreeing with the fear and consternation they experienced for the 30-hour span in which the "flying saucer" was present.

Many residents of this community stated that there were several occasions in which some people tried to reach the place where the UFO touched down. In the night and evening of January first, when up to 20 or 30 pickup trucks laden with people tried to reach the sight were the light could be seen, the light simply went dark. There exists, however, the report of a group that came within fifty meters of the vessel described as a flying saucer, whose color was similar to that of brilliant, galvanized sheet metal, with a whitish or light blue light. These people brought with them video and still cameras, but their vehicles were left without power, with no electricity and stalled engines. Furthermore, camera batteries were inexplicably drained despite having been charged, and returned to normal operating conditions later on.

Bold youths who dared approach the UFO clearly heard two dry, metallic sounds emerging from the interior of the alleged craft. This spooked them into hiding under their pickup trucks and even made them weep like children, as they believed the occupants would emerge to seize them. This fear prompted them to flee the site as best they could, and they refuse to talk about it.

Closer images were obtained from videos taken from the slopes of Pie de Mina * one kilometer distant * where the object can be seen as larger, resembling a large white circle of encapsulated light. Symbols can be made out, and even the shape of a face drawn on a card by another witness, having the shape of a feline or a horned being that appears to be at the center of the light.

To many businessmen in downtown Mezcala, and food vendors who witnessed the phenomenon from the early hours of December 31, also saw the gathering of people who had set out to see the UFO phenomenon and who offered their versions about what it could be. There were many who recorded videos or took photos, but after the novelty wore off, they became disaffected after making the trip in groups of pickup trucks * accompanied by two local sheriffs * without finding anything. To calm the populace down, they said [the sighting ] had been caused by the clash of high voltage wires that entwined in the strong wind.

The owner of a budget store says that sales declined because people became frightened, and that Mezcala looked "like a ghost town" as many of its residents fled out of fear, believing that harm would befall them because the vehicle remained on the hillside, emitting powerful flashes skyward even in broad daylight. There are even those who say that another light above appeared to blink, as if communicating the one below. This made them fear the worst, and contributed to restless sleep for two nights.

There is much more evidence of the extraordinary event, known as a Close Encounter of the 2nd Kind (CE-2), a variety of eyewitness accounts from an entire community stricken with terror by the tremendous light that lit all of the nearby hills, and even caused the city's own electric lights to dwindle, all of this amid strong winds and the cold nights of early 2008.

In order to reach the landing site of the luminous UFO, it is necessary to walk for several hours or reach the site on all- terrain vehicles, since there could be evidence of some sort to be found where the UFO remained for 30 hours, all the while flashing its lights.

It should be noted that the area has various mineral and metal deposits, such as uranium, cobalt, gold, silver and copper. [...] A more thorough investigation of what appears to be a genuine UFO case must be performed, verifying if there were any traces left behind at Pie de Minas hill, in the "La V" wilderness of the community of Mezcala, Municipality of Zumpango del Rio, state of Guerrero. Other reports involving strange phenomena have been received from other municipalities early this year.

On a side note, one of your earlier posts directed me through to some video interviews with Dr Dan Burisch and I spent most of yesterday watching his interviews and reading information about him and checking out there forums.

Not sure what to make of the guy myself yet, he sounded very credible.....until he started talking about the skinwalking MIB's (he lost a bit there tbh and the photo evidence he has isn't the best). What I cant get my head round is if everything he is saying is fact then why would they (TPTB) let him disclose so much information, I know he says its because hes the only one qualified to work on the Ganesh particles but I'm not sure I buy that yet.

Personally I get the feeling that hes a very dangerous man and that it could all be dis-information but like I said I'm not 100% sure to make of him yet

OUTSIDE his Newport home, a former RAF technician could not help but see a low-flying aeroplane — or was it?
Frank Webb, 69, of Terrace Road, watched as the brightly-lit craft moved from west to east across the clear night sky at around 8.20pm last night (Sunday).
But then he noticed the craft had no navigation lights and made no sound.
Mr Webb claims the craft was an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO).
“I would call it a UFO, but only because it was, to me, unidentified,” he said.
“I was in the RAF for 22 years as an engine technician, so I thought if I could hear it I could work out what it was. But there was no sound whatsoever. It was weird.”
Mr Webb said the craft, around the size of a medium-size aeroplane, was flying at between 400-500ft altitude and covered in yellow lights.
In case it was an aircraft in trouble, he contacted both the police and Southampton Airport.
Mr Webb’s wife Valerie also saw the craft.
“Valerie was with me at the time and all she can say about it is that it is weird. She came with me around the world because of my RAF career, so she knows a fair bit.
“I just wonder if anyone else saw it,” he added.

California Gets Hit With Massive UFO Sighting

On January 26, 2008 residents from Orange and LA County, Anaheim, and Brea, California were witness to a very unusual but spectacular UFO event. Numerous people watched as an object fell from the night sky and to their amazement it came to a complete stop while in flight. Most folks thought at first they were witnessing a meteor falling to earth until the object stopped and hovered, leaving everyone scratching their heads. While these objects sat and moved around the sky, aircraft were seen and appeared to be checking out these objects. As just about all of the eyewitnesses mentioned to me, they are baffled at no mention in any of the newspapers over the event, or media in general. I must admit, that makes me wonder why not, when so many people witnessed this really unusual event in the night sky.

There ended up being two extremely bright objects that sat stationary for a short time, then moved back and forth as if they were lost. I spoke to a man today on the telephone and he said it was the most bizarre thing he has ever witnessed in his life. The fellow said he lives very close to the John Wayne Airport in Orange County and has witnessed just about every fixed wing aircraft, helicopter and anything else that we would class as normal until January 26, 2008 when his beliefs were shaken. The gentleman told me he got into his vintage Datsun 280Z sport car and at a high rate of speed, he pursued the unknown objects and tried to get a better and longer view, if not a photo on his laptop webcam.

As the man watched, he realized that two of the lights were not like anything he had ever seen, and the light closest to him was what appeared to be an airplane heading toward the two much larger and much brighter objects. The objects were very large and very bright in comparison, a white-ish to yellow-ish orange color, almost flame like, at first, but much brighter and steadier than that. They were oblong shaped from his perspective. They had a definite shape, not mere points of very bright light.

There also appeared to be some sort of aircraft circling in very tight circles, as soon as these objects came to a stop at cloud base. Because of the tightness of the circles, he took it to be a helicopter. This would have made a total of four objects, the two bright steady "orbs", an airplane, and helicopter.

All this transpired in no more than 10-15 seconds. The whole formation seemed to then move in a direction away from his position, toward Los Angeles and got lower in the sky and was obscured by palm trees and buildings which were near him.

Two Other Eyewitnesses

Another couple, a husband and wife were driving west bound at about 6:00pm PST. In the sky was a bright, glowing light falling toward earth with a bright tail of light. Their first thought was, that it was a falling star, but both of them quickly realized it was huge and too close to the earth for that and said to each other, its going to crash. The object stopped falling and appeared to hover, the tail of light extinguished and the main ball of light remained very bright. It faded in and out and then traveled horizontally very quickly. Another glowing light seemed to be circling around it in a wide pattern.

