I have noticed that mainstream media has started to use the name 'Usama' Bin Laden instead of 'Osama' Bin Laden. Could that have something to do with legal procedures? If a lawsuit is filed against a mainstream media company accusing it for deliberately spreading false information, then they can perhaps say in the court that, no, we were writing about Usama Bin Laden, not Osama Bin Laden.

Is the letter 'U' the same as the letter 'O'?

Of course in the public minds, the names Usama and Osama will be interchangeable, but what about the strict regulations for how to file a lawsuit?
