hehe ok i'm post this anyway i don't know if you'll think it's funny or not but anyway...
french faux pas i've made lol
Last night me and the OH were watching star academy :D funny in itself lol
I was listening to one guy saying (in french) how he decided to give up everything, his job, leave his studies behind (and just go for the singing career like) and i heard him say "et j'ai pris du cornichons" which basically means "and i took gherkins" lol prounounced "pri-do-cornichon".
so i was like WTF, what did he do with the gherkins lol, ok it must be some kind of french saying...like to take the bull by the horns sort of thing....:D
So i asked the OH "what does pris du cornichons" mean? Does it mean to take a risk?
And he said oh no, "pris des cours du chant"! prounounced " pri-do-coordochan" is what he said!!! heheh "to take signing lessons"!!!!:D
I guess you had to be there cause it doesn't sound funny here now! DOH!
haha said fast pri-do-cornichon and pri-do-coordochan" sounds the same lol
Funny though i thought the guy was saying "i decided to quit everything, my job, my studies and take some cornichons!"

Another time when i really didn't understand french at all, my OH's dad asked me one day: susie, do you think i'm a "gros con"?
And me being in my saying "oui to everything they ask just to be on the safe side stage" said confidently OUI! :D
And he couldn't believe it lol cause he had just asked me if i thought he was a big bastard and i said yes, i think you're a big bastard!!! haha to my fiancé's dad!