Both were very bright lights, brighter than airplane landing lights and farther away from these two was another light, blue and very small. It seemed to be circling these objects in a very wide pattern and they thought it to be an airplane watching the phenomenon. They didn't pull over and kept driving toward the objects, but, they got lower to the horizon and they lost sight of them behind trees as the road dipped. When the folks got back to an unobstructed spot, the lights were gone. The event lasted about 5-10 minutes. Despite the highly visible, quite spectacular and unusual display in the night sky, not one report of it could be found on news stations or in the OC Register. The couple in discussing it's location, estimated that it was approximately 50 miles away which would make it over LA County, even though they were seeing it from Orange County.

More Witnesses: Sky Over Anaheim, California

A witness was getting ready to enter the 57 Fwy South from Imperial Hwy in Brea, California when he saw what initially appeared to be a falling star. Within seconds from the first sighting, a second flame looking light flew in the same direction as the first. They would stop and a bright light would emerge and then start moving again. Every time they started to move, it looked like a ball/tail of fire. He saw an aircraft that was initially heading north and start to circle the area and that is when the objects vanished. He has never seen anything like this. His wife and kids also saw the same objects. The man stayed up most of the night thinking of what it might have been.

Two Other Eyewitnesses

A guy and his girl friend were going to dinner before their winter formal. They were on their way to Olive Garden when they saw what looked like a comet. It was falling at first and it had a tail, giving him reason to think it was a comet. He jokingly said, oh its a UFO and as he said that it moved back up and hovered for about 30 seconds right next to another identical object. One of the objects disappeared into the clouds while the other was moving from left to right and in flat circular patterns. It did this for about three minutes until it also disappeared into the clouds.

Anaheim, California A Family Watched The UFO Event

A man's family were headed east on the 91 freeway at Beach Blvd. when his son noticed bright lights to the north-east, towards Ontario. They all watched for 3-5 minutes as 2-3 bright lights shone brightly and were stationary. Then they fell towards earth with a tail, much like a meteor. The strange thing was the objects that were falling came to a complete stop, then the light would go out, and reappear some seconds later in the same location. The husband was driving and could not focus completely on the event, but his family was in rapt attention. Traffic on the 91 freeway slowed to a crawl, which may be related to everyone watching what the folks were seeing. No mention on the news or anywhere.

Brea, California Another Eyewitness To The Strange California UFO Sighting

A lady was on her way to the HAT in Brea to pick up some food for her family. She saw the lights in the sky and at first thought it was meteoroid rocks falling, until they started actually going back and forth. She thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. She then saw one of the lights disappear and then the other, within a few seconds they both reappeared. She had called her boyfriend at 5:50 p.m.and told him what she had witnessed, he didn't believe it. The lady really thought she was seeing things and when she pulled into the HAT parking lot she saw all these other cars parked and people staring into the sky. The objects seem to keep falling down and she had noticed what seemed to be a plane circling around them. The lady doesn't know what it was, but it kind of freaked her out.

Brea, California Another Witness Reports Seeing Falling UFO - Hovering

Another witness was heading west on Orangethorpe Ave when he looked out the window and noticed a bright light with a tail falling from the sky. Thinking it was a falling star the witness looked away expecting it to be gone, but to his surprise the glowing light was floating, sitting in one spot. As he continued driving the witness kept shifting his focus to the object and watched it move very quickly horizontally about 3 to 4 times, each time leaving a tail of bright light behind. Then the light turned off for about 10 to 15 seconds and then turned back on, and started moving back and forth 2 more times. He then lost sight of the object when his view became obstructed for about a minute or so. The date was Saturday the 26 of January at approximately 6:00 p.m. He believes the whole event lasted about 7 minutes.

Brea, California Two More Witnesses To Strange UFO/Glowing Light

A witnesses and their son had just left the Brea Mall on Saturday 1/26/08. They went across the street to the Hat for dinner right before 6:00 pm. As they were turning into the parking lot facing south, they saw a line of fire across the sky. There was a small plane in the sky and at first they thought the plane was on fire. The plane continued on, and then the light looked like 2 falling flames. These then became two bright balls that were hovering in the sky. It appeared as if one of them had a tail of flames behind it. One ball disappeared and then the other appeared to start falling but disappeared from their sight. There were at least 8 people in the parking lot looking too. The son took a picture on his cell phone, but it basically looks like a glowing ball in the sky. It was a strange experience!

I was suprised at the first episode because of how hands on they were in the investigation. This particular case pre-dated Roswell and involved a sighting over the ocean of a fleet of UFOs. A fishing boat saw the fleet and noticed one seemed to be having problems. It came down lower and dumped what seemed to be molten slag into the ocean and even on top of the boat itself, breaking one of the fishermen's arms in the process. The military was called in and recovered this material from the ocean. They used a plane to transfer this stuff and it crashed in the woods during flight. During the investigation they did some diving where the event happened for samples and even found wreckage of the plane itself back on shore. They were wondering if the material had caused a fire and brought the plane down. (which ended up being the hypothesis) They also found someone who was related to one of the people involved who helped them look for the plane wreckage. Their home base of operations is an observatory...which I thought was kinda cool.

There is a new episode on tonight so I'm looking forward to that. The sci-fi channel has their new UFO Hunter show on at the same time but they repeat them later so I can see both :D

Scratch the home-base being an observatory, looks more like an ocean home but I thought the guy had a nice telescope inside.

Ricky Sorrells is frustrated and a little angry.

Since his interview with the Associated Press, Sorrells has stayed quiet regarding the daytime UFO sightings on his property near Dublin.

And, there is more than one reason for his silence.

Sorrells believes military officials have been harassing him by flying military aircraft over his property at low altitudes, at all hours of the day and night. Sorrells runs livestock on his place and said the cattle don’t react well to the disturbances. It’s also been hard to get any sleep.

Sorrells made international news along with other witnesses on Jan. 14 after the Associated Press contacted him for his story and took video of the exact spot the UFO was seen along with Sorrells’ description of the object.

Not just once, but four times, he claims to have seen the massive flying object he estimates to be the length of “three or four football fields.” He said he’s not sure about the size because the first time he saw it was the best view. At that time, the craft hovered directly over him in the woods about 300 feet above his head and his view was blocked by tree branches.

“I don’t know why it keeps coming back here,” Sorrells said.

He’s convinced that someone representing himself as a Lt. Colonel knows what it is — and Sorrells wants an explanation.

He said the man contacted him by telephone on Jan. 15, one day after his interview with the Associated Press.

“I didn’t worry about writing his name down or taking notes,” Sorrells said. “I didn’t know what was about to happen. But, I think he said he was with the Air Force.”

Sorrells said the conversation started out nice enough.

“He was sort of nice to me right off,” Sorrells said. “He asked to come and talk to me.”

Sorrells said he told the man that he needed time to think about it and then, “He (the man) became really arrogant.”

The caller told Sorrells he wasn’t taking “no” for an answer and would be out to talk to him. Sorrells again tried to politely tell the man he did not wish to have company.

