Did anyone notice the markings/emblem on the stage floor of the CMT Music Awards last night? It looked like some sort of star. Is this symbolic that the same people who run the other music genre industries are running Nashville now? I mean, really, Kid Rock hosting the CMT awards?? Come ON!

Also, I noticed that when Toby Keith came out to sing American Ride he looked down at the floor and totally stuttered out the first few words of the song. He had a red bandanna around his wrist and looked really uncomfortable.

There were also several references to getting drunk and partying, not cool for country's conservative audience.

"Honky Tonkin'" -- Hank Williams, 1948
"Settin' the Woods on Fire" -- Hank Williams, 1952
"There Stands the Glass" -- Webb Pierce, 1953

Just the first couple that come to mind. Drinking and partying are a long-standing tradition in country music.
