There is only one, the nameless.
All names and "things" are illusion. Our 3d reality/matrix is just one of those illusions.

Illusion means "Spirit of Light" - (Illu: Spirit of, Sion: Light).

I'm pretty sure that 'illu' means light, no?

So if everything is an illusion, is there any meaning to life?

does life need to have meaning? life simply IS.
correct me if I'm wrong, adimon, but you're an atheist, yes? Nothing against that but I know plenty of people who would ask the atheist "if there's no god, is there any meaning to life?"
to which many atheists I know would respond "does life need to have meaning? Life simply is."
my thought is that Life is infinite consciousness, and life as we percieve it is a meaningless illusion.

Yes I am an atheist. As for meaning, we can each choose our own.
I want to use my life to love and care for the people who love me back, to take in the wonders of the natural landscape that aeons of natural forces have created, and vocationally, to do my bit to ensure that the social, economic and political values I hold are preserved for future generations, whilst changing the things I see as obsolete, unjust or illogical.

well, I've certainly got no problem with that! :)
personally, I think this realm of being is void of meaning. when I say this I don't mean without value. i value much in this life, though I dare say its value pales in comparison with the infinite beyond. but i digress, what i intend to say here is that what you've expressed to me sounds more like things you value (more or less the same things that I value) than "meaning"

>So if everything is an illusion, is there any meaning to life?
Of course humans perceive meaning almost everywhere without effort, whether it is there or not. Perhaps the concept of "meaning", is in fact an illusion ; perceivable only by creatures (humans) who seek and desire it.
Does a tree seek meaning? a rock? Does the blade of grass need a reason to grow? An animal a reason to live? It is only the us that require everything is meaningful;
And ultimately if you analyze this you realise meaning can be ascribed to anything, without any rationalisation - for example one can perceive meaning in a blade of grass - yet it serve no particular purpose to us, and is contemplated without purpose at all. You get experiences like this meditating and taking lsd, or simply with an open mind...
So to answer your question? Does life being illusion make it meaningless - no life is still full of meaning. The feeling or experience of meaning does not require "purpose" as is conventionally thought IMO. Perhaps this meaning is a reflection of the one unamed, connection to all.

well put Drael, but I still maintain that life neither HAS nor NEEDS meaning, and that "meaning" in life is something that humans imagine life needs, and in response imagine just what that meaning would be. I say the grass means nothing it simply IS grass. the soil means nothing it simply IS soil. You and I mean nothing we simply ARE you and I. Life means nothing it simply IS life. To "mean" is to represent something. Words and symbols mean things, but things just are themselves. However it MAY be that life has PURPOSE, which I think is often what people really mean when they speak of the "meaning" of life. The word "life" means life; while LIFE is life, and means nothing else. perhaps a better question would be "does life have purpose?" or "does life have value?"
