whilst there are some tremendously intelligent and thought provoking threads on this site there are also absurdists ( purposeful or not i cant decide ) obvious disinformers and extreme idealists...
the best thing about the people on this site is their wish to challenge information and ideas which are just spoon fed to us for our " own good "...
if you dont ask questions or challenge ideas you never behave as more than a slave or mindless automaton...
however the biggest problem a weekend - after work - subversive encounters is hypocrisy...
its the old cliches that ring true - like the nuclear family with 2 cars and an energy guzzling home who " recycle " because they are green at heart...being green allows them to salve that conscience and do their bit whilst feeding the energy consumption monster more than its fair share...these people are messianic in their goodness and even buy organic vegatables and fair trade coffee before taking their gas guzzler out for a weekend spin or jetting off somewhere hot a few times a year...

conspiracy theorists have the same issues to contend with, they hate the police who are watching them all the time or hassling them at ban the bomb rallies but if the truly poor and unwashed venture into leafy suburbia on the prowl your basic left wing conspiracist is the first person on the phone to the cops demanding their middle class world of internet warrior rebellion is not upset unduly...

they rail against the government and its police state values denying them their freedom to leech off society and lord it over the masses when really they are annoyed people are more interested in the collapse of northern rock than they are in the star people of orion or alien hybrid experiments...

and thats the harsh reality of it a modern day conspiracy theorist needs an agenda rooted in pragmatism if they hope to achieve popularity and fame - al gore needs the environment to revive a career that fell apart and he has succesfully done it, the conspiracy theorist needs to offer the public more than buildings on the martian surface to make his point - he needs to relate these issues to our day to day lives...

they rail against bush and blair now brown
