Oil Spill Cover-Up

I've heard some interesting information on the BP/Gulf Oil disaster... Supposedly the reason they are not just stopping the leak is because there is a very high risk of a sea-floor explosion, which would cause a catastrophic disaster if that were to occur. The sea floor has already been compromised after the initial rig explosion, capping the leaks could cause the pressure to build until the sea-floor just explodes, opening up a massive hole which would be just about impossible to stop. Has anyone heard this?

goodness no! i think i would feel better believing that it's something that they're letting go on for whatever sinister reason ,than this.

def a possibility, the video that they are constantly showing of the gusher has always looked strange to me, it was suggested that a may be a looped tape.