After that, Sorrells said the conversation became heated and he told the man not to cross his cattle guard.

Sorrells said the man responded with, “ Son, we have the same caliber weapons as you do but a lot more of them.”

Looking back, Sorrells said he believes the man was in his area but not able to pinpoint exactly where he lived because he recently built a new home.

“I actually got up and looked out my window to see if I could see someone at the cattle guard. So I said if he was who he said he was, why didn’t he stop flying over my air space with all those helicopters,” Sorrells said. “And he informed me that it was not my air space — it was his. He told me if I’d quit talking about what I saw he would stop the helicopters.”

Sorrells said since that conversation, the helicopters have quit flying over his property but the F-16s haven’t slowed.

Before the conversation took place with the suspected military officer Sorrells related a late night experience with a large transport helicopter and three smaller helicopters.

“I get up at 2:30 a.m. to go to work and these helicopters kept flying over and I couldn’t sleep,” Sorrells said. “Because it was about time to get up and go to work, I just got up and went outside to see what I could.”

Sorrells said he has a spotlight on his pickup that he uses to look for coyotes.

“I went to my truck and turned on the spotlight and shined it up at them,” Sorrells said. “It was so close, I could see the pilot’s reaction. He threw up his arm to block the light. He was in one of the smaller helicopters.

“Then he turned toward me and I still have the light on. I started to feel uncomfortable so I turned off the light and waved and went back inside. I was thinking I had pushed the envelope.”

To top that off, Sorrells said an acquaintance, whom he would not name, and formerly a member of the military, told him, “You need to shut your mouth about what you saw.”

Sorrells said he tried to pull the man aside and asked him to explain his statement.

“He just kept saying the same thing and wouldn’t explain,” Sorrells said. “ Now he won’t speak to me.”

Sorrells said because the helicopters disappeared, he now feels the gentlemen was actually a member of the military, and was high enough in rank that he was able to stop that type of air traffic.

“If it is a military craft the American people need to know,” Sorrells said. “A lot of people have seen things around here. I know what I saw and so do they.”

AN EXPLANATION could be on the horizon in the continuing saga of UFO sightings.
According to the website Heavens Above, the silent yellow glowing light travelling from West to East could be the International Space Station (ISS).
On a clear night the satellite can look as bright as the brightest star in the sky, Sirius.
Since the County Press reported a sighting by Frank Webb a fortnight ago, other Islanders have come forward to report their own UFO experiences.
And Marion Hicks’ description of her sighting does appear to fit in with the ISS movements.
Mrs Hicks, of St Mary’s Close, Ryde, noticed a cigar-shaped light in the sky, moving West to East, over the area of Whitefield Woods.
But a more unusual experience was reported to us last week by a man who wished to remain anonymous.
The man told the County Press he has seen a triangular UFO on a regular basis for around 20 years, after first seeing it coming out of the sea off the coast of Ventnor.
He said he first saw the craft while fishing with a friend, and claims it has flown over his house, a matter of metres from his roof.
“I have seen it quite a few times. It shines a white light, mainly, but there are red and blue lights when it slows down,” he said. “There is a groove around the edge of the triangle but you cannot see any other markings. The lights are suspended below it and it looks like glass, but it isn’t.
“If you look at it through glass, you can see a white vapour trail.”
The sightings coincide with information released by the Ministry of Defence, showing the number of UFO sightings rocketing from 97 in 2006 to 135 last year.

REPORTS of UFO sightings have been flooding in, following Frank Webb’s account last week.
Mr Webb, of Terrace Road, Newport, saw a silent glowing object fly across the sky on January 27 and now several Islanders have called or e-mailed the County Press with similar tales, some dating back to August.
Three workers at Calbourne Classics, Richard McFarlane, 27, Barry Holland, 49 and Paul Westmore, 35, saw what they thought was a UFO the same day as Mr Webb’s sighting.
Mr McFarlane said: “It was a yellow ball in the sky. It had a haze around it and it wasn’t moving at all. We watched it for ages.”
But Andy Linington thinks it might well have been an aircraft.
He was near Ryde Town Hall when he saw a yellow object moving west to east, just as Mr Webb had described.
He said: “It turned and started going towards London and it wasn’t until it was above me I saw navigation lights on its nose. I think it was an aircraft.”
Jane Johnson, of Shanklin, claimed she saw UFOs twice in different places a few weeks ago. She saw one at Compton Bay, then while with her parents, Rick and Patsy Mellor, between Carisbrooke and Chillerton.
She said: “Both times, there was no noise and it moved quite slowly. It looked like an orb.”
Neil Clark, of Downend, Arreton, also said he had seen UFOs on several occasions, including once during the Bestival. He said the craft was close enough to see it looked like a diamond.
Ivan and Margaret Howes, of Lake, saw an orange object circle over their heads while watching New Year’s Eve fireworks outside their home.
Bobbie and Jock Pratt with their two daughters, Louisa and Charlotte, saw an unusual object gliding across their conservatory in St Helens over Christmas.
“They looked like illuminated kites. There were three of them in a line, very neat and tidy,” said Mrs Pratt.
In August, Brian Humphryes, of Brighstone, said he and his wife saw a balloon-shaped object “lit up like a chandelier”.

Fireball Over Polk County


POLK COUNTY, FL -- A Polk County man videotapes a strange fireball in the sky over Polk County. Rhett Marcotes and his family saw the phenomenon on January 7th just before dusk outside his home in Davenport. Marcotes and his wife grabbed their video camera and began filming. The results were stunning.

Marcotes says they couldn't figure out what it was. The filmed it for about nine minutes until it passed the tree line. They showed the tape to co-workers, friends, and family. Marcotes says everyone has a theory to the fireball over Polk County. Some said space junk, others said meteors, and some even said it was aliens.

Marcotes and his family weren't the only ones to see the fireball. Several people called 9-1-1 in Polk County to report the fire in the sky. The sheriff's office provided us copies of the tapes and you can hear them here.

We took the tape to two professors at Florida Southern College in Lakeland. That's about 30 miles from where Marcotes saw the fireball. Doctors Mossayeb Jamshid and Peter Bias say they don't believe the video shows a celestial event. They say the contrail and brightness suggest jets or engines of some sort enormously high in the atmosphere.

We also showed a copy to Stephen Nipper. He's the Manager of Planetarium and Senior Programs at the Museum of Science and Industry in Tampa.

"This video is a good example of how an ordinary object, under slightly unusual viewing conditions can present a spectacular visual (and video) image. It is definitely a condensation trail, or contrail, from a jet aircraft. There were no re-entries of space debris on that day, and no reports which
I could find in the scientific or aeronautical communities of a significant meteor entry. "

"In addition, at around 6 minutes into the video, there is a second, fainter and lower, but similar object crossing the field of view perpendicular to the path of the first object.
Also, the duration of the sighting indicates that the object was moving at a slow speed in comparison to a meteor or orbiting space debris. The speed at which the object crossed the sky is very typical of a high flying jet."

"The combination of upper atmosphere conditions which produced contrails which rapidly evaporated, along with a low angle of the Sun and the smoke in the air from the fire which got out of control, lit the contrail brightly and reddened it significantly."

