You need to look into the cause of depression, tablets are not the answer.
I was mega depressed years ago my Dr put me on tablets i felt worse, so i stopped taking them, in the end i moved house and got a new job, now im a 100 times better.

David icke has spoken a lot about the drug industry.

It's a great forum, but it's very bitchy. It makes me laugh, especially when december was posting his filth and everyone was giving him abuse for his wretched views.
That photo by heretic (head up the arse) is a classic.:D:D

I think he was joking :)

I find these forums very addictive too, even when I'm not posting I have to read what others have written. I don't like it when people get nasty with each other though. It's not in the spirit of oneness.

Sod the housework, it only gets dirty again anyway.

Nobody here really seems to know much about what you're talking about. I mean, if you were "depressed" and then got a new job or new whatever, and suddenly started feeling better, then you weren't really that depressed. You just had a situational problem that needed solving. And I'm not referring to you, gb. I've had problems with severe depression since I was a kid. It's something that happens even if everything in your life is going well. What's going around you doesn't seem to matter at all, sometimes to the point that you can't even concentrate or notice anything outside of you, bad or good.

The only advice I can give is to try several things and do what works for you, regardless of what others have to say about it. The same things don't work for everybody. If anti-depressants work for you, then use them. Give them a certain amount of time to start working and be consistent with taking them. If they aren't working, then stop taking them; regardless of what your doctor might say. (A doctor who won't listen to their patient isn't a doctor worth seeing.)

Personally, I never had much success with anti-depressants, and I've tried five different kinds. The best was probably either Zoloft or Effexor, but it wasn't that much of an improvement. The absolute worst were Prozac and Paxil.

The only herb I've tried which had any effect on me was Kava, and that's been taken off the market due to its links with liver toxicity.

Cognitive therapy (where you sit around and analyse your childhood and talk about problems of the present and so on) was pretty useless for me, since I had already spent plenty of time analysing myself, so I learned nothing new. Behavioral therapy was much more effective, but it requires a lot more effort and time as well. Similar to this would be meditation/yoga....it really teaches you to take more control of your mind, and therefore, your mood. I know it's a new age cliche, but I've found its techniques to be the most valuable of all else I've tried. Like behavioral therapy, this also takes a lot of effort and will to practice and I'm far from mastering it.

I've also found very strenuous exercise to be very effective, though you've already said that that doesn't work for you, so I dunno. Simple aerobics never did anything for me. It's a serious muscular workout which does, though I have no idea why.

The only other suggestion I can think of is anything which can boost your energy levels, EXCEPT sugar, which actually has the opposite effect. I guess things such as natural sugars, carbohydrates (not white starch), b-vitamins, ginseng, etc....

And despite everything you may or may not have heard, alcohol and weed SUCK for depression. They're only uplifting for people who don't have this problem.

No, that really isn't what "getting off" means. Though that can be a method of "getting off".

The time we invest in entertaining ourself, we are not waking up other people or doing other harm to the system.

Well i certainly dont use the "whole internet" , just the informative bits... You cant enjoy life without a bit of entertaining .. thats just the way it is.. How do you think people that are fighting in military get by everyday, they have to maintain a certain sense of humor, and a hope for better.. The more you spend waking others up, and doing harm to the system, the more the system will consume you..
