More and more lately I'm finding myself heading to work and just thinking how utterly dull and even senseless modern life seems. All we seem to do is run about, work our arse off, there seems to be more ways to seperate us from our money - it just feels like a tireless race. And with technology we seem in any spare time we have wondering what 'apps' to download!

I can't be alone in feeling this way surely?

I just get more sense of dread about the future and i'm not being too negative i don't believe - as in honesty i am blessed with some great people around me and a secure job and nice home and so on.

I just don't get it. Spending an entire life aquiring material things only to die with nothing in the end. Yes (have felt that way for a long time, especially when observing how religious ppl behave like total nutjobs. George Carlin puts it brilliantly with "/.../ My god has a bigger dick than your god" xD).

But at the same time I'm not feeling any Noble Savage-things, like "fuck yeah, let us all live in the forest and eat berries/kill wild animals" right now. I've dreamt about it before, and wished for it at times when city life felt dull... But it's not for me, and when it comes down to it ALL of this is fucking stupid.

We create meaning. Were viewed as animals not humans contrary to what education teaches us. So they think certain things like, warmth, food, toys, a home will make us happy. Keep us content. If it isnt then it means youre a thoughtful person who has to break out of your conditioning. To do this you need to know what works for you. In this day and age I think were all rather depressed. As life is morbid. Whilst were feasting on a curry and boozing our worries away. Some poor human is dying of starvation. This makes me realise im in no position to really complain. But its not complaining. Its spiritual rape and shock. So we have to find meaning not through materialistic things, but by changing our personal goal posts and understanding what it means to be you. Allow feelings to go if youre feeling down. Change your perception and you will really enjoy all the challenges that come your way.

I was watching 'Fight club' with a new set of eyes so to speak a few nights ago. Never before had the overall message of that movie (anti-consumerism/modern life) struck me in a such poignant way as it did until recently-Whats it all about? Whats the rat race all about? 'Take-make-throw away' as Icke calls it. The analogy of running on a treadmill while staying in place works perfectly.

All of this was drafted though by the controllers in their many books and white papers. One of the objectives outlined in the infamous 'silent weapons for a quiet war' document was to keep people, "busy, busy, busy..with no time to think". It seems like the plan is working well. :(

I am attempting to break the cycle and the supposed 'what else can you do' attitude by applying to study at university next year. I have wanted to study European languages for several years now, but instead I fell into the same cycle as the majority seem to - bills, possessions, status quo, conforming and so on. I mean it's a risk for me to do this, will mean less income, less free time too - but why stick with the usual crap? I eventually intend to live semi-self sufficient somewhere as remote as I can!

Plus life expectancy was much shorter. To live past 30 was rare. Not much to worry about when you are here for a short time. Now when you are 30 you have to worry about the next 35-40+ years. I'd much rather a shorter life span. If someone told me I only had 5 years more to live I would be so happy.
Unfortantley most of my genes come from my dads side and they live all live to 80-90. And thats the ones who drink/smoke/ and eat like crap. Fuck.

The answer is a definitely yes in multiple ways.

Once the curtains lifted in front of our eyes and reviewed the materialistic way of our modern societies are living can be quite unpleasant. This is the kind of intercultural conversation can go on endlessly with connections of numerous topics; which will take some time to get to the bottom of things.

In terms of realizing what, how and why things are the way they are as of today and wanting to make a change for a more meaningful future? Well, we all carry that duty to educate our future generations to come. A cycle can be broken once we hold onto that very purpose in life. Sure enough, we all require to obtain the necessarily to survive in this material world. Thus, the wisdom of how to live on this planet with balance of intelligent is the key to survival.

Human being is still at its infant stage when comparing with other living beings. There are still so much around us that are required for us to understand in terms of how nature functions. The only system most of us here are familiar with is the monetary system then governors all walks of human lives where money is used. Anyhow, I will put a stop to this for now with further contribution and discussion. :)

I think its because we are bombarded with messages all day saying we can't be happy unless we have this and that etc...again there nothing wrong with having nice things and things we need and want etc....but theirs more to happiness and well being than owning things...also our culture is very image conscious now .....image over content also I think most peoples drive,ambition,focus and purpose in life is sort of watered down and lost in consumerism and in materialism happiness and fulfillment does not always have an price tag on it or can be bought off the shelve.
Again I think you really have to take a long hard look at yourself and see what you want out of life and were you want to take it not let others decide for you.
I often wrote down the things I liked and disliked about myself and then tried to focus on doing more of the stuff I liked or wanted to do and spend less on the stuff I did not, very easy to get stuck in a rut spending more time and effort on doing stuff you don't like . Again just by writing it down and have some type of achievable goals (set you sights on goals you can realistic achieve , when you do you feel good and give you confidence and then set higher ones next time.....set them to high you feel a failure and not get out of your rut).
also if you set aside goals and time to do things you want and like it makes doing the stuff you don`t easier as its part of your plan now and has a purpose.
Again its a about taken charge of your life and setting positive goals for yourself
After all its your life do you really want to be a Tax and cash battery for somebody's else s dreams & life?

