Hi! I'm new here too, just joined last night. Since this is the talent part of the forum I'd like to share a poem. Let me know if you like it? Thanks!!!:D
Buttercup, Daisy, Me (A nature poem)
A steady rock
In a moving stream
Calls to you
One morning
And says
Come take me
Out of this
Water
To a dryer
Place to be
Shimmers in the
Sand
Set your spirit
Free
Picking up the
Little one
And tossing him
Up stream
The fishies frighten
Out of the way
As you make room
For yourself
To lay in the shade
Of the tree
Whose reflection
Glistens out from
Underneath me

Well, I use a Tascam 414MKII 4 track recorder (cassette tape) and also Audacity freeware. And I just try to allow my emotions at the time to flow outward and hopefully find noises/sounds that best represent them. I set out to have fun and enjoy the process first and foremost, even though some of the emotions can be difficult to work with. I really just try to "let it happen" the way that it feels it needs to. Thanks for checking out my noise!! :D

Very nice sitara....... I'm not big on poetry because alot of it is just artsy fartsy language that I struggle to understand or just long and boring but your poem was very easy to comprehend and was easy to form some nice visuals to go with it......post more if you have some..... and don't get too fancy....you have a nice style here..... and welcome!

Hey sitara...... I just realized how your poem reminded me of camping...... I was always fascinated by rocks under water and took hundreds of pictures of them....I will try to post a couple....

I listened to a few of your songs the other day and I noticed the emotion coming through from your music. In the songs that I had a listening to I deciphered a haunting sadness. It is great that you express yourself through the amazing art/science of music. I love to sing, although not to anyone in particular, but it has a soothing effect on me. Does the music you make also sooth you? I mean in the way of how you get out the emotions that you said are difficult to work with.

I gauge a songs "sounding good" by how closely I can get it to translate or carry over the feelings that inspire it. I don't know if any of my music "soothes me" as I can't listen to it objectively. But it can be an enjoyable experience for me if it comes out as a sonic reflection of my etheric emotions. I have Major Depressive Disorder and I'm sure that has a total impact on everything I write/record. Thanks for listening to my material, it means a lot!! :D

Hi onourway!!! I'm really glad that you enjoyed my words, I have notebooks full of poetry that sometimes I'm just itching to share with someone. I'd love to post some more for you to see. There is another one that I posted the other day in the 'A poem of loneliness' Thread by fifthelement. You can check it out if you like. It's kind of in response to the poem that he put up :D
Do you go camping often?
I've only been camping once and it was on a class trip in middle school, it was a lot of fun and the mountains, forests, and the lake looked just amazing. Have you ever been canoeing before? I've done it once, and its so awesome...very peaceful and relaxing. I'd love to see your pictures of rocks underwater, I have some pictures that I took near my house of crows, the creek, trees and rocks too. Maybe I could share some of those as well:D

What are some of the things that do soothe you? sorry if I am getting weirdly personal, I'm kind of weird that way I guess.
I've never heard of Major Depressive Disorder before, is it by any chance related to Manic Depressive (Bipolar)? That's what I have.

Here's a link to a page on MDD. I use to read a lot about it, but realized that reading about it made me feel even more depressed. :p
Major depressive disorder - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hmmm, things that soothe me.....
Well, I'm BIG into herbs!! I love 'em!! Herbal teas, drink 'em everyday!! I don't think I could cope without them as I have never had much luck with pharmaceuticals for my depression. Always got shafted with all the side-effects and none of the helpful benefits. Anywho, I really love herbals. Uhhhh, I like to meditate although I don't do it nearly enough!! (Perhaps part of my problem, hahaha) I like being out in Nature, taking walks in wooded areas. I'd say that those are some of the best ways I've found to get my soothe on. Oh, and listening to music, gee-whiz, I gotta have music!!! :D
And I'd love to read more of your poetry!! The one you posted already was really good, it brought scenery to mind and that's always good!! AND those pictures of Nature you have, those would be awesome to see as well!!! :D

Hehehe...I've heard that herbal teas have many benefits, I should drink them more often. What are some good ones, that work well for you? I'm on meds and I have to stay on them probably for the rest of my life it seems, but I'd like to know what else could help my mood out. I've also heard that Vitamin D helps to improve mood as well. I've tried to meditate in that way of just clearing everything from my mind but it seems I don't have much patience for it lol I have a visualization that I do at night for protection from negativity and it really helps me to feel safer and even makes me feel happier. In case you'd like to know what it is, it's just visualizing yourself in a gold sphere, shining brilliantly like gold. You are sitting inside of this sphere and no negativity or darkness can penetrate it. You hold that visualization in your mind's eye for about 3-5 minutes, and then ground yourself. I do this at night and it can also be used for daytime as well. Although I always forget to do it during the day, and I really shouldn't cuz it helps a lot I've noticed.
I love being out in nature too, I go for walks with my sister sometimes, and biking through the park near my house or rollerblading when the weathers nice. Do you like walks in the rain? There's just something about walking in the rain that I enjoy. Oh and always with my mp3 player:D
What's your favourite kind of music to listen to?
I sure will post more poems for you to see, and those pictures. But for now I'm going to go and get ready for the day since I woke up kind of late.
It was great talking to you phemohilia!!!:D Take care

