hello deano :)

I think acne is a symptom of detox. Our bodies get toxins out many different ways, some people experience it in the form of body odor, or pimples, or rashes, diarrhea, etc., all ways that are designed to get toxins out of the body. It is problematic when people treat these symptoms individually, like by filling their armpits with aluminum so the odor can't come out, taking Immodium so they stop going to the bathroom so much, or using chemicals on skin blemishes; it's just condensing the issue even worse and working against your body. So the best way to get rid of acne IMO, would be to get to the source of the problem (toxicity) and get rid of those toxins asap so they stop manifesting on your skin. Kind of like cleaning yourself from the inside out. I think a colon cleanse, liver/gallbladder cleanse would probably help a lot. Have you tried these kinds of cleanses before or maybe tried changes in diet?

the miracle solution for this is turmeric. You want to buy it in the bulk form (perferably organic) and mix 1/4 tsp with pepper in water 3 times a day. The only side effect I've noticed is that I'm really thirsty, so drink lots of water. I have struggled with acne my whole life and this is the BEST cure I've ever known.

If you are having trouble getting it down you can buy the gel capsules at a health food store and make your own pills. Although they sell turmeric already in capsule form, it doesn't work nearly as well as the pure stuff. (i can't remember what the other ingredients are, but it lessens the effect) Also, the pepper is an important aspect with this as well.

Good luck!

im not a doctor but here is my tough on the subject:

-Eliminate most process food from your diet and eat or cook your own fresh food, look for ingredient on process box food, if you cant read the listed ingredient dont buy it, organic process food usually will have no artificial and msg or coloring type of ingredients therefore better.

-take supplements: vitamin d-3 if you cant expose a good part of your skin to the sun 20 min per day, 2000UI a day look for d-3 with no corn or soy ingredients. Vitamin C, very strong cleanser to, in form of sodium ascorbat or with bioflavonoid make sure its buffered 2000 mg to 5000 mg a day total ,should be taken by dosage of 1000mg at few hours interval.

-Turmeric powder organic as mention earlier in post. Very good cleanser for skin and inside the body, mix 1/2 or one tea spoon with olive oil for better absorption, mix it in a glass with spoon, take it shooter style with another sip of juice or water to help take it down

--use organic coconut oil (the whiter the better) to hydrate skin or pure soap like: kiss my face olive oil body bar, skin soap should not have petroleum derivative like SLS or Edta or parfume the shorter the ingredient list on soap the better.

When I was a teenager in the 1980s all I knew about was 10-06 lotion. Most of the ingredient parts are just rubbing alc./hydrogen peroxide, which dried up the acne scabs but didn't really make them go away.

Now I know and agree with one of the posters that acne is a sign of the body being too toxic and it needs some way to push them out.

Lots of people I know use Tea Tree Oil. Another thing you could try and which I've used is Apple Cidar Vinegar on the acne. You can also pour 2 or 3 cups (500 / 750 ml) into your bath water and sit in it for maybe 30 minutes. It didn't burn me which I was surprised. It's supposed to heal scars and help your skin pH level to normalize. Pour some in a cup and dunk it over your face.

A colon detox is also a good idea. Liquid bentonite & psyllium.

Try not to use any creams or acne treatments for a while and just regularly wash your face, maybe 3 times a day with nothing but simple soap. Your immune system will take care of that acne but you can help it along by keeping your face clean as possible and free of the oils and chemical that the acne can feed on, once the acne has gone you can stop washing your face so much.

If acne still presents a huge problem I'd suggest extra strength oil of oregano and a cotton wool bud, dab the oil on the spots, they wont feed on that oil because that particular oil is anti bacterial, anti fungal and anti viral and will kill the spots.

doctors will prescribe stuff that kills the bacteria and can clear up alot the acne (Erythromycin/Zinc) but If your eating a fatty diet your body will constantly be adding to the problem. Choose to do a cleanse, dont put anything harmful into your system and see how it goes.

witch hazel or another very soft toner (nothing with alcohol!) works better than you'd think. It helps control redness and fades scarring as well. I wish I would've found out earlier, because I have permanent scarring from using some of the more harsh astringents & what not. :(

If it dries out your skin, get some vitamin E face lotion, preferably one specificaly designed for acne.

