A Mildly Shocking Discovery

http://www.pennysleuth.com/issues/2007/11_14_07.html

Scientists are now confirming that electrical fields can promote wound healing.

As long as 150 years ago, the German physiologist Emil Du Bois-Reymond reported that small electric currents could speed healing.

New Scientist reports that Dr. Josef Penninger of the Austrian Institute of Molecular Biotechnology and Dr. Min Zhao of the University of Aberdeen, U.K., have shown that electric fields in tissue play a vital role in the wound-healing process. They attract cells to damaged areas responsible for repair.

According to Penninger, “It's not homeopathy, it's biophysics.” They have identified the responsible genes.

All cells and tissues function as chemical batteries, based on positively charged potassium ions and negatively charged chloride ions. When tissue is wounded, this is a kind of short-circuit. This unusual condition attracts and guides repair cells to the damaged area.

Using mouse cells and larger tissues such as corneas, Penninger and Zhao found they could speed up or stop the healing process by modifying electrical fields.

Essentially, they confirmed that the electric fields could control the healing process at the cellular level. They identified specific genes involved in the process. Interfering with migration “promoter” genes slowed the healing process. On the other hand, when the migration “blocker” gene received electrical interference, then healing became faster.

Subsequent research will focus on optimizing the phenomenon to accelerate healing.

According to Mark Ferguson, a wound expert at the University of Manchester, “For many years there have been anecdotal reports of the effects of electrical currents on wound healing. This paper not only demonstrates the effects of electrical currents on cellular migration to wound defects, it also provides a mechanistic understanding of how such signals alter cell behavior.”

Others are doing some interesting work in bioelectric healing. I am currently exploring several devices, including the Perkl-Lite and a device based on the Archimedean spiral.

A device patented by the Albert Einstein College of Medicine removes blood from the body. It then passes a 50 microvolt current through the blood and returns the blood to the body. According to the researchers, a variety of pathogens — including viruses — were killed by the current without harming the blood itself.

There are quite a variety of devices being marketed that purportedly use electromagnetic energy for healing purposes. Unfortunately, it's nearly impossible for the layman to distinguish quackery from valid discoveries. Regrettably, the absurdly expensive FDA approval process prohibits even companies with effective technologies from seeking regulatory approval.

For more details, I recommend the book Bioelectromagnetic Healing: A Rationale for Its Use by Tom Valone, Ph.D., a biophysicist and former U.S. Patent Examiner. Tom has studied a variety of these devices and covers the published research in his book.

In a groundbreaking book, The Biology of Belief, noted cell biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton explains the basic problem. Nearly all of the contemporary work in biology and medicine is still rooted in mechanistic Newtonian physics. Nearly everything else we do in science and technology is rooted in modern quantum physics.

Research, such as this, presages a paradigm shift.

Many thanks for your post! I've been studying some of these devices a few months now. I'm still a novice in the field, so far I've successfully built 2 zappers(Hulda Clark); see the thread I started 'Zappers&Devices...'.

Due to all kind of harassment from 'the government' and people who want to make easy money on these devices, the field is very confusing at the moment, to say the least. I've been reading some discussion groups(see my thread) and I've put a lot of time trying to understand the different theories and devices surrounding "electromedicine". Any help with clarifying the theories is welcomed. So far I've come to this preliminary division of devices:

1) The original Hulda Clark Zapper as described in her books: Its effect bases on frequency; the pulsating(30khz) positive DC-current "resonates" with the micro organisms, thus making them paralyzed or "explode". Different frequencies can be used (acc to H.C.) to target exactly the desired organism, but frequency isn't crucial.

2) The blood purifying devices: e.g. The Bob Beck device, Godzilla. As I understand the Bob Beck devices alters the current in stead of the voltage(as in H.C. Zapper) and is meant to purify the blood with the help of electrodes placed on the veins in e.g. your wrist. The Godzilla is just straight DC current applied to your body, correct? So in theory, you can't "purify your blood" with the H.C. zapper because it's based on frequency, and you can't "zap" with the Bob Beck device, correct?

3) The electromagnetic devices. I've not yet studied these thoroughly. They are devices that create a altering magnetic pulse which you apply on different parts of your body.

4) The Rife devices. As I've understood these are more powerful and more complicated devices than e.g. the zappers based on the original research of R.R.Rife. The exact frequencies destroy the targeted organism. There's a lot of confusion, in my opinion, in the "Rife-technology" because the original theories, devices and frequency charts have been distorted and modified not to work properly anymore. It's interesting to know that the revolutionary optic microscope that R.Rife invented an built can no longer be used because there are parts missing and no one really knows how to use it! And no one knows how to construct a new one. The most powerful optical microscope that he invented is crucial in studying the effects of electricity applied to organisms, because the high power electro microscopes that are used today interfere somehow with the "magnifying process", thus making it impossible to see the tiniest of organisms(Rife claimed he had seen the cancer virus).

And theres probably many more devices out there. Which one is the best, no one can say. I've had great success with my simple zappers. I am yet to explore the other devices. So, lets hope this very interesting field clarifies in the future so we can enjoy the benefits of correctly chosen devices to a specific disease. :)

Correction to my earlier post about the microscopes:

Optical microscopes have one major advantage over the modern electron microscopes; they allow the study of live specimens. An electron microscope operates in a vacuum and bombards the specimen with high energy electrons-not much can survive that!Excerpt taken from the excellent article called 'The End To All Disease' at THIS (http://www.rife.de/the_end_to_all_disease.html) site(scroll down to find the pdf). Highly recommended reading.

Wow! Take a look at this site:

NovoCure (http://www.novocuretrial.com/about.html)

Overview NovoCure is a privately held company dedicated to bringing a completely new cancer treatment modality into clinical use. Professor Yoram Palti, MD, Ph.D., founded NovoCure in 2000 to develop his research in treating cancer with electrical fields. The Company builds upon six years of research including cell culture studies, animal studies, and human trials. In addition to Professor Palti, the Company has assembled a world class team of experts who have spent their entire careers inventing, building, or commercializing innovative medical products.
This could be a real breakthrough, if the FDA don't mess it up of course... ;)

looks like the russians have been using more sphistcated technology for over thirty years.

their SCENAR device seems to me to be a smarter combo of both the beck and clark designs. but the purpose is not really to zap away parasites.

the devices sends out an electrical impulse, reads the response, and sends out a different singal in compliment to the reading.

The aim is to stimulate the body's own endogenous energies to effect the cure, creating a cascade of endogenous neuropeptides. This allows the body its own choice of healing ingredients; a sort of on-board pharmacy. Through biofeedback an interaction is formed between the tissues and the instrument, each new signal evolves as a new output. No two consecutive signals from the device are the same. This allows the treatment to be truly dynamic, adjusting for changes in the body through time and in different physiological states.

You want quick wound healing? Try utilising 630nm frequency infrared LED or set of LED's for the best wavelength. You'll notice that Cell tissue wavelengths usually range between 600nm - 720nm