Local reporter on Texas UFO case leaves newspaper; integrity of local, national news media explored

The local newspaper reporter in Stephenville, Texas, who helped cover a UFO sighting case there is no longer working at the Stephenville Empire-Tribune newspaper, effective last Thursday, Feb. 7.

Journalist Angelia Joiner had been covering the UFO story which broke early in January and brought national and international news media representatives and researchers to Stephenville, other nearby small towns and the surrounding region.

Mainstream media such as the Associated Press, CNN and other major TV networks and newspapers covered the incident with great interest. The international press also paid special attention to the UFO sightings in Stephenville and towns in the area.

Media personalities such as CNN's Larry King and NBC's Today show host Matt Lauer explored the sightings on their shows.

In Stephenville, Joiner was a staff writer at the small-town newspaper there. She did an excellent job of researching and interviewing local residents who were surprised, curious and concerned about the very unusual objects they reportedly saw.

As national and international interest in the case grew in January, Joiner was contacted for information as the reporter on the scene with some of the best knowledge of the local community.

Her articles helped inform not only local residents who relied on professional reporting for their community, but also assisted other Americans and people internationally understand that Stephenville people and residents in the area were down-to-Earth, solid and of good character.

The factual and level-headed journalism Joiner provided helped the national news media understand and respect the citizens in these communities. This resulted in some of the most serious and credible reporting in the national media on such an incident in recent memory.

The AP article was carried in hundreds of papers and news outlets. People like Larry King and Matt Lauer talked about the subject with intelligence and open minds.

All these outcomes were related in part to the high level of credibility of local witnesses who were courageous enough to come forward and the professionalism of local reporter Joiner and her colleagues in the national and international news media.

However, some of these witnesses and Joiner seem to be paying a price for doing their civic duty and communicating about an incident that appeared to be very significant, and could even have affected the public safety of the communities in the area.

CENSORSHIP AND "NEED TO KNOW"

According to information obtained for this report, management at the Stephenville Empire-Tribune did not want further coverage in the paper of the sightings by local citizens of something that appeared to be highly unusual. Pressures may have been placed on newspaper management to discontinue articles on the subject.

According to the newspaper's Web site, "The Stephenville Empire-Tribune is a mid-morning paper published six days a week by Erath Publishers, Inc., a Consolidated Southwest Media company which is owned by American Consolidated Media. The Empire-Tribune is a member of the Associated Press, Texas Press Association, West Texas Press Association and the Inland Press Association."

Publisher Rochelle Stidham and Managing Editor Sara Vanden Berge were contacted for their comments for this report but did not immediately respond.

Did the paper's management face pressures to end coverage of the UFO sighting by a local peace officer, respected businessman and pilot and reportedly dozens of other local citizens? Did they back away from accounts of local citizens who said they were apparently being threatened for talking about what they saw?

Is this a case of media censorship or self-censorship and political correctness? Is it about professional courage and moral integrity? And, can the newspaper now be trusted by the community to cover important aspects of public health and safety, local political activities and other sometimes sensitive topics?

These seem to be questions for the citizens who read and subscribe to the paper and advertisers who use that newspaper.

The corporate owners of the Empire-Tribune (Consolidated Southwest Media, American Consolidated Media) and the professional news and journalism organizations with which the paper is affiliated (Associated Press, Texas Press Association, West Texas Press Association, Inland Press Association) might also want to review developments there.

As for the former reporter Joiner who had covered the concerns and accounts of local citizens so professionally, life goes on.

She appears to be confident that she did the best job she could have for her community as a responsible local journalist who realized something important had happened to her fellow citizens, neighbors and friends.

"I appreciate the opportunity I have had at the newspaper," Joiner said. "A story of this magnitude drained the limited resources a small newspaper has. I performed my other duties to the best of my ability."

Even as the national and international media interest calmed down somewhat, other ominous developments were occurring in the Stephenville area.

A local resident stated he had received threatening phone calls and threats of implied bodily harm or death for talking publicly about what he saw.

An intruder had also appeared on his rural property at 1 a.m., causing the resident to be concerned about the safety of his family.

As Joiner was covering this more serious aspect of the UFO sighting case (in articles published Feb. 3 and Feb. 4) which appeared to be a law enforcement and criminal matter affecting public safety, she was reportedly told by newspaper management to back off.

"My directions were to move on to something else," Joiner said.

The reason given to Joiner for this was, "because our readership had grown tired of the UFO stories."

However, Joiner was still a contact person and resource for community residents, researchers, news media representatives and others.

While trying to obey management's directives to cover topics other than the UFO sightings and related developments, Joiner said, "It was a difficult task to achieve. I was still receiving a surprising number of e-mails and phone calls on the subject."

"I tried to direct those calls and interviews to after hours or during lunch hours. And I forwarded e-mails to my home so that I would not be giving newspaper time to the subject. I honestly tried to do as they had asked."

The apparent irregularities and journalistic priorities of what was starting to emerge at the Empire-Tribune probably also started to dawn on Joiner as she realized things were not going in a good direction at the paper.

She gave her two-week notice, then was told to leave immediately.

Joiner apparently felt that people in her community had "a need to know" about what was going on when respectable citizens came forward with their accounts and subsequent serious incidents reportedly involved the safety of and threats to a local family.

GOING FORWARD

The Stephenville UFO sighting incident is not the first and will not be the last. The responses by local and regional public safety officials to such incidents have also occurred before, and will again. Local, national and international news media professionals are also part of the picture, past, present and future.

Americans wearing the military uniform of our country and our intelligence professionals are certainly also parts of the puzzle involving UFOs and how our society deals with an apparently sensitive and complex situation. Their respect and support for good American citizens will remain crucial in the days ahead.

Many of the residents of the Stephenville region are just such good Americans. Reporter Joiner knew this because she knows the people of her community.

Local journalists typically work on topics involving all kinds of community activities: the local schools and hospitals, area peace officers and public safety personnel, businesses and employers, civic groups and organizations. And when they do, reporters often feel a sense of responsibility to do their best for their neighbors and their communities.

Unknown Object Photographed over Indiana, USA

Indiana-01-31-2008-I was home alone and decided to go to the kitchen to get a glass of water and maybe find a snack. Just as I approached the kitchen/dining room area (they're the same room and we have a bay-window/patio door there) I noticed what I immediately thought was a helicopter about 300-400 feet away, just across the street and above the tree-line. Because we kind of live in the country, I thought that was unusual... then it hit me that I couldn't hear any noise at all! And then the obvious shape difference hit me like a bag of rocks and I ran for my camera - literally (I almost tripped over a rug).

I don't know how long it was there before I saw it, but it hung around for 2 or 3 minutes after I noticed it... not moving or flashing or anything. The only thing I noticed was a sort of wavy-ness of the air surrounding the object - that's probably what stuck me most, actually. It resembled kind of what you see over a hot road on a summer day. It was getting dark, but I distinctly remember the dark tree line shimmering just below the object, against the sky-glow.

