I went to see my favourite Irish troubadour Damien rice last night - his last show of this tour, he played for nearly 3 hours and really let it go - it was amazing...
Been to a lot of gigs in my life, played a load too in my old band - but this was incredible. One of a kind.
Since Lisa Hannigan the beautiful female singer he toured with left the band, and his regular drummer took a break i feared his show would lose a lot of the intimacy it had before

towards the end you will understand what i mean..pure magic
BUT, he replaced the void created by Lisa's departure with a bloody surge of energy I have not seen in a band or a singer for a very long time.
The highlight (not on youtube) was taking his acoustic guitar out to the edge of the stage and with no microphone (in an arena) and belting out Cannonball totally acoustic and it being so quiet you could hear a pindrop until the audience started singing along drowning him out - i've never seen anyone do that before and i saw people crying hehe. It's not often i take the time to tell people about a concert i had been to or whatever, but if anyone gets the chance to see him on his upcoming next tour - get a ticket. You won't be let down.
