I had a phone call yesterday from a guy claiming he was from British Gas. He went on to tell me how Sky & British Gas had merged and as one of their customers (British Gas) they could provide me with cheap TV and Broadband.
To cut a long story short, later in the conversation (when I asked why there was nothing on the BG website about this) he let slip that he was infact working for Sky and based in their call centre.
It would appear after a little investigation that Sky and British Gas have swapped their customer databases and are each cold calling the others customers posing as BG if your an existing customer and vice versa.
When I told him that I already had Sky TV because I brought a box & dish from a boot sale and set it up myself. That I know how to update the software myself so it works correctly and I was only interested in the free-to-air Zone channels, he really wasn't impressed.
So if your a Sky Customer and you get a call from them offering you cheap gas and electric you'll know it's really British Gas.
And if your a British Gas customer and get a call from them offering you cheap TV and Broadband you'll know it's really Sky.
If you get a call have some fun with them, cos they seem to think their customers are thick shits :rolleyes:
