I had a question and I wasn't sure where to post it, so I figured id post it here.

Why do you think people enjoy video games or being on the computer more than being in a forrest or outdoors?

Well for me, I spend alot of the time on the computer, because my 'outdoors' is a dump, and the nearest forest is miles away.

Perhaps the reason is our lack of integration with nature. Which could also be a lack of integration within ourselves. Which would also expand on a cultural level.

Because I live in the city.

And when I didn't live in the city, the town I came from had a good 9 months of winter, and I hate winter.

Sometimes I'd like to be on holiday somewhere scenic and tranquil but haven't the money. Weather in England generally crap too. Video games are like a holiday, an escape. You can go to beautiful places or unique places you can't go in real life and even be somebody completely different for a short time. It's pure escapism. Better than watching Eastenders in my opinion.

Hard to vote - it's a combination of all four, and they all seem to go hand in hand with each other.

Yes, I agree I think people enjoy videogames for a variety of reasons, one I would add to the list is because they work directly on the reptilian brain and people seem to like revelling in their base natures.

I would also say that people do not necessarily enjoy videogames for the reason of conditioning but in my opinion that is their true purpose.