I had just enough time to take a picture on my camera (before the batteries died), and then I got one on my cell phone right before it "disappeared" --- I say that, because I believe it just went directly away from me at a high speed very suddenly... it actually appeared to grow smaller and disappear, but curve up slightly as it was doing so. The direction was about directly westward I believe.

Long ago, when I was a young kid, I remember seeing a funny light in the sky (from very far away) and watching it do all sorts of "tricks" ~ but I couldn't actually see it as an object. This is the only other time that I have seen something this close, that I know from my own eyes what I saw in a detailed manner. Very exciting indeed (although the first couple nights were difficult to sleep well!)

It may look like just another car park on a foggy night, but an amateur photographer claims it also shows a UFO. A disc-shaped object appears to be hovering in the night sky near the top right of the picture, according to Hab Rahman, who captured the image. The 28-year-old took the photograph near his home in Portsmouth while driving home from work in thick fog. But he only spotted the mysterious apparition after transferring the image on to his computer.

Mr Rahman said: 'I've never really believed in UFOs but this is a bit weird and freaky – I just cannot think what else it could be.' UFO expert Hilary Porter, of the British Earth and Aerial Mysteries Society, last night confirmed it could be genuine.

STRANGE sightings of a spinning orange object shooting from the sky have been reported by a shocked Warwickshire couple.

Terrified Cliff and Carol Sheldon say the flashing orange mass nearly smashed into their car in Bubbenhall on Monday night.

They say it was cylindrical in shape, and about half the size of their Vauxhall Corsa.

The down-to-earth couple from Stretton-on-Dunsmore say they have always been sceptical about UFOs.

But the grandparents of-five are in no doubt about what they saw.

Their claims have been backed by a Warwick University professor with an interest in UFOs. He said they may have seen a meteorite, also known as a shooting star.

Cliff, aged 63, who has recently retired from his garage business, Manhattan Motors in Earlsdon, Coventry, said: "I just saw a great big thing spinning round with lights on.

"Carol was panicking saying: 'That might explode - go, go, go'.

"It was a clear night and I thought 'blinkin' 'eck, what's that?' It could have been something burning. There is no doubt that it was real, and we are genuine."

Carol, aged 58, described a flat round structure 'like a giant dinner plate' that was flashing orange.

She said: "I put my fingers in my ear and thought it was going to explode. We were both terrified and shocked.

"It was moving very fast and we thought it was going to hit the car. It looked like it must have come down in the fields nearby.

"We reported it to the police although I don't suppose they believed us. But there is no way you could make something up like that."

Their UFO sighting was at 9pm on Stoneleigh Road in Bubbenhall, though nearby Coventry Airport reported "nothing untoward" on the night in question.

But Dr Jack Cohen, a professor and scientist from Warwick University who researches UFOs, said: "It's more likely to be a meteorite than a flying saucer. My guess is there are two or three a day coming down in England.

"It's not unreasonable that one could have come down close to someone."

A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: "We do from time to time get people reporting this kind of thing to us, particularly if they want to check military aircraft movement.

"But we're not aware of anything reported to us that would corroborate that claim from Monday night."

I wonder if that column of light is coming down or going up from the ground. It reminds me of the pillar of light sightings posted earlier in this thread...only this one has an explosion involved. If I was the camera man I would have been tempted to drive or walk over and have a look. He got some great photos. Russia builds £3m UFO centre

Authorities in a remote Russian region at the centre of dozens of reports of UFO sightings have started work on a £3 million centre to attract alien spotters.

Perm in south-eastern Russia is well-known as a centre for UFO sightings, and many believe Perm is regularly visited by aliens.

Now officials want to cash in on the fame with a centre that will include a museum and theme park.

November, 2007-I came home late from work one night in November (can't remember exact date but sometime between the 10-15th). It was around 2 am so I went straight to bed, but something annoyed me so I couldn't sleep. At first I thought it was the street lights so I got up from the bed to close the drapes.

I quickly realized that it wasn't the street lights that annoyed me, but this really, REALLY bright light on the clear night sky. At first I thought it was a bright star or something like that, but after a while I realized that this 'thing' was 'hanging' in the air, maybe 300 meters above the highway ca 1000 meters away from my apartment. The object was so bright that I couldn't see any shape, only this orb of bright pulsating light.

The whole thing was really strange so I woke my girlfriend and told her that she had to watch this, but when we got to window the object was gone. She thought it was all in my imagination and told me to get back to sleep. It only took 5 minutes until the light returned, that was when I ran to get my camera (I´ll attach some of the pictures).

Me and my girlfriend observed the object for 15 minutes or so, and I took at least 30 pictures of it (I used a Sony DSP-W70 7.2 megapixel).

Then it simply disappeared and reappeared several miles away, or it moved so fast my eyes couldn't follow it.. It reappeared at/traveled to the north-east and began to travel real slow in the same direction (north-east). Note: Sweden's biggest airport is in that direction, as well as the nuclear power plant Forsmark. (Note 2: since I don't have a tripod pictures taken at night don't come out very good, but you can still clearly see the object in the pictures but not any stars. A hint to how bright/close this object was).

Date: September 14, 2007 Time: Daytime.

I was at my home near Vidalia Ga. on 9/14/2007 when I heard a large helicopter fly over. I went outside to look and noticed that the sky was filled with contrails. I then went back inside and got my camera, a Sony Cybershot 3.2 pixels, and took several pictures of them.

When I downloaded them to my computer I noticed this object in only one of them. The first picture is as it was taken. The second picture is the object enlarged and enhanced with auto color and contrast and sharpened, I also added 1200 pixels per inch. This was done with Microsoft Digital Image Standard 2006 Editor.

The sun was to my back so I don't think this is a lens flare. I have never seen anything like this before and have no idea what it could be. Do you have any ideas?

THE Ministry of Defence (MoD) has appealed for calm after a UFO was spotted over Woodford Green.

Two residents have contacted the Guardian saying they saw a strange object flying through the sky last weekend above the Winston Churchill statue on Woodford Green.

MoD spokeswoman Susan Coulthard said: "It's certainly common that people see something they don't understand.

Holy Monkey! I've ruled out birds so the only thing I can think of would be balloons. If it's not balloons...that may be the most UFOs I've seen in a cluster since the Mexico sightings.

Yeah I have a hard time swallowing the balloon explanation myself. There's just so many of them flying in what seems to be a symbolic pattern. SO MANY. Gives me goosebumps just watching it.

UFO Hunters is an interesting documentary series. I think they do a very good job of collecting evidence like you said, looking for other explanations, interviewing witnesses and re-creating each sighting the best they can. It really gives you a more in depth look at each sighting individually. I don't know what happened to the sci-fi UFO Hunters show. It was only on one time so maybe it was a pilot/test episode.

White Tank Mountain Haze Cam Photo Shows Unknown Objects

I thought you might like to see these pics... I was watching the Phoenix haze cams this morning and found these... This is from the White Tank Mountains cam, in Phoenix.

The time stamp on the cam was 9:00 am... there seems to be a lot of stuff in the skies. At first I thought it could be birds, but, the houses below are so clear, that if it were birds there should be more detail, compared to their size.

