i also heard that enlightened people don't feel as much physical pain because they aren't fully in their body. i wish i can remember where i read this.. but it kinda makes sense.

I haven't been in physical pain in so long......it just doesn't present itself in my daily life.

i think my root chakra is screwed up so i am not as grounded. i do not feel pain like i used to. it could be the other probelm that you are too grounded in materialism that you feel pain easily (like my dad i swear if you step on his toe its like he's dying!)

they feel pain allright,
but pain is not a problem.

http://www.chakraplein.nl/images/SR.jpg

the last months or years of his life ramana maharshi had a pretty painful cancer,
but he never complained about it.

when the doctors asked him if he had pain or wanted painkillers:
he said he didn't want any, because he's not in pain.

the truth is there was pain,
the nerves gives the impulse of pain to the brain.

but ramana maharshi was not in pain.
pain is a thing of the body/mind.

when you are enlightened you are aware that you are not the body and not the mind.
so pain is no longer a problem.

if you are not the body and the mind, then what are you?
it's not possible to understand it by hearing a description of it.
The only way to understand it is through investigation of your identity... that which you believe to be yourself.

one way to describe what you are is Love.
Love is the true Self :)

it doesn't care about pain or pleasure because it is free of that.
only the false self wants to avoid one and cannot ever have enough of the other.
only the false self is dependent of things and situations in order to be happy.

true Self is eternally happy :)

i used to think my root chakra was screwed up as well for various reasons.
the mind can see a problem anywhere, even where there are none :)
