View Full Version : What Do You Think Is The Most Precious Thing

Hi Everyone

I have been thinking about this over and over again and I have come to the conclusion that it is the most basic things we need. Particularly when you look at all the new world order information and other things. Especially when you see people going on about money, purchasing houses, buying gold and other expensive presents etc.

I feel that it has to be FOOD & WATER. You only have to look at how the massive supermarket chains are buying all the smaller shops and corner shops etc. They dictate to farmers and producers what they want, how they should grow it and what they will pay them. Making it virtually impossible for them to trade elsewhere. Despite having other things, how would you survive if there was no food and water, all the money in the world and other material objects would mean nothing.

So, what happens if things move forward towards the nwo and they have full control of food and water. Especially with the fairly new introduction of water meters in the UK. What would you do for food if they closed the supermarkets down to control people by witholding food and water. I remember a while ago when the petrol strike caused lots of supermarkets to totally sell out of things and there was a mass panic with people fighting, shoving and pushing to try and grab what was left because no food deliveries where going to be made.

I am starting to think that the best way forward for people besides stock piling food and water, is to grow your own food/beg/fruit and house some kind of water supply. I would like very much to do that and started to looking into collecting bottled water but then realised it has a short life span in the plastic bottles :( .

Does anyone remember seeing that American film, I cannot remember the name of it. It was the one set in the 1950's and the husband built some kind of fall out shelter underneath his house. Him and his wife thought a bomb or something was coming and they went underground and ended up staying underground with all their own food, bedrooms, kitchen etc for around 30 years, she was pregnant and her son grew up down there. Then they emerged back up on earth in the 1980's, it made you think.

Anyway I am interested to hear all of your views as to what you think is the most precious thing.

I want to live off of pills...

Just kidding :D

Well, I think people need to learn to eat small portions..

Of course, let's have sweets and the lot, but in ALOT smaller portions, you know.

What am I talking about?

I'm not in my zone yet.. sorry :(

I've got it..

I know what is precious for people.

The feeling that you have purpose, you feel safe, and that you never have to worry about problems, friends, family, and love.

Even if you only have a small garden or a small balcony you can successfully grow some food. I used to grow my own tomatoes, lettuce on my balcony when I had a flat with one. It's quite good fun too.

Many councils have allotments which can be good too. Though often you have to go on a waiting list to get one. The drawback with allotments is they arent exactly outside your front door. However the pluses are you can get heaps of advice from fellow growers.

the most precious things top 3 for me are:
1. love, happiness and acceptance (three different words, for one and the same)
2. not be in physical pain
3. good physical health

We are really blessed here in Australia, in most areas with our growing seasons.
Hubby and I have been growing our own for years, it always taste so much better than shop bought, especially tomatoes.
Before I met hubby, I used to do a bit of hunting and gathering where possible, I lived in the tropics then, where the fish were a plenty and you could get mangoes, coconuts and bananas for free just growing on the side of the road everywhere. Literally paradise, and I never spent a lot of money on food.
There seems to be another dimension to food that you have grown or caught yourself, another energy attached to it IYKWIM. :)
Community gardens are a great idea, we are looking at setting one up here in the near future, with some of our neighbours :)

Hi Neon,

Yes, Australia is a fabulous place for growing food. Where abouts in the tropics did you used to live? Fresh coconuts, mangoes and bananas sounds like my kind of place!

Food and water goes without saying, but for me personally, I'd have to say my dog and my plants :D

Consciousness: its the only "thing" with genuine value: all other "wealth" derives from it and depends upon it