OP, have you spoken to your doctor about this? I would suggest you do as there are medications they can prescribe,(if you are happy to take prescribed medicines) the doctor may refer you to a skin specialist first.

what do you eat?

If you don't eat just wholegrains, vegetables, some fruit, nuts seeds chickpeas lentils etc water, green tea herbal tea - some fish or eggs (optional really i would say)

then maybe that is the problem.

i.e. if you are eating
sugar
milk
fried foods
processed foods
fatty foods

you should probly stop because this is probably what is causing it.
body is trying to rid your systems of the contaminants by pushing it up through your skin via acne - its probably excess that your body doesn't need and disposes of as waste.

same idea with eczema probly.

Biblegirl is very right. Our skin acts as a venue for our bodies to rid itself of toxins when the spleen, liver, kidneys, and colon can no longer detoxify themselves on their own. This is why you might see your skin acting the way it does.

I am 33 and have had acne since I was about 13, but it kicked in to high gear when I reached 17 or 18. Since then I have been fighting it with everything from OTC creams, to miracle cures found on the internet. I've tried nearly every product out there, except drugs. I won't touch prescription drugs as a way to treat acne. Liver damage is not worth having clear skin. I also discovered that your skin is a direct reflection of how clean your insides are. I did the colon cleanse a few years back and it helped a lot. But since that time my acne has come and gone with my diet. With so much crap being put out there these days, it's no wonder humans are riddled with health problems. A colon cleanse is a great place to start, but it's definitely not the cure. The way I see it, the only cure is to keep your insides as clean as possible, and don't give your organs a reason to push out excess toxins through your skin.

I have recently discovered a supplement called Chlorella, which has TONS of health benefits. I started taking it about 2 weeks ago, and even though it's supposed to show health effects about a month later, I'm already seeing a dramatic change in my skin. At the same time that I started taking Chlorella, I also stopped using shampoos and body washes when I shower (because the phosphates irritate the skin) except for on the important parts, I no longer use anti-perspirant/deodorant, and I no longer wash my face with anything except water. I'm only required to take 3 capsules of Chlorella with food everyday, that's it. It turns your poop green but it certainly does work. I highly suggest you look into this supplement because it does more than just help clear up acne. You'll be surprised at other health benefits it can do for you. I wish you the best of luck.

If you need more info, www.acne.org is a great site to find help. Just look at the message boards for help.

What I don't understand is how my insides are so toxic if I eat organic, until recently exercised regularly etc. Unless it's also a sign of mental, spiritual, emotional stress. Physically, my body's a temple lol. I was very stressed all my life. Recently, I got to the 'don't give a hoot' stage and I have had less breakout since. :o

Detoxing the system certainly helps:
You can do the colon cleanse, but this is often difficult to fit into a busy lifestyle.
What I choose to do is drink lots of different herbal teas that are known for their detoxing effects. Nettle and Milk thistle are good examples.
You can also take some of these in the form of drops if you prefer.

Make your own Kombucha, it's easy to do and great for detoxing.

Bicarbonate of Soda instead of toothpaste will help you alkalize the body.

To use the healing power of spices like tuermeric and cinnamon: mix half a jar of runny honey with half a jar of mixed spice powder. The result is a delicious paste that you can eat on its own or spread on your toast.

The only thing I allow on my face is water and daily rubs of tea: After making my cup of tea (herbal, white, green or regular) I squeeze the teabags with a facecloth which I then rubb on my face. This is very refreshing and the antioxidants, tannins etc. from the tea help to heal any blemishes.

