Ive noticed that there is an increasing number of posts that are just links to other websites etc.Thats all very fine,we need has much info as possible, but i like to see and read what people think on a personal level. That's what i like to see on a forum.....loads of different viewpoints,it makes it far more interesting. Also, some posts are a tad too long.:)

personally, i like links. they don't clutter up the site, and if i don't want to click on them, i don't.

they're better than people cutting and pasting huge chunks of other people's writing. that's like electronic constipation; it clogs the flow of ideas.

as for being too long, sometimes it takes a bit of text to work out a point. i admit some of my posts are longish. guilty as charged! please don't hold it against me. i'm a 5 on the enneagram, and a 5 will build you a clock to tell you what time it is! :D

I feel links are great.

On many occasions I will be about to look something of interest up on the net and then I find someone has posted the link I need on this forum :)

It saves me the hunt for the info which can sometimes be a long drawn out task having to sift through pages of rubbish to find the good stuff.

Also links are a great way to follow up something written, as a source to the info which may have influenced someones viewpoint. it gives others a chance to read the info and either come up with a similar or differing viewpoint, that makes for great discussion on threads IMO

I thank everyone for the links they provide here, I have a pile of them stored away and saved and I watch the video's or read the info/articles as time permits

Cheers

footnotes are good. when I see them, I know I'm dealing with someone thoughtful and thorough.
