American companies based in New Zealand are crying out for more skilled workers for the third consecutive year.
The annual survey of US companies doing business here reveals the chronic skills and labour shortage is the key constraint for nearly 70% of them.
That's up from 52% in last year's survey and 50% in 2005.
American Chamber of Commerce president Mark Fitz-Gerald says the companies are urging the government to make it easier for skilled immigrants to settle here, improve educational standards and provide tax incentives for initiatives such as training

Date set to turn off analogue TV (00:32)
A date has been set to turn off the old analogue TV sets, as the final switch to Digital should be complete within five years.