I checked back on their archives, and it was clear at 8:00 am. I waited for the next refresh at 9:30, and it was clear again. These were taken, today 2/27/08 at 9:00 am.

Holy Crap I never believed there would show up a video:eek: Check out the Stephenville Lights and all the symbols caught on tape!!

Wow! I've watched it a few times now and it really does look like symbols being flashed. I was considering other explanations like us trying to communicate or some kind of technology being tested...but the symbols keep coming into play. Seeing how there have been similar ones recorded in the past it really makes you wonder. I'm glad we got to see the vid this quickly, it seems to match the photos that were shown earlier.

One other thing. I thought the cameraman did a very good job of keeping a steady shot considering how far up that object was. If it was some kind of communication to us, why would it be so hard to see? It raises more questions. This is a very interesting event of sightings.

I can't stop thinking of this one.
It's pretty weird that the cameraman doesn't follow the object when it raises and another thing is their reaction, kind of like there really isn't anything but have been added later.
Some claims it's an 'april 1 hoax' since this is as described in the translation, from early april, possibly last year..:confused:
But the tv-station is real at least http://www.yellowpages.md/query_company_eng.asp?code=1597, and the guy that did the translation have sent an e-mail to them and asked if it's an earlier used april fool video or the real deal.

Michigan-07-26-07-Somebody I know emailed me the picture of that recent thing posted here from out west, don't remember which state. (Oregon) This object floated above the river for maybe less than 30 seconds, rotating slightly then winking out.

My wife freaked out because we were still about 40 minutes from takeout and had nowhere to go. We paddled over to the side and sat in the woods for about 20-30 minutes, but the mosquitos were eating us alive, so we got back into the water.

I got one photo off before it disappeared. About 10 seconds before it disappeared, another circle thing seemed to pop out of the center, which is when my wife started screaming at me to take a picture, and that's what you see.

I really don't want to know what it was, because to this day it gives us the creeps, but since I saw the other one my wife thought it might be best to share the experience. I'm not going to mention the name of the river because our cabin is near there.

Upon downloading the photo, the presence of a possible sphere was noticed. There was a marked contrast in color between [the object] and the landscape, which was nearly in shadow.

I don't think you're stupid. I wonder the same thing all the time and these are the questions that have to be asked during research. I've seen photos and film using the infrared spectrum of light. This guy had two camcorders set up side by side. The normal one showed the clear sky but the infrared one showed a UFO hovering in the same spot. He used a split screen to show it was the same part of the sky.

Maybe the light spectrum or even other dimensions come into play when these things are phasing in and out. Makes your brain explode just thinking about it.

Hey angelicangel:) Oh no, that's not stupid at all. It's the theory I stick to myself too.
You know if Ickey is right in what he says, which I'm pretty damn sure of that we can only see the so-called 'luminous matter', which reflects electromagnetic light, but 95% atleast of the mass in the universe is known as 'dark matter',
this doesn't reflect light and therefor can not be seen!:eek:.
The electromagnetic spectrum is only 0.005% of the estimated mass of the universe and yet 'visible light/human sight' can see only a minute fraction even of these electromagnetic frequencies.
So I doubt it would be fantastic if a photograph captures something our eyes can't.
Just imagine everything thats out there and for that sake right next to us:eek:

They used to do watches on the Malvern Hills for quite a few months of the year.

Another daytime ufo sighting in infrared

Caught this ufo on 2/27/08 at 11:23am cst in infrared. The erratic movement is not the ufo it is me since I did not have my tripod. There is definitely a ufo flap going on here in north Texas. This is about 65 miles north of Stephenville, TX. There was an airplane nearby and in fact, at first I thought I was filming the airplane until I noticed there were no wings or tail visible and this ufo was flying in a different direction.

UFOs over Pentagon: July 4, 1949

I am an occasional listener to Coast to Coast in Lynchburg, Virginia; depending on the shift I am working. Recently I obtained over 400 slides (mostly color) from the late 1940's to the early 1950's from my uncle in Richmond, Virginia. I was excited about the slides, because my dad was born in 1941 (14 years after his brother) and many of the slides are of him as a child. How many kids born in the 1940's have color pictures of themselves?

In the 1940’s my uncle Eugene had a small camera which took two color pictures on one 35mm frame. So they are half of a normal 35mm picture. He had all of his color pictures put onto slides instead of prints.

When handing me the 4 metal slide boxes, he told me I was welcome to copy them, but to watch out for the UFO pictures he had taken. Eugene served in the Air Force in the late 40's into the 50's and lived in Arlington, Virginia for a while. He said you could clearly see the Pentagon from his back door. Eugene told me he investigated reports of UFOs while in the Air Force. In Eugene's slides there are images such as a young farm boy who Eugene said was "zapped" by a ray from a "spaceship" while chopping on a tree in the woods with a hatchet. I can send those slides as well, but their not as great as the one described below.

One of the color slides (pictured left and enlarged below) is of the Pentagon on July 4, 1949. After scanning the slide I thought there was dirt on the slide, so I attempted to carefully wipe it off with a lint-free rag. It turned out to be actually part of the image. Upon closer inspection with my 5x loupe I discovered what looks to me like Unidentified Flying Objects above the Pentagon! I immediately called my uncle Eugene in Richmond and asked him about the slide. There was a brief moment of silence on the other end. He then asked, “So you found it?”

Eugene then described to me what happened that July 4th in 1949: “We were out for the 4th of July celebration that day when we saw cars in front of us slowing down and looking out their window. Joan (2 year-old daughter) was in the back seat and Mary (wife) was sitting beside me. I remember Mary gasping for air as if she spotted a ghost. It scared me, so I slowed down and asked her what was the matter. She said, “Look!” I looked in the direction she was pointing and was amazed at what I saw. There were several objects flying over the vicinity of the Pentagon. We had not seen many aircraft at all that 4th of July so even if they had been earthly aircraft I would have been surprised. But they weren’t! They were shaped different than anything I had seen flying in the area. They had the ability to slow down and speed up like no aircraft the Air Force had. I quickly told Mary to get my camera out of her purse, where she had been carrying it during our picnic on the mall in DC that day. The camera took great color pictures you know."

"As I continued to drive, Mary took a picture. The objects quickly disappeared as quickly as they appeared. I believe I am the only person to have a picture of those objects that day. Most people I talked to, who were in DC that day, didn't even see them. I can only wonder what the people in the cars on the road with us that day were thinking. They were probably wishing they had their camera. There are only two slides of these objects in existence. I have one and the Air Force has the other. I never told anyone I had one for myself when I handed over to the "team" where I worked. I never heard another word about what I reported I saw that day. It was as if no one wanted to acknowledge what was on that slide. I often joked with Mary (wife) that the aliens even came to celebrate our Independence Day. Joan was too young to remember anything, but Mary and I will never forget what we saw that 4th of July 1949.”

Eugene gave the slide to me and said he’s “too old to worry about what they will do anymore”. Eugene is 81 years old this year.

The UFO featured three white lights and a blinking red light. We've got you covered

WESLEY CHAPEL - An unidentified flying object caught the attention of some Pasco County residents early Friday.

