Hi,
My wife came home from work recently and told me that she had seen a strange dull metallic tubular object high up in the sky. Then shortly afterwards she saw the same object flying parallel to the road she was driving on appear to follow her car for a few miles and then disappear.

Last week I was in my garden in the early evening when I saw what I believed to be the same object flying high up over the house. It left no vapour trail, had no wings or tail and looked for all intents and purposes looked like the casing of a women’s lipstick holder. I watched it fly south for a few moments before it too disappeared as if by magic.

Has anyone heard reports or seen this thing for themselves?

Regards
Solowrist

Good sighting, you've had a classic cigar sighting there:)

I had a sighting of a big black shinny cigar back in 2003 which was moving in a very controlled manor, at a rough etsimate of distance, the object had to be at least 150 foot long!

Here are some pics:)

Oh mercury, I am disappointed, the old balloon answer!:(

This object was at plane altitude and displayed a very smooth and controlled movement. If this was a balloon, the wind currents would have tossed it all over the place displaying erratic movements.
Also, I have had many sightings of other objects. So put in context, this is no balloon.

When looking into UFO sightings, one has to suggest all plausible possibilities. If you don't think that what you saw was a solar balloon, then fair enough, but the object in the photos does look like one. :) I am not a debunker and I am not criticizing your sighting, I'm just calling it as I see it.

It may look like a solar balloon, doesn't mean it is one!;)

At the time of this sighting, my OH couldn't even see it through the bins! This has happened before when not everyone can see a UFO.....

I showed this footage to friends of mine who are very used to seeing UFOs, they agreed it was not a balloon.

Perhaps you could send a copy of your footage to:

UFO Data Magazine,
PO Box 280,
Leeds,
LS26 1AN.
United Kingdom.

If the editor thinks it's something out of the ordinary, he'll probably follow it up.

Sorry, I'm dealing with FSR now (Flying Saucer Review):)
I used to send my old stuff to UFO Magazine, but stopped after Graham passed away.

The vast majority of UFO sightings can be explained as mundane objects. That is not a debunker's response, it is a fact. We have received footage of solar balloons that have been mistaken for UFOs before. I'm sure FSR will come to a similar conclusion. If not, then they're not doing their job properly.

There have been a hell of a lot of sightings of orange orbs lately. Most, if not all, of these will be Chinese or Thai lanterns that have become very popular for outdoor parties recently.

Keeping a sceptical viewpoint and keeping one's feet on the ground does not mean one is a debunker or disbeliever.

Tell me about, I've seen enough fooking balloons to know what one looks like, they look like balloons!
What I have seen and filmed are not:)

Yeah, I remember your sighting:)

Well, I can tell you that FSR has come to the conclusion that mirrors mine. I know the editor well, he has confirmed that it is not a solar balloon, the controlled movement is the key. He has been in the field of ufology for many years now and has seen and experienced some very strange things indeed, so he knows what he is talking about.:)

By the way, FSR in my view is the most well written and investigated UFO magazine out there. The information contained in each issue is 'hardcore' and pulls no punches.

Fair enough... I'll leave it at that. Did he even consider solar balloons, might I ask?

Yes he did. Like I said the altitude and movement was a factor in ruling out the solar balloon answer.
