View Full Version : Weird Dream

I'm not sure if this is the right area to post this, or even if it's appropriate to post on this forum at all, but it's really playing on my mind so figured I'd post anyway.

Last night I had one of those really weird "realistic" dreams where I was the only audience member at a Radiohead concert. The whole auditorium was empty bar me and it was in complete darkness. Radiohead were on stage and the spotlight was on them. They played "Karma Police" in full then when the song was finished bowed their heads for about 10 seconds before launching in to "Creep". When that had finished they bowed their heads for about 10 seconds and then launched in to "Paranoid Android".

That's all I remember of the dream. The strange thing is I'm not a massive Radiohead fan and these are the only three songs of theirs I know. I'm wondering what the hell the dream means. Is there some sort of symbolism that anyone with more knowlege than me can see here?

Oops. What an embarrasing faux pas in that case ....

Hi grover66

Wow that was an interesting dream. I have no idea what it means though as I'm not a Radiohead fan, so don't know what lyrics the songs contain. What is your take on it, from the lyrics point of view?

Hi Lookfar! I'm not really sure myself, as I'm not really a fan either. I know the "Creep" lyrics .. ."I'm a creep, I'm a weirdo", etc. "Karma Police" is somethign about "this is what you get when you mess with us" and the other song I really couldn't tell you!

I guess it's just one of those dreams we have that tend to haunt us the next day but that probably mean nothing. Although it does seem strange considering that I'm not really that familiar with them. Maybe I should google the song lyrics in case something leaps out at me :)

Yeah good idea, it must mean something if it's playing on your mind still. Let us know what you think after you've read them, I'm intrigued too now, lol!!:D

In the dream you where the only one at the gig so it was intended for you alone , in dreams all the people areaspects of yourself anyway .RadioHead would suggest trying to get a message to you radio to your head .Karma police as well as saying you think or feel you could be being observed byt he karma police is there anything conciously you are going over in your mind or life now , if not maybe thoughts of karma and healing are taking place .Then Creep could suggest you are giving yourself a hard time over something , think back to any relationships or freindships where someone maybe judged you over something wich follows with paranoid android saying that you have a fear of past karma and having to pay for it .Also marvin the paranoi dandroid was a manic depressive robot in hitchhikers guide so maybe it was something to do with feeling depressed over your own past in some way .Healing takes place on lots of different levels maybe you are just subconciously releasing old thought patterns and behaviour .Dreams are the minds way of analysing and either storing info or releasing it when no longer needed . Remmeber we judge ourselves far more tha nothers do so maybe lighten up on yourself if you have a tendency to give yourself a hard time .I recorded my dreams for seven years and still recal them now and find its a good therapy as wellas theoccasional intuitive insight . hope that gives you an idea of what to look for even if the interpretation isnt correct ,go over several different options to see wich feels right to you as it is your message to yourself.:D

Wow great post 2013, that really resonated with me. I've been trying to keep track of my dreams for a few weeks now & still find it hard to reach over for the pen when I'm still half asleep, so haven't recorded them all, lol!:o I must try harder!!:)

Lol you do get out of the habit easily i was told to keep a record again a while back as i was dealing with throat cancer and was guided by my dreams as usual but i didnt record them for the same reason but i still recal them .Once you start to do it it gets easier .When you 1st wake up think about what you have dreamt before actually writing it down if you can ,also one little piece of info written sometimes triggers loads more even later i nthe day .Its just a matter of training your mind to do it .The yseems to use theese techniques a lot to control themsleves and others so its about time we learnt to use it to our advantage .Try it for a while see how it goes its much better than tv .:D

Hi 2013
Sorry for the delay in replying to this, it got buried amongst all these posts, lol!:)
Wow, that's brilliant news that you've overcome your throat cancer, well done you, you're a shining example of what we can all achieve if we really put out minds to it & do the work!!:D
I know what you mean about trying to record them & I have been getting a little bit better over the past week or so (well I've managed to record 2 anyway, which is better than none, lol!) I will try to keep it up & see if it becomes easier. I could do with my writing being a bit neater at that time in the morning though as the 1st one I recorded I can't really read, doh!!:o Yep, anything is better than tv, I don't really watch it much anymore :)

I'm glad to hear you managed to beat your throat cancer too, 2013 ... you don't actually say that you did, but I'm guessing that you did?

I've been told to do that, keep a notebook by the side of the bed and as soon as you wake up write down what your dream was. Trouble is, I'm never that organised :) Although I think I will make a concerted effort to start doing that just as a personal experiment. I usually find that I can't remember dreams I've had at night, but if I go for an afternoon "nanna nap" I have the most vivid dreams.

Well once you start to recal or record even the tiniest detail the nit all starts to come back .Napping in the day can trigger the memory of earlier dreams as well . I always ran round like a headless chicken trying to find penand paper if i stayed out unexpectedly but i havent recored the mfor years as i said but still recal them , your brain learns to remember , if u can
get a small voice recorder if you have asmall voice :rolleyes:that would be good but you might feel a bit odd describing some of your dreams out loud
as the meanings are never what they appear to be its all in symbols and imagery .so sometimes it can take a bit of explaining to anyone reading them! :eek:And yes grover i did get the all clear so thanks to you and looksfar for that feedback :D

Hi 2013
Only just came across your reply as I've hardly been here this past week.
Thanks for the sound advice. I am still struggling though, as I woke up at 5am today wanting to write something down & instead went back to sleep. When I got rudely awoken by the alarm at 6.30 I had already forgotten what it was, doh!!:o

Can you do short hand ? or even just write a symbol or a few words just the basics something to trigger the memory when you wake up properly , its that easy, although not so easy to read when its written in half asleep mode :D

Hi 2013 :)

I had another vivid dream the other morning (which was my 2nd DI dream, freaky!) I woke up & thought "OMG that was so real & another DI dream, must write it down", but then I told myself that it was so vivid that I'd recall it no problem & must've turned over & went back to sleep.... now I can't recall a damn thing about it at all, humph!:( I must get more written down & I do have my own version of shorthand, which I cansometimes work out afterwards, lol!