Many described the object -- a rotating triangle of three white lights plus a flashing red light that stayed put -- as a UFO.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office says some Wesley Chapel residents called 911 around 6:25 a.m. wondering what was up -- literally.

A deputy's report says it was a balloon, but doesn't get more specific than that.

If you take an Infrared Filter and place on a Night Vision scope, you can see UFOs not visible to the naked eye flying over Santa Barbara. I have adapted my night vision scope to fit on my Nikon D80 using a T-Scope adapter. Anyone can do it. I have seen 2 UFOs over Santa Barbara during the 4 times I have spent time looking. I caught this one on February 7th, 2008 while looking from my front yard. It was maybe 500 to 700 feet up. Not visible to the naked eye.

It was night time and you can see stars in the background as a reference. The UFO was the size of an 18 wheeler and it just flew by like a plastic bag in a fast wind in a perfectly straight direction. The pic was off center as I was trying to use a tripod and freaked out because I wanted to make sure it got it in frame at least and the tripod was in the wrong position.

The first one I saw was like a box the size of 2 cars with 3 infrared lights that were dim. The box actually tumbled through the air maybe 200 feet above the tree line over Santa Barbara. That was in late January. Whatever these things are, they are all over the place if you look with the right equipment.

Brian, some will claim that these are flares but I have seen these many times in the past. Some months ago I shined a green laser at four of these and they went out and came back on in the form of a huge 'W'. The photos were taken Monday March 10 2008, from Surprise AZ looking south southwest. I used a Canon Rebel 35 mm 100-300 mm zoom lens, exposure was five seconds. Their sarcastic reports have left viewers with the false impression that the photos were all from California and most likely CGI/Photoshop creations. Neither conclusion is true.

Why did FOX have a segment about the dragonfly drones? Because the Los Angeles Times on March 18, 2008, headlined: “A UFO Cold Case” with a photograph of two private investigators named Frankie Dixon and T. K. Davis. The two were hired by a European group to track down one of last year’s eyewitnesses who photographed a dragonfly machine over a power line in Capitola, California, on May 16, 2007.

The eyewitness photographer’s internet name was Rajman1977, not “Raji” as written in the L. A. Times photo caption. Superficial and inaccurate reporting by television and other media about complex phenomena is notorious and misinformation continues about the 2007 dragonfly-shaped, aerial “drone” photographs. I had taken to calling the objects “drones” because eyewitnesses had the impression that the silent, hovering craft were not manned. I think it is valuable to review first what happened last year and then look at the time line of eyewitnesses who have seen dragonfly craft since at least 1987.

As he participated in a free-flight championship in the mineral-waters resort of Cambuquira, in the South of Minas Gerais State (Brasil), the Sao Paulos´s Police Force Anti-Sequester UNIT Sheriff, José Eduardo Zappi, registered an unidentified flying object that appeared in the skies of the region.

Due to the great number of messages asking for more details about the image, we provide the following additional information:

1 - The object did not make any sound. The distance between the object and the paraglider in relation to the camera was about 383 yards.

2 - The apparition lasted less than 30 seconds without any movement from the object. It appeared and disappeared in the same location.

3 - The object appeared on 04.23.2006, during a paragliding championship at the summit of the Piripau Mountain, at almost 4,600 feet of altitude and 9.5 miles away from the city of Cambuquira, in the South of Minas Gerais, around 03:30 pm as people said, although the camera EXIF register 12:47:01h ( 0:47:01 pm).

4 - The apparition was discrete and very quick, as if the object had materialized in the air. There were about 200 people at the place and, although some did notice it, they did not pay attention since it was very quick. It looked like either a great flying bird or a distant airplane. The detailed photo was able to caught people's attention later on.

5 - The photo was taken by the wife of the Sao Paulo Anti-kidnapping Special Forces Commissioner's, Jose Eduardo Zappi, who appears in the photo flying his paraglider. A digital camera was used (Fuji Finepix S-7000).

6 - If there were any lights or extreme brightness, they were not noticed, due to the rapidity of the phenomenon as well as the intense sun light on that day.

7 - There is no record neither of the object being detected by any radar nor of any extraordinary facts at that moment or electromagnetic interferences in the region.

8 - This photo has been published with the purpose to provide strong evidence to serious UFO researchers. Therefore, I have no intention to convincing the public of either the existence of alien life or any similar facts.

He doesn't want to be identified because he says he doesn't want to draw attention to himself.

What this man does want is to share what he saw.

"It got to the point to where it got a little closer and that's when I got a little bit more nervous," says the man who brought us this video, what he calls a UFO.

The active duty military man captured it on his cell phone.

The video may not seem intimidating but it certainly is different. The image looks like a white, glowing spot moving around. At first we were definitely skeptical.

Is it a UFO? It could have been anything.

But then, we went back and looked at the video captured by residents in Stephenville and look for yourself. There are some similarities.
Both objects move back and forth and from side to side in the same way

"It got to the point that it was close enough that one of my Chihuahuas saw it and he was trying to take care of me and just started to bark and when he started to bark that's when the light started to do that weird movement."

The man spotted this object Saturday night just outside his home on the corner of Holly and Everhart. He says it lingered in the skies for about 15 minutes.

"Were you scared?"

"Yes because I was by myself. I may be a dude but I ain't dumb. I don't know if it was instinct and not trying to be seen, maybe I've watched too many movies, i don't know."

Too many movies or not, this man wanted to share the video with us to see if anyone else also spotted this object in the sky.

He says he's shared it with family and some friends and they all say that's definitely not a plane, satellite or shooting star.

"Yeah it made me feel like I'm not nuts or maybe I wasn't the only one that saw it."

Sounds like a dimension swap.. but that's surely not how I would imagine something from another dimension to look like:rolleyes:
Looks more like a satelitte of some kind (I know that's not a possibility).
It could also be all a big lie from the parachuters, and it's something they throw down/released just before the picture was taken..

I still want a to keep an open mind about this but my gut feeling keep saying ''some sort of a meterological balloon'' :(

I noticed one of the responses on youtube and I thought he brought up a good point...

Follow the direction (altitude) of the ship before this, then after the "cam shaking" around 12-22sec in you'll see the it was copy/paste and a way diff. altitude much higher then the direction it was going in originally!

You can see the altitude change quite a bit before and after the shaking of the cam (20 seconds in)...unless the craft phased in and out and changed locations on him which lead to the shaking in the first place.

Having just purchased a new Canon PowerShot A650 IS digital camera, I stepped outside at work to photograph the moon and skywatch for UFOs. Yes, I actively search for UFOs (have had several sightings)- and within 5 minutes of stepping out, I spotted an object in the distance.

I had to switch to video mode before I pointed my camera to locate the object on the screen. I lost precious seconds - seconds when the object was traveling in the clear. I started shooting as soon as I saw the object on the screen. I zoomed in at the maximum optical zoom of 6X. It traveled clear skies for a few seconds before entering the clouds where it disappeared and reappeared about three times at cloud breaks.