Hey Phemohilia! I'd like to say that I was named after The Ren and Stimpy cartoons but it's actually an East Indian name, but it helps people remember it much better after I say, hey its kind of like a combination of Ren and Stimpy! lol I usually get a few chuckles after that.:)
Thanks so much for all those links on herbs, I will take a look at them:D
I know of some of the bands you've listed but there's some that I haven't heard of before at all. I'll have to check some of them out on youtube:D
I listen to a lot of Cranberries, Dolores O'riordan, Delerium, Sneaker Pimps, Kelli Ali, Damian Marley, Lights, Matthew Good, Natasja(Danish Singer, deceased), Serebro(Russian group), some of t.A.T.u's russian stuff as well as other types of music. I have this thing with the Russian language, I really like the way it sounds. Although I don't actually know what they are saying when they sing, I've looked through some of the translated lyrics of the songs. Some of them don't translate that well into English but it's still very interesting to listen to, hehe. I've even learned some of the lyrics so I can sing along:p I'd like to actually learn how to speak it...maybe someday, I've tried to on my own, with those teach yourself how to speak russian cassettes and booklets but it's a difficult language to learn and I need a real teacher.

Hey brother
Do you get tired?
Do you ever lose your senses?
Do you ever cry?
Why do you hide?
When you can fly
Your soul's free
In all that beauty
Above and beyond
Me
And it goes deeper
You're the other man
From another place
And time
Wings of love
In motion
Light
Of your eyes
Are a caress
Soft as a feather
Warm
Subtle
And it goes
Deeper
Still...

Baby's blue
So are you
Aglow
And warm
I feel safe
Because it's you
When it turns
Dark
And the air is
Cold
You're my sun
My source
For heat
A thousand flowers
Bloom
When your love
Pours over me
You're the brightest
Hue
I've ever seen
Stars magnify
Your light
A trillion times
And when you
Come near
You're the only
Sound I hear
Let's just say
I love you,
My dear

Dedicated To You
They are
I dedicate this
To you
That I've never
Thought something
Could go wrong
But you do
Pulling me under
With you
I feel like
The fool
For studying you
And believing
There was something
I liked
In you
But there's nothing
You act like
A gold cloud
I should walk through
And I should...
There's nothing here
That you could
Love
Because you can't
Love
What kind of man
Are you?
That I see a void
Within you

A rose is reaching out
To me
A kiss I have
For it
Like the sun
Gives
I embrace her
And
As I do
She softens her
Thorns
So it won't hurt
Anymore
We entwine
And
She showers me
With her sweet
Fragrance
Petals like satin
Smooth
Moving over me
She caresses,
Strokes
And
Tickles me
Covering me
So that
Wandering eyes
Cannot behold
Our pleasure
In this secret garden
Of the rose

I've been closed down
Dormant
For way too long
Will you come down
And
Shine your love
Melt the ice
That holds me
In place
Will you help me
To set myself free
And
Find my way
Out of the dark
That cloaks my sight
Will you bring down
The light
For my little lamp
Waiting in the dust
Will you come down
Tonight
And
Give me your smiles
Of
Delight
For I will cherish them
In this fight

Tranquilizer
It's in me
Desensitizing
Rescue me
From the dullness
It feels blunt
Hitting me hard
Can't find the words
When there's pressure
On my head
Making me drift
Away into sleep
Where I stay

I guard my heart
Especially from you
I hide my heart
Because it beats
The loudest for you
And I feel lonely
I am alone here
When my mind
Wanders
Looking for you
Words I write
Seem to always
Lead to you
Bringing your image
To my inner sight
Is like bringing
The sun
You chase away
The cold
And make me hot
Between my breasts
I can only wonder...
Who you are,
That does this
To me so

Attack
Anxiety
It's daunting
I need to
Get rid of this
Fast
Get away
From their mind games
And twisted math
They are lost
Unto themselves
Spreading their disease
Just to get a laugh
Are you with me?
Or
Will you fall deeper
Into their trap
Spun by wicked tongues
Fueled by a deluded wrath
