If you haven't seen this fantastic movie shame on you, drop everything and go watch it.

If you have, you might recall the last 20 mins or so, where Stephen Falcon, the one who invented Joshua, the WOPR super computer that handles all the functions of the military, gets into NORAD with David and his girlfriend.

Joshua is reporting on the massive screens in the base that there are 2,400 Soviet warheads on a collision course with the United States. The General is about to launch a counter attack that would effectively destroy the Soviets.

Stephen comes in, sees all the warheads on approach on the massive computer screens and the scene goes something like this:

Falcon: "It's a bluff John, call it off."

John: "No it's not a bluff it's real."

Falcon: "Hello General Barringer, Stephen Falcon"

Barringer: "Mr. Falcon you picked a helluva day for a visit!"

Falcon: "General...what you see on these screens up here is a fantasy...a computer enhanced hallucination. Those blips are not real missiles, they're phantoms."

John: "Jack, there's nothing to indicate a simulation at all. Everything's working perfectly."

Falcon: "But does it make any sense???"

Barringer: "Does what make any sense?"

Falcon(points to screens): "THAT!"

Barringer: "Look, I don't have time for a conversation right now!"

Falcon: "General...are you prepared to destroy the enemy?"

Barringer: "You betcha!"

Falcon: "Do you think they know that?"

Barringer: "I believe we've made that clear enough."

Falcon: "Then don't. Tell the President to ride out the attack. General, do you really believe that the enemy would attack without provocation, using so many missiles, bombers and subs, so that we would have no choice but to totally annihilate them??? General you are listening to a machine. Do the world a favor and don't act like one."

And this is what amazes me about sheep. The control structure literally doesn't make any sense. Their rules and laws are ridiculous and no one questions it. They just blindly follow orders because they see a bunch of stuff that's reported by officials as ACTUALLY HAPPENING, ala the computer screens in Wargames. When this entire reality, like what Falcon says, "a fantasy...a computer enhanced hallucination"...it's not real, and like the movie, doesn't make any logical sense. But the General is about to destroy the Soviets because he sees a bunch of blips on a computer screen! Likewise people do what they're told because they see a bunch of "official" stuff on their computer screens/televisions!

And as everyone in the movie watches the screens as the warheads "hit", they're literally shaking with fear because it SEEMS real, but it's just a bloody computer screen! Like us, we see this false, illusory reality and all the official nonsense and shake with fear because we believe it's real, when it's merely a holographic simulation.

Again, I highly recommend the movie, it's one of my top ten, and the dialogue is much better acted out in the film...the actors do a brilliant job...the absurdity really comes through much better in the film.
