the revenue and customs sent details of all the people claiming child benifits by internal post...against there own rules... from Washington to Westminster...and the discs have gone missing...lost
they have everyones Names..Address..Date of Births..Bank accounts..NI numbers..... as Mr Darling Home Sec said in parliment today... don't worry about fraud ( fraud that they been ramming down our throats the last few weeks )..no need to change your bank accounts.... anyway it should not affect you because you should already be watching your own accounts for fraud..... all these systems they make us use and they do not keep them safe.....everytime you hear of such events the people who are so called keeping the data safe, are the ones who loose it..and nothing happens to them ( as dondaz doc on the data protection will show.... once he's done the final edit)....

If all that personal information was stored on a chip implanted in the body, then wouldn't have these problems:rolleyes:

Story doesn't add up too well -

Posting data (entire database) ? - get fucking serious ,

So no access to high speed intranet / internet between interdepartmental
terminals ?

I was under the impression that all authorized parties already had access to
a central database

This is definitely NOT what it appears

As others are speculating - this is leading somewhere else

Darling said they lost 2 CDs (or 1.4gb), couldn't they have saved that as back-up on another computer? & why send it through the post? they have their own servers, they could easily transfer a gigabyte from Sunderland to anywhere in the world in a few hours.

Yeah exactly!!....... this whole thing seems to me to be a deliberate attempt to spread fear among the populace, I notice the BBC are pushing the fraud alert for UK families......... scare stories like this are designed to spread fear, "The Powers That Be" are trying to keep us in a constant state of fear to keep our vibration low to stop people waking up, I'm sure a lot of people will be worried that their personal information might fall into the wrong hands......

in news reports today.. radio 4 (pm program) government spokesman stated that we need more, not less surcity on the peoples imfo.... you guested it ...eye scans .. fingerprints. the fact they have just lost all this imfo, when noway should they have..... they want us to give them more..it's ok it will make it safer????? !!!!!
maybe they have not lost any disc, just another stunt to fool the people into there control system.... it's ok 250,000 in south germany shop just using there finger print.... well I say NO !!
also on the same subject a lady working for the banks said something and you could tell by her voice she did not mean too, that even if this imfo got into the wrong hands, it would show up as a 10% increase on the computer banking fraud system...ONLY 10%.... so the banks lie all the time that it is safe....

Agree that this is total PRS.....

One thing I'd say is.....a package of which there is no proof ever existed, goes missing and then its the biggest news going.

This could have been hushed up easy. This would not be big news uinless it was ALLOWED to become big news, therefore it is DELIBERATE.

Who found out what happened? Who released the info to the media?

Again, the public think they're incompetent, people are sacked and 'tighter measures' will be brought in i.e. ID cards, Biometrics, Chipping.

P.R.fuckin' S.

I have had a knee jerk reaction to this I'm afraid and I have closed my bank account and reopened a new one with totally new number, pass-words etc. Totally paranoid I know but I don't trust any authority not even the bank... I am going to try open a post-office account to have family allowance paid in.. If I can't do that I will do without child benefit...I much prefer to try protect the account where my wages are paid into. I could be totally wrong, who knows?:(