Yes most people are stuck on focusing on senseless and mundane things but there really is more to life than that. Open your eyes, take pleasure in the simple things, meditate, open your spirit body and mind to the full spectrum of human possibilities, find art that you like find a hobby, share a deep conversation. You don't have to be like the mindless steeple that unfortunately make up a majority of humankind. Live your life to the fullest.

the only remedy I found was to create things. anything. I now work with glass and I must admit, I would have been long gone physically or mentally if i didnt do something creative. most people here have alot of energy and they dont know what to do with it.

try anything creative to get in touch with the god/ess in you, grow, farm, sing, draw,build, tinker, dont just think and research. it helps tremendously to get out of the mind and go into the zone.

Its that way, because its the wound in your heart, that needs healing. Dont hate me, but i am happy, as i can be, i dont care what societies aims are. I get involved with the conspiracy agenda, but its a perfectly transparent affair.

You can only affect your own corner, and you can change the perception of what it is you are experiencing. Have anyone of you ever picked up a David Icke book and read it? .

This is the classic state of affairs needed for people to give their infinite consciousness to a so called elite. to cower and say "poor little me, what can i do".

We have eternal power, why do i say this, i say it because i know it to be real.

ITs sounds preposterous, and perhaps you have listened to the trolls and the shills for too long, but you have almighty power, that you give away in victimship, when we decide, its way beyond us.

Stop finding what actually causes the problems and for what reason, and start deep searching who you are, what you are.

More and more lately I'm finding myself heading to work and just thinking how utterly dull and even senseless modern life seems. All we seem to do is run about, work our arse off, there seems to be more ways to seperate us from our money - it just feels like a tireless race. And with technology we seem in any spare time we have wondering what 'apps' to download!

I can't be alone in feeling this way surely?

I just get more sense of dread about the future and i'm not being too negative i don't believe - as in honesty i am blessed with some great people around me and a secure job and nice home and so on.

I would have to agree OP. It seems the closer you get to the truth and closer we get to...events happening that are mind awakening, the more dull and pointless things become. Its hard to explain, but looking at it it is just an illusion built by society and the gov. It is an enclosure. We are the reptiles or animals who are realizing that our enviroment is fake, our drinking bowl is a fake plastic water fall, our plants and trees are fake, and what we eat is prebaught and pre- prepared garbage. Every thing we are presented with to an extent is fake. And the more we realize this the more we can discover how to break out and experience the things that are real. Real plants, real food, real truth etc.

That's why we always have to think smart about how we want to change our lives. In a world driven by money, you need to let money work for you, not against you.

We need to find smarter ways to live. We need to really make some massive changes in order for us to be happy, because to get out of this system is quite a massive change.

But it really is achievable.

It's not just modern society, or human society, it is life. There is no point to it. I mean, why does a Lion live just to kill other animals for food, rape a female lion, sit around, sleep.

Yeh, as far back as I can remember I have been grappling with that fact at most points throughout my days.
It is overwhelmingly embarrassing to have to live on this planet. Its fkn ridiculous. I have always thought of myself as a glass half full optimistic person, I still do, but this really is fkn dumb.
I expected much more of humanity than this. I was positive I would see the world rage against the dieing of the light. But it looks like it will just continue hitting the snooze button in a slightly annoyed daze. This is to be sure quite an epic crescendo.

I get so god damn frustrated with the world, with the media, with the hype. They try to program us not to question anything and take heed of what we're told, when we don't it's as though society then sees us as the oddball, the conspiracy theorist! When all we're doing is opening our eyes to the obvious around us.

I HATE mobile phones. I bought into the hype at first, but now I realise it is a hindrance to be contacted at every waking moment (and several sleeping ones too) My mobile lives beside my bed as an alarm clock. I do not carry it.

A simple life is what I'd love and if you'd told me that 20 years ago I would have laughed in your face. But I no longer buy into the newest being the best, I am no longer lining these companies pockets just because they've brought a newer model out. I want a little plot, a small cabin, my own supplies of food and water and of course an internet connection. That's one modern technology I couldn't go without. ;)

True that but still it would be nice to have your own space. Apt sucks. No backyard, no garage, can't turn up music but have to put up with dogs barking and babies crying.

Only bonus is it is afforadable. I don't think I will ever have my own home. But oh well. Guess it's a step up on only owing a tent for shelter.