Cod liver oil capsules and a zink supplement are also a good idea if you want to improve skin and overall health.

Toxins are everywhere, many household items are riddled with them and we also breath them in all the time from polluted air. I seem to recall you also smoke cigarettes don't you? If so that alone will guarantee you a body full of toxins.

Eating organic and exercising doesn't automatically mean that your insides are clean. To help with the detoxing process I recommend drinking lots of green smoothies and fresh veggie juices (with an emphasis on greens, chlorophyll seems to be the key). After a few months of drinking those every day my acne problems disappeared and my skin looks amazing now.

3 day apple diet works, but only for some people, for others you'll want to do 15 days at least. I suggest supplimenting with asparugus potatoes carrots tomatoes pineapple broccoli spinach, whatever turns your crank, just be sure you get your 9 essential amino acids for protien to be safe. ( RAW ORGANIC) nuts seed legumes, almonds work great. Water for liquids. Putting stuff on your skin doesn't stop what's inside your body from cleaning out of your skin, eating healthy does. Work from the inside out and watch your skin glow.

It could be something as simple as the soap that you are using or you might have cystic acne. If it is cystic then that means antibiotics, if it is your soap, change it. I had cystic acne years ago and had to take antibiotics for 6 months or more. It is a very low dose but that was the only thing that helped me.

Acne is, in some people's opinion, a symptom of candida (yeast). You could try apple cider vinegar or white vinegar applied directly to the acne (do not get in the eyes).

If the person also has athletes foot and dandruff the vinegar can be applied directly to these areas as well. I have used 100% white vinegar to cure my DH of very stubborn athletes foot that he has had for years which no medication or prescription drug made any difference to. As white vinegar kills the root of the fungus on hard and porous surfaces, it is very effective on skin which of course is porous. I used a spray bottle to apply to the feet daily for a couple of weeks.

I spray my tub and shower daily with 100% white vinegar to kill all fungus and mold.

Taking a pinch of baking soda in your drinking water a couple of times a day will help reduce candida in the body.

Hope this helps.

I would eliminate all dairy products for starters. I tried it myself. When I drink milk and eat chocolates I always get acne. Whey I stop they disappear almost completely. As someone above posted, its toxins inside and I agree. Don't look for outside solution(creams, oils, etc.); you must eliminate the poisons you get inside your body.

A chronic infection is a response to a deeper problem usually in the colon and sometimes in the blood.

Clean the colon and balance body acidosis. Then the infection can be removed. Otherwise there is just reinfection because the problem toxemia remains. Just treating organisms with anti-biotics over and over again just creates drug resistant strain of organism. This has been a great dis- service done to our population by the medical drug interests.

Many chronic infections or recurring infections are in a body because something else is wrong. It might be the environment or the water.
Get a new pillow and keep what you sleep on clean. If there is a really dirty mattress get rid of it.

The best results that I have seen are from eating tumeric and using a paste of tumeric and cream which will stain yellow so do not leave it on for hours but maybe a few hours before bed time and rinse will cool water and pat dry.
Eating tumeric will disolve mucus build up in the lower layers of the skin that is there to be infected by the acne on the surface. Stop eating mucus foods.

Why suddenly has my immune system decided to stop healing the acne?.

I read that the immune system weakens as we age, particularly with poor dietary & lifestyle habits. This makes changing even more important.

Your probably putting a huge burden on your immune system through what you consume. Almost like your kicking it when it's down.

So it's very likely what your consuming is not only burdening your immune system, the same sources are also giving you acne. A double whammy.

Speaking from personal experience:

Avoid ALL dairy that has been pasteurised or processed in any way. This includes in ingredients to foods.

The other thing is avoid constipation, which can be achieved with exercise, juicing and making sure you consume good bacteria in fermented foods like yoghurt, kefir, sauerkraut etc. Also do a google search for 'mucusless diet healing system pdf' - more about constipation.
