(Feeling silly today, forgive me for that!!!)
"a gaaaaaaay old time..."
& so concludes the introduction song to the old cartoon series "The Flinstones". The two main characters are just humble stonemasons, I think....(what DID Barney do!?!)
Fred and Barney also belonged to the sacred order of the Water Buffalo, with the secret Water Buffalo handshake, a Grand Poo-bah ( gotta' love the subtle anality, "poo", the Grand POO-bah, or perhaps, the BIG SHIT!!) men only weekends...you get the picture!! Gotta' love the subtlety of the two prononunced HORNS on their big, furry, Fez. And as if that wasn't enough, these two eventually make extra-terrestrial, or inter-dimensional contact, with a tiny spaceship flying entity known as "The Great Gazoo" (OZ...?)
And Barney, the Aryan of the pair, (before blond haired characters were portrayed as COMPLETE dolts, as they are now) gives birth to a little, blond-haired, blue-eyed miracle with superior strength!! BAM-BAM!!
These two eventually go on to market their own breakfast cereal, "Cocoa Pebbles". I remember seeing one box of Cocoa Pebbles which featured Barney drilling into an oversized cereal bowl, to get the "pebbles", with Fred looking on in dismay. The manufacturers were implying a potential paedophilia, menage a trois with little Pebbles!!!! Gotta' love the subtlety of Barney's "drill"... who wants to taste the "Pebbles". Coprophagia anyone?
