Urantia Book. It is an amazing read if you have the "time".

Interesting indeed I read this before somewhere... how much do they charge for joining their religion? :P

I haven't taken the time to read all of the Urantia book, but from what I understand it is a "channeled" monologue, from some dubious sources. I find "channeling" dubious from the start. But reading through just some introductory paragraphs, it seems to be a re-hash of the same crap we get from the Bible. Here's an example, from "The Nature of God":
"The divine nature can also be better understood by man if he regards himself as a child of God and looks up to the Paradise Creator as a true spiritual Father.
The nature of God can be studied in a revelation of supreme ideas, the divine character can be envisaged as a portrayal of supernal ideals, but the most enlightening and spiritually edifying of all revelations of the divine nature is to be found in the comprehension of the religious life of Jesus of Nazareth, both before and after his attainment of full consciousness of divinity."
"'Touching the Infinite, we cannot find him out. The divine footsteps are not known.' 'His understanding is infinite and his greatness is unsearchable.' The blinding light of the Father's presence is such that to his lowly creatures he apparently "dwells in the thick darkness." Not only are his thoughts and plans unsearchable, but "he does great and marvelous things without number." "God is great; we comprehend him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out." "Will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven (universe) and the heaven of heavens (universe of universes) cannot contain him." "How unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out!"
Now, we could read into that another interpretation, but here we are again. Nothing that is purported to be THE TRUTH should be derived from implication. Say it straight the fuck out! Don't dick around! And also, we have the Father image — AGAIN — which bings to mind the Saturnian disciplinarian and Old-Testament bloodthirsty, jealous, and ANGRY God...not to mention regretful (I Sam, 16:35) and — lo, and behold — Jesus appears in all His Glory! Something smells fishy to me...

Can find out more about the Urantia book on 11:11 message boards & their various web sites through George Barnard. I'm a registered healer on this site...originally directed there some time ago after seeing 11:11 on digital clocks everywhere, was highly amusing at 1st but then got to the point it was so bad it was driving me nuts when it moved off digitals clocks to other areas, knew something was trying to get my attention & becoming more persistent. I didn't like anyone else's explanation for this phenomena altho each to their own. Highly recommend his Akashic construct techniques you'll find on his CD too...

i love it when people nay-say but they have nothing to affirm. i don't really have to take them seriously because all they are saying is 'this isn't right,' not 'this is wrong, but THIS is right.' after a while, i tear up their charactersheets and eat their pizza-

An exercise in mind control in my opinion, similar to A Course In Miracles but at a PhD level. Exciting and incredible read? YOU BET!!! With MUCH emphasis upon INCREDIBLE. I really lost my taste for "midwayer commissions", "lucifer rebellions", "mansion worlds", "Jerusem" and "Satania". I visited their headquarters in Chicago and it was just bizarre. It feels good to carry the book though. NOT the paperback version but the original hardcover. Luscious pages of Bible paper that had quite a weight to it. It's SO BIG that you can intimidate your friends by carrying it around publicly!!! Your erudition will know NO bounds once you really get into it!! You'll start to feel as if it's all being explained...it's all coming together now!!!

It is indeed a long, sometimes dry, read.
