That there is a new Law in Sweden where they are alowed to film people that are held in custody and or if "they" are on a meating with the Social services etc. And they are alowed to do this without asking the civilization for permission. So thats that so much for civil rights when it comes to privicy.
With "they" I am referring to the state, that includes the police etc.

My daughter told me this the day before yesterday , and she had learned this from school.
So i did look it up and this is what i Found. I am sorry but the articles are all written in swedish . It sais that the state has the right to bug people on the phone and on the computers.

http://www.nyteknik.se/nyheter/it_telekom/allmant/article45687.ece

article about the police given the right to Bug people

http://sydsvenskan.se/kronikorer/ollelonnaeus/article280046.ece
here is another article about the same issue

http://www.idg.se/2.1085/1.87805

This is about secretive bug comunication with fiber cables underground.
This was the only thing i found though. But I will dig into this more .

I also want to mention that the reason we talked about this my daughter and i is because óf a tv show "insider". There was a woman being asked for interview and was told that her meating was flmed and that they wanted to ask her questions .

I`ve looked at the article from the newspaper. Basically it says the debate about bugging has been going on for 20 years and the governments decision means the security police can bug people suspected for crimes which carry a sentence of 4 years: Terrorists, murderers, drug smugglers and robbers. The court must give permission for the bugging. The method is going to be used maximum 40 times a year. To put micrphones in homes and cars and then listen to the recordings takes a lot of resources. Last year the police bugged 1,100 people´s telephones or had their calls monitored. More laws regarding bugging are on the way.

 Horrible. I didn't know that. Another thing is that just the other day I read in a newspaper that they will increase surveillance in schools in Sweden with more video cameras and stuff. No doubt as a result of the shooting spree in Finland recently.

this is the most disturbing:

Ett annat lagförslag, som sannolikt antas nästa år, går ut på att Försvarets radioanstalt (FRA) inte bara ska få avlyssna luftrummet, utan också gå in på den trådbundna teletrafiken över landets gränser. Men det är inte bara polis och politiker som vill avlyssna mer. Terrorattacker och maffiamord har gjort svenskarna mer villiga till att låta sig övervakas.

and from my own experince with the swedish military that if they have the options to do this then no one can never ever be safe. soon you will be able to google on others phone calls. the swedish military should not have anything with anything to do with. they are truly incompetent.

Recently i read that one of the big companies renting out flats wants to put a sensor system in each flat. This would enable them to control the temperature of the flat when no one is there, it can be cooler when no one is at home but warmer when they are. This would enable your movements to be tracked and recorded.

Ok so you are trying to be easy and funny. The word Levity means easy minded . That does not include being sarcastic ;)

Gordon Bennett!

In the UK we have this image of Scandinavia as a place of extreme liberalism: people walking about naked, open recreational drug use, free access to pornography etc.

Clearly we've been under false impressions! But to be honest I've been suspicious since that anti-EU politician was stabbed to death by a "another lone nut".

Sadly the wrong sort of education can generate prejudice.

Anna Lindh was murdered (assassinated?) just three days before she was to participate in the final debate about the Swedish election for or against the euro. She was for the euro...:eek::confused::eek:

True .. It is very sad to be faced with these kind of prejudices as I am swedish .Yes I know i should not take offence but still it is a bit annoying to try and talk civilized as an adult and always being faced with things like "oh I though all sweeds like having theire balls shown on tv" lol
:p

I get this:

levity |ˈlevətē|
noun
humor or frivolity, esp. the treatment of a serious matter with humor or in a manner lacking due respect : as an attempt to introduce a note of levity, the words were a disastrous flop.
ORIGIN mid 16th cent.: from Latin levitas, from levis ‘light.’

Don't be angry with me as it was not my intent to slight you. I am 50% Norse as my mother is here in Canada since the age of 8 Straight from Norway. That's why i wrote this:

I am sorry. It must be that my intent was misunderstood. If you want to still fight about it we can do that, as I like to interact with people in any form. But I didn't think you would be angry with me at the start.

Maybe a translation would be in order so that the rest of the members can read this :)

No sense in keeping secret that you are in the same condition as the rest of the world where surveillance is concerned.

Are your governments using the same tactics as the rest... More surveillance and more laws to make the people feel safe from terror and crime?

It is very interesting. Same thing in Norway. Same thing in Canada.

It's starting to be the same no matter where you live.

The idea for me is to live as far away from the big cities as I can. And so I MIGHT be able to see when it's time to run and hide. I don't want a microchip... I would rather eat flowers and bark from a tree.
