Hi this is my first proper post on this forum.
I was asleep in a small room a few years back... I opened my eyes for some reason.
There were small lights floating/hovering around my body. One of the lights was red in colour (this light seemed to attract my attention more) and there were two other colours, i think, blue and yellow.
I couldnt move my limbs and tried with all my strength to move my head which i managed to move a small amount and very slowly.
The lights floated around me for what seemed like 5 minutes while i was more or less unable to move and then suddenly the lights disappeared, my whole body relaxed and I had full control over my movement.
Ever since this experience I have felt and thought in a different way. If it makes sense - I am alot more thoughtful/inquisitive - since this experience.
I would be interested if anybody else has had similar experiences or has any thoughts on the matter.
cheers

Have you looked into "sleep paralysis"? Sounds like a fairly typical occurence which many of us have had, including myself many times. Do not think however that just because something has a name (i.e. sleep paralysis) that it can be fully explained.

yes, the "experts" call this "sleep paralysis" they have analysed what's happening in the brain during such episodes and CLAIM that the brain's activity at the time is the cause of the episode, much like many other psychic experiences that people have from astral projection to near-death experiences. Of course they completely overlook the strong likelihood (IMO fact) that the brain's activity at the time is simply processing a very real experience that occurs in another dimensional frequency from what they are observing.
and yes, I've experienced many such episodes.

I have had so called "sleep paraysis" it followed 5 or 6 nights drinking till 4am on holidays with mates a couple of years back.
I was lay trying to get to sleep for ages, what i felt was a dark shadow enter the room, no face or anything just a black shadow (even though it was dark) the feeling was absolutley terrifying, it felt like an evil force pushing down on me, i was completely paralysed,i could not speak, i was trying to scream and shout my mate asleep in same room, but no words would come out, it felt like it lasted 2 or 3 mins then was gone, i woke my mate up and told him, you can imagine the reaction !
I was really freaked out and worried by it, when i got home i did a bit of reasearch on google and found its quite common and known as "old hag syndrome"
With all honesty it was the scariest thing thats ever happened to me, the feeling of sheer evil was something i will never forget.

Hi, I have had a similar experience but not with lights above me. I have had "sleep paralysis" experiences multiple times in my life, and I really hate those experiences. If I am afraid before going to sleep, then I am even more afraid to fall asleep because I worry that it will happen to me. The strange thing with me is that, I can get scared really easily while awake.....since I was a small child (currently I'm 23); being afraid of aliens and evil spirits. However when I'm asleep I do not fear and even in my nightmares I seem to have unlimited power to escape or cause the demons or monsters to disappear. I suppose that's like lucid dreaming?
You may laugh but what works for me when I fight evil beings while asleep or in that sleep paralysis state, is praying while at the same time using the power of my soul to attack. I can feel it. I even know what it feels like while awake. At rare times I can intensely pray and I can feel my soul doing it in order to put more energy into the prayer. The thing is that I am often not in the right state to do this while awake in my every day life. I just get afraid more easily than the average person while awake.
One last thing. I think that anything wanting to harm you or enslave you _wants_ you to fear. Your fear strengthens them, but your recognition of your own power makes them as weak as they really are.

I have felt this sort of thing on more than a few occasions. It happens when I'm not really sleepy but sleeping anyways. I can remember a dream one time.....I was walking through some sort of tunnel....I seen a green ball of light pass before me ahead and got scared, then I began to feel really faint and dizzy....and passed out (fell to the ground). I was so scared. I kept asking myself...who do I call for? Who will help me?...then I said, as before....Jesus, Jesus.....and I seen Jesus (who I think it was) and all was Okay.

I am in no way religious anymore...but surely that name and belief means something to my inner self. Because it always helps me.

Hey there all,
I also have this "sleep paralysis " before quite a lot, i can't move but i am fully awake and i know that i am awake. Also sometimes it feels like somebody is sitting on my bed next to me and i can physically see my bed depress. Then after what seems like an eternity it all stops and i can move again. but yes i agree that it is truly frightening!!!all that is left is a fear that i don't want to go back to sleep.:(
