Yep, you heard. I've noticed a lot of subliminals in The Lion King, even though it's my favourite Disney film *chuckles nervously*

This one here, where Simba falls onto the pollen making it float up into the air, is a very popular one. Notice what it says there?

Coincidence? I think not O.o
However, some would argue that it says, "SFX".

Now, the ones that aren't so 'popular'. Check this out:

Meet Scar, the main villian of The Lion King. In this scene he argues with his brother, King Mufasa. Then as he does that sign there, he says sarcastically: "Oh, I shall practise my curtsy"

Now meet Scar's mate, Zira. She seems to have gone along with scar on the whole Devil worship thing:

in this scene, Zira is speaking to her adopted son, Kovu, about him becoming the king. She says, "Kovu, you brilliant child! I'm so proud of you. You have the same keniving mind that made Scar so..." *does devil sign* "...powerful."

Now meet Scar's barbaric henchman, the hyenas- Shenzi, Banzai and Ed. Here they are, but they seem to be hiding in a 'pyramid' of rock?

Here's another creepy one:

this is just before the dreadful stampede scene. It looks like a simple rock with a tree in the middle... or is it an eye?

Nazi subliminals
Believe it or not, Scar is actually based on Adolf Hitler! Look at these pics:

In the second one, it's obvious that the hyenas are goose-stepping like Nazis, uh-oh...
Plus in that first pic, Scar has a shadow behind him which resembles a dragon...
speaking of dragons, how about this for reptilianism?

Most of these caps were from Scar's song, Be Prepared!
Some of the lyrics are kinda scary, such as

"So prepare for the chance of a lifetime
be prepared for sensational news
The shining new era,
is tiptoeing nearer"

Very sneaky, Disney.
So some, or if not all, of you may never watch The Lion King the same way ever again!

Besides inspirations from William Shakespeare's Hamlet (1990/I), the story also has elements of the Osirian family myths of Ancient Egyptian mythology. In the Osirian myths, the king (Mufasa/Osiris) is killed by his jealous brother (Scar/Seth) and the rightful heir (Simba/Horus) is sent into exile as a boy. The murdered king visits and mentors his son in ghostly visits and when the heir comes of age, he returns to exact revenge on his father's murderer.

Naw, just keep it going. Maybe you can add something that hasn't been seen before. The 'SEX' subliminals in this film I've heard tonnes of times, but I never saw the hand signals, for instance.

Welcome to the forum :)

On the official DVD they say that it's not SEX, it's SFX, put in on the sly by the special effects team who apparently felt like giving themselves a quiet mention.

In the actual scene he isn't exactly thinking about sex so I very much doubt that this was the intention, if any.

Also some of the devil sign stuff I would put down to Disney simply trying to use the lions' paws as a way of expressing their thoughts, which is kind of hard without opposing thumbs. The first sign made by Scar is clearly an attempt to do a 'camp' hand with curled fingers, which fits his line and mood at the time "Oh! I shall have to practice my curtsey."

The second one by Zira in the later Lion King movie might have been a bit more Satanic. Certainly the mood in that scene is a lot different, with her talking about how Scar's evil made him powerful.
