Yes, but later in the movie it develops that he isn't crazy - that he was an MKULTRA subject, made into an assassin etc...and the conspiracy is unveiled.
Hardly discrediting. But it's just a movie. Good movie mind.

When Gibson makes the speech we can presume he's paranoid and slightly
deranged,by the way he's acting,right?
Does acting in this way give credit to his speech at the time? if so.how?
