Are our health authorities making us ill?
I personally think so, as our government, our official health agencies and doctors are forever pumping out health statements and advice in a manner that’s little more than negative affirmations (also known as “negative programming” or negative-reinforcement”).
For instance, how often have you heard statements like “high cholesterol leads to heart disease?” or “Smoking causes cancer”? ….or even broader statements like “1 out of every 3 people will develop diabetes”? Are these not negative affirmations that are setting people up for the very thing they’re supposed to prevent?
The worst example of this is when a cancer patient is told they only have 3-6months to live. Is this not as good as handing out a death sentence?
Bearing in mind that negative programming involves statements that are written or verbalized, which give us the thoughts we mull round in our subconscious – thoughts that set the basis for our ‘beliefs’ about reality - don’t you think our health authorities should be more responsible about the way they present health information, particularly in the media?
Aside from the fact that much of our ‘official’ health advice is just plain wrong (who remembers the “eating eggs causes high cholesterol” crap and the “margarine is healthier than butter” bollocks?), I believe doctors who repeat this negative (and just plain wrong) garbage over and over to their patients are doing a lot more harm than good, even if only due to the stress much of what they say causes their bewildered patients.
What do others think?

I think you are absolutely right, and also the mixed signals, one week one thing is bad and will kill you, the next it cures cancer and hemmoroids.
They make sure people have no real idea whats good for them or not, and that they dont stop to feel how it feels to eat something. Our bodies are the perfect guide to whats good and not if we listen honestly to it (the body not the brain that is).
Personally I go for the "as natural as possible" approach (can be harder than you think) and everything with moderation! And as you pointed out positive affirmations and bollocks to the scientists and their fantasies and chemicals!
And also, never ever eat light or fatfree stuff ,besides the chems they use, fat and sugar in moderation is all important for the body!

Thanks for your reply pollock.
As a follow on from what I was saying in my previous email, being that stress is the most usual reason people smoke http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/3083056.stm how can the following negative affirmations on cigarette packets be helpful to an already stressed smoker?

LOL I have great teeth, I've smoked for over 20 years, my mum never smoked and had false teeth long before my dad (a smoker).
There is nothing wrong with my lungs either (YET) But I had a full medical not long ago(icluding stethescope on chest) the doctor said I was above average health wise.
But my uncle died of lung cancer..he smoked maybe that was why, it's possible something else caused the cancer not the smoking.

The older I get the less I listen to their propaganda, because 'they' change their minds every few years anyway.
What I want to know is why does my doctor try and give me anti depressants every time I see him? I even went about a bad back once and he tried to get me to take them then, when its actually wear and tear on my discs that causes the pain. In the end I saw a chiropractor who helped me enormously. I thought it was just me, but he tries to give prescriptions for them to everyone who sees him, by all accounts. He must be getting some nice backhanders from the drug company. Some doctors make you think you're losing your marbles.

Ah doctors, I think JK Rowlings said it best when she pointed out in one of her Potter books that doctors are not healers they are closer to butchers.
The negativity is certainly very, very deliberate. Pharmaceutical companies basically own doctors and if you watch and listen to their commercials the subliminal message is always "sickness is something you want," and "being sick is inevitable."
Limelady I really enjoyed the alternative pics. And you are most certainly one fabulous chic, although, I reserve the cooperative rights to that title as well. ;)

If everythings illusion, then everything we put into our illusionary bodies is also illusion. Anything else we are told is true is only collective programming. Rather than believe what we have been told to believe, why not just change the illusion to what we want it to be? Isn't this the basis of quantum physics? I was told I had an allergy to dairy, but I like butter and cheese, so I programmed my body to believe dairy is good for me, and I don't get allergy symptoms anymore. I;m now re-programming my DNA to believe all food (even junk food) will do me nothing but good because I want to be able to eat anything and everything I want without feeling guilt. If its all just an illusion, then I am now an active part in creating my own illusion rather than be a victim of an illusion someone else has decided for me.

Rock on Garth- my sentiments exactly!! I think its ridiculous that we look to other people (Dr's etc) to tell us if we are in good health or whats going on inside our bodies- i know exactly whats going on with my body- its mine
so why ask someone else? Also- we are conditioned so heavily to depend on the opinions of people with letters after their names - its like when someone is told they have cancer- they automatically believe it because 'the doctor said so'!! so thats what they manifest! My grandad died of cancer a few years ago- he had a routine check-up (he was feeling fine) and was told he had cancer- he carried on as normal for a few weeks then the dr's told him he had 3months to live- from that moment on- he gave up- and died 6weeks later!! i believe he took the words of a dr too literally and created that reality for himself as he 'trusted' the dr's diagnosis- before he was told he only had 3months to live- he was fine! Belief is everythingin my opinion, if we believe what we have been conditioned to believe we will ultimately create that reality! Not me- I create my reality!!
Oh and the pharmaceutical companies are not in the wellness business or they'd go bust if they made everyone well!! I have had experience of administering medication and i seem to come up with the same problem- give someone a drug for one ailment and withing 24hrs the side affects create another ailment- requiring drugs to counteract the effects- western medicine is bollocks!! *pharmaceutical companys rub hands together*
