Waiting for the train yesterday I watched people as I tend to do LOL Probably comes from having no television.

I saw a mother with two young kids one around 8 the other in a buggy. They were also waiting for the train. As the mother purchased her tickets from the office she was on her mobile speaking to someone somewhere else. After that she proceeded to have a text conversation with someone somewhere else. On the whole ignoring the children until the eldest did something she disapproved of.

Outside most of the people who were alone were texting others. A young man was with his girlfriend/partner and texting someone, somewhere else.

It seems we are co-existing but all "somewhere else" mentally. Even at home we may sit in the same room but we are watching television so are not really interracting with the people around us.

Another observation was childrens buggies. Many years ago children faced their mothers in prams and buggies - now they mostly face the other way. Why? Why have they disconnected the babies from their mothers in this way? I find it sinister.

Wow intresting post, reminds me of a song by Marillion (Fugazi)
part of the lyrics goes something like this........"Wearing Walkman with halo of distortion aborting pregnant converstion"
If anyone is wondering what a Walkman is, it was one of the first personal potable stereo tape players you could strap to your belt and listen to with headphones, whilst walking along lol.

I try keep my mobile phone turned off as often as possible, problem is you're always wondering if someones going to call about something important, so it's always on you're mind even if only on a subconcious level.

Very intresting!! Mobile phones to blame but maybe also the internet?
I noticed that just because something is on the internet, its classed as "fact"?

Is this fact?............

thanks, nota! great post!

These ordinary situations have been around for thousands of years. we are taught from a very young age to "check out". look what happened to the child; s/he was very much present and probably doing something fascinating to him/her, and mommie shot him/her a dagger (energetically speaking). that says to the kid: gee, i'd better be seen and not heard. i'll be safe if i check out, just like mommie does.

who needs the illuminati when we parent our kids and live our lives this way?! it seems to me we our our own worst enemy, sometimes.
