There's more to this song than I ever thought. Recently had some very odd synchronicity with this song and felt an urge to look up it's lyrics. Very strange because what the song goes on about is very much related to what I've been thinking about and pondering these past few weeks.
Yeahhh, Huh, ah
I may run and hide
When you're screamin' my name, alright
But let me tell you now
There are prices to fame, alright
All of our time spent in flashes of light
Chorus:
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality
Every time we're down
You can make it right
And that makes you larger than life (alright)
Looking at the crowd
And I see your body sway, c'mon
Wishin' I could thank you in a different way, c'mon
Coz' all of your time spent keeps us alive
Chorus:
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality
Every time we're down
You can make it right
And that makes you larger than life (larger than life)
Ohhhh, yeah, that's right
All of your time spent keeps us alive
Everytime we're down, and make it right
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality
Every time we're down
You can make it right
And that makes you larger than life
Yeah, every time we're down
Yeah, you can make it right
Yeah, that's what makes you larger than life yeah
Chorus:
All you people can't you see, can't you see
How your love's affecting our reality
Every time we're down
You can make it right
And that makes you larger than (that make you larger than)
That makes you larger
Does this even make sense in a backstreet boys song? It seems like there's obviously some deeper meaning to this... Almost like they're openly mocking us, I mean look at the chorus.

well i think i dont need to comment on that strongly as it is very obvious
welcome to the "they say it straight into your face" section :D
we have listed the backstreet boys album covers as well in the thread "illuminati album covers".

Just sounds to me like they are saying that its the fans that make it worth it

yes. and that is the full truth what they are singing. crazy, eh?
the fans keep the money rolling ... thats just a confession of the music industry in disguise of the BSB.
you can turn these text lines also larger... not only in relation to the BSB.

This sounds quite positive to me

yes it is positive as they say the full truth.
but do the fans see it?
its just like playing around with the fans.
fans = fanatics usually dont see it.
you can interpret in on the love way
or on the naked truth way
they do sing about fame that makes the song more relative to blind fans.

that the consumers (fans) have the power to pull them down.
fanatics usually buy every shit of the band. i think everybody of us experienced that.
the fan's love (stuff buying) is affecting their reality (their lifestyle).
just watch into the other thread bout the documentary of left eye. she is simply explaining a little about that.

No I get that part - but what is the conspiracy here? most fans know that bands etc need them to consume their products.

its not much about conspiracy as they say the truth here. but you can see it also as a help call. they sing when they are down. of what are they down? of the cruel managers? or that life has its ups and downs? and when the fans give love (money) they are happy soon? they sing about the fame stuff. fame does make stars unhuman because we (when we become fans) make them unhuman (think they are gods and shit) beside the PR companies promoting them as golden cows...
its just a mind game. depends on who the songwriter was. im not a bsb fan. i dont know who wrote it.
but in my personal opinion, bands like them never sing the truth or give love back. so it does make sense posting that here in the subliminal section.
without fans in general the music industry cant shit on like they do. and because of that we are fans this makes us larger than life because we participate it and support it.

i think the thread starter said it right and thats also what i think when i see it subliminally. they are mocking the listeners.
now i cant listen to the song anymore like a dumb cow. rofl.
arent they disguised as robots in the video?
there you have it. kinda matrix theme.

It sounds totally positive to me, of course you can see the positive and negatives in it. But if you're aware enough.. you can make those lyrics positive for yourself.
IF the love you have for the Backstreet Boys effects their reality to a positive one, every time they're down. Then what can someone else's love or just the love for yourself and the world do for you when you're down? :D
And that's what makes us all larger than this illusion.
So yes, I'm sure the songwriter was chuckling to himself like a clever Tom when he wrote it ''oh the little girls with their posters won't get this hahahahaha, we're so clever and illuminated'' but it seems not even these 'illuminated' people realize their knowledge can be used positively or negatively.