The event date is 03/13/2008. The time was 1854 (6:54 PM)

18 March 2008-Strange lights spotted in Lincolnshire's skies may have been a warning of the earthquake which sent tremors across Britain. Several sightings of lights appearing in the sky were reported in the days leading up to the quake, which had its epicentre near Market Rasen when it struck early on February 27. And some believe that these could be "earthquake lights" - caused by changes in the electrical properties of the ground before a quake occurs.

There have been many similar reports of "earthquake lights" throughout history. The most well known case was in Lincoln's twin town, Tangshan, in China in 1976, before a massive quake that killed 240,000 people across the country.

Husband and wife Jamie and Emily Goddard, of Alexandra Terrace, in Lincoln, managed to capture the lights on a mobile phone camera just as they appeared above Drury Lane at around 8.30pm on February 22.

And other people have contacted the Echo to say they saw lights on the same night - with some wondering at first whether it was a 'UFO' from an RAF base.

Dr Richard England, from the Department of Geology at the University of Leicester, said that there is little evidence to explain the phenomenon - but there have been enough sightings to suggest there could be a link.

Strange Item Falls From Sky In Oz

Bizarre ball of twisted metal 'space junk' falls from the sky into farmer's backyard

Outback farmer James Stirton's property consisted of little more than a herd of cattle and a sea of dust - until a curious object from outer space dropped in.

Mr Stirton scratched his head in wonder as he stared at the mangled ball of metal.

No one in their senses would drive hundreds of miles across the desert just to dump it in the middle of nowhere. So it must have come from above.

But what was it and how had it got there?

It came from outer space: James Stirton surveys the lump of twisted metal, which he found on his cattle farm in Queensland, Australia

Mr Stirton asked aeronautical experts in Australia and the U.S. But no one could give him a clear-cut answer.

So he loaded the object onto his truck and drove it to Charleville, 100 miles from his 120,000-acre property in Queensland. In Charleville it was examined by Mark Rigby, a curator from the Brisbane Planetarium.

He declared he had no doubt what it was - a helium or nitrogen tank from a rocket used to blast a U.S. solar satellite into space. Mr Stirton came across the object last November.

Mr Rigby was able to establish that it had most likely been launched from Cape Canaveral on October 26, 2006, on one of two satellites that were to study the sun.

The tank had been predicted for re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere at 11.47am, Australian time, on November 1, which would have put it near Indonesia.

"It gave me a great shock when I first saw it. I had no idea what it was. I know all about sheep and cattle but I don't know much about satellites or space stuff."

He added: "We don't get many visitors here but anyone who has seen it has either wanted to touch it or has stood back, afraid that someone or something was going to jump out of it."

He has been told he could probably sell his space souvenir but hasn't received any offers - yet.

Teenager Andrew Wilkinson captured an apparently fiery object in the Canterbury sky on his digital camera last night.

Wilkinson, 17, photographed the object, at left, from his Halswell home at 7.27pm.

He said it was too slow to be a meteor or a plane, and wondered if it might be satellite debris in the western sky.

A handful of other observant Cantabrians also spotted the orange ribbon standing out brightly in the dusk.

"I got the camera and took a photo. It was moving extremely slowly, so I thought it might have been a plane for a minute. The front looked like a fireball.

"I didn't hear any noise. It looks like it might have been extremely high up, given the speed it was moving," he said.

Police southern communications shift supervisor Trevor Cross said he received one phone call about the phenomenon. A policeman at Oxford also saw it and thought it might be a vapour trail.

The superintendent of the University of Canterbury's Mount John Observatory at Tekapo, Alan Gilmore , said his "immediate reaction" was it was a plane.

"The slowness would be due to the plane's movement. I assume from the contrail's angle that it is a plane heading for Australia," Gilmore said. "The trail doesn't look at all like a meteor or space-debris trail."


Could be a contrail lit up by the sun. I'd have to rule out meteorite or spacejunk as it seems to have a course correction.

Unknown Object(s) in Oshawa, Canada Photographs

I can see that there is a growing surge of activity in our skies, around the world. I have again witnessed SOMETHING on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008, after 1:00 PM-another “white something,” flying quite high, above to the north, while I walked my dog.

It moved from the west to the east quite fast, just few hundreds yards north of my position. Then within a minute, I noticed a jet moving across the sky in the same flight path and approximate altitude. I watched and noticed the trail break up over my house and general area. Being a curious sky watcher, I took a few pictures during the whole event described.

Now, I'm quite not sure about photo #2520 (left below), as it appears hard to tell what this white thing could be at that high altitude. But in photo # 2522 (right below), the contrail indicates two round white objects trailing close to one another.

Is the one leading the trail really a jet? Or would the second one following the jet be a UFO? Could both objects be UFO’S as they appear round? One can only share the photographs to examine. The camera used is a Olympus FE 220 7.1 Thanks for your time and keep up the excellent work.

A bright shining light that streaked across the Canterbury sky at sunset earlier this week has now been identified by the experts.

A deer hunter on a mountain top near Arthur's Pass caught the object on his video camera, allowing astronomers to take a look at it as well.

Andrew Corner did not expect to see an unidentified flying object flying through the sky as he hunted deer in the back of beyond.

Corner and his friends discussed the fireball burning across the sky, wondering whether it was a plane or space debris burning up. They say they did not discuss the possibility of aliens.

Craig Garner of Stardome Observatory says: "Looking at this particular picture I would say it's definitely a jet vapour trail."

The hunters failed to get any deer on the hunt but say the fireball sighting made up for it.

Whatever that was the pilot should of seen it square on. It looked like he flew right by it before it vanished.

I saw a very odd looking thing at about 9.15PM on Saturday night:

It was a large bright, white light passing over a quiet suburban street in Oxford. It could have been an aircraft with its landing lights on, but I heard no engine noise. It also didn't have its strobes and navigation lights on. I can't estimate its actual altitude, but it was certainly low enough for me to have seen those nav lights and heard its engine. If it was any higher then it would have moved at a slower apprent speed. It crossed 90 to 100 degrees of the sky in less than a minute, about the speed a small jet would travel if it was at around 1000 to 2000 feet. Unfotunately it moved like an aircraft, in a straight line at a steady speed and disappeared into the clouds. If it was a UFO then if I wish it had caried out some manoeures to confirm itself to me.

I saw it on my way to work and pass along that street every night. I'll keep a lookout and see if I can see it again. It was too overcast last night, but maybe tonight will be batter.

I was doing my usual stargazing on march 31st when I saw a cluster of lights, couldn't see em trough the naked eye (realised this when i removed the binoculars from my eyes, also the point in which i lost the lights). I was using 12 powered binoculars, the lights went in and out of a formation, it was a moonless night so i dont think it was light reflecting off of anything, and it was too fast to be birds.

Oddly enough it was in the usual airspace where the military planes fly over.

I wrote the whole thing down but didn't tell anyone because just about everyone I know thinks I'm nuts to begin with.

I'm not sure if this is a special episode or if they tied it into the "alien contact" show they already had made. I'm glad the group has enough planning to go right after the recent sightings. That's the way it should be.

Thanks, but this thing crossed almost at the zenith. It was also too bright to be a space station. However I'll see if I can spot the ISS next time and compare it.
