Does it?
It's news to me but this is what I was told last night by a scientist at a meeting to counter global warming. When asked what is wrong with nuclear power the first thing I was told was that "did I know they had plans to bury nuclear waste deep underground aprox 1KM below the surface where geothermal effects would mean that it was kept at 32c". Then I asked what was wrong with that. The answer apparently is that it would get so hot that it would all boil away. Just to be clear about this since I had to ask again whether they meant it would be at 32C and the answer was yes it would boil away at this temperature.
Now that was just one fact I was being told by a doctor of science who I think was retired from Bristol University but I had a half an hour of these myths. Then on with the talk with some school production that they had helped create in the form of a short radio play where they intimated that the recent tsunami was global warming induced.
You people might think greens are thick but you have not seen anything yet unless you have seen them in action. I had to explain to the head Green Party man what the difference was between negative and positive feedback since he was talking about it in relation to climate change. In front of the entire audience he admitted he did not know what he was talking about!
Dumbing down is in progress. Beware.
