Had to laugh today

In work we have a sort of work newspaper, "children in need" time, pushing false charity solution, when in reality, wholesale changes need to happen at a personal and executive level for anything significant to occur. Orthodox charity to me perpetuates suffering by offering a false solution and ego bath for the participants whilst collecting lucre for gangsters and their war machines. The collator of the newspaper wants to know how we travel to work, any storys about our personal lives we want to share, what we are doing about our carbon footprint, how we are celebrating christmas, and there's pudsey with his red, blue, yellow green bandana covering one eye, extending a raised right hand next to a logo of masonic handshake and pryamid. Gets to the stage when it's that fucked up it's just funny, and you can't help laughing. Once you go through the initial horror and revulsion in the awakening there's a sort of black humour at being able to see through it, isn't there, or is that just me, being sick in the head, in one very sick fucked up planet ?

Its stupid stuff that you're laughing at. I laugh at it too, like when people get pissed at me. I got shoved off of my bike Monday by some pissed dude in his balding age and I kept laughing at him. It didn't hurt or anything.

I had a friend many years ago, who was 2nd mate on a merchant ship, taking aid to Africa or India. When they got into port, men with guns started selling the aid. My friend never donated to that charity again.

For myself, I don't donate to big national / international charities.
I investigate - as best I can - any charities that I am interested in.

As I have a limited budget, I tend to give with my time, or by making items that can either be used directly or sold to raise funds.

I think the corruption side to some charities, may be why some people get directly involved with a charity, such as collecting 'shoe-boxes', and then driving lorries to orphanages in Eastern Europe.

Why is this thread in here, and not in General? Surely it would get a better viewing there.

Well lets look at the Tsunami several years ago, the red cross received something like £400m in charity donations but only gave out £200m to help the people, the rest was to go in a "slush fund" for other disasters.

They must be laughing their asses off !!

Don't give money to these corporate fuck-holes to piss up the walls, surely to make small gestures of kindness to the needy on a day to day basis is better than a monetary contribution and make your efforts count in your own community.

For example, theres a homeless guy who hangs out near my station, every other day or so he receives a free sandwich and a smoke from me... simple stuff to make a shit day better for someone...
