Yesterday I visited an area on Tenerife where according to a news report on a video I found a chupacabra had once killed two dogs.

Montaña de Taco where a chupacabra was once reported (video included):

I've been to Gran Canaria but not Tenerife.
It was a hell of a tourist trap, but there are some nice things to see there.
There's a jeep safari run by some guys out at mas palomas that does pickups from the various towns in the south before they set off.
IIRC it costs around €50 each...really well worth it though as you got a full days drive all over the island and they take their time.
Some fascinating cactus that had some fruit which tasted surprisingly sweet, I'd never tried it before.
I didn't get to see or hear about any chupacabras though :D

Yes, you have to avoid the tourist resorts here too if you want to see the real Tenerife and the probably unreal like this chupacabra story! :D
