This was the stupidest thing I've ever seen. This country is loosing respect fast, and for what? The people? No, it's shit like this...

I read this today in the NY Times and was appalled. The thing is, this sort of shit is pretty common, really. All the Video News Releases (VNRs I believe they're called?) and so forth have been going on for awhile. I have to wonder if this wasn't some sort of psy-op sort of thing or something, just b/c it was so blatant and sloppy, that they couldn't possibly have thought they were going to get away with it. I sort of feel the same way about 9-11, Abu Ghraib, and other incredibly bad cover-ups where they must have known in advance that tons of people were going to find out about it. It's kind of like they know they'll fool most of the people, yet the ones they know won't be fooled, it acts as a sort-of "yeah, we know you know; what the fuck are you going to do about it?! Therefore, be wise and stay in line or else this is going to happen to you!"

The World is finding out about America, after all you former President did warn:

""You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
Abraham Lincoln" (attributed)
16th president of US (1809 - 1865)

Well, the VNRs that I mentioned above are pre-packaged adverts which are passed off as news on many stations in the US (and probably in other countries). As far as something as in-your-face as the recent FEMA conference, nothing that I know of specifically. I imagine since you're on this forum, you are familiar with the standard control of the media and all its attendant propaganda? The reason I had the above speculation is because this reported instance is quite beyond the pale, as far as I know.
