Its a fascinating story, no one knows how the guy built it... The most fascinating story I've heard is that he sang the stones to where they are. Like, meaning he used frequency manipulation (through singing) to move them.

Kensington Runestone

Does this stone found in my home state predate Columbus's discovery of America? I have a feeling the Vikings would say "yes".

It all started in 1898 when the ten year old son of Olof Ohman, who was farming two and half miles northeast of Kensington, found strange markings on a slab of rock that had just been pried out of the ground. The son, Edward, called his father's attention to the stone.

The father, who had been clearing trees and rocks from a level space on top of a hill 40 feet above the surrounding low land, saved the stone, and later showed it to prominent citizens in Kensington. No one was able to completely decipher the stone, until nine years later when Hjalmer R. Holand, a University of Wisconsin graduate student with a major in history, heard of the stone on a trip to Kensington.

Mr. Holand translated the stone and found it to read,"8 Goths and 22 Norweigans on exploration journey from Vinland over the west. We camp by 2 skerries one day-journey from this stone. We were and fished one day. After we came home, 10 men red with blood and tourtured. Hail Virgin Mary, save from evil. Have 10 men by the sea to look after our ship, 14 day -journeys from this island year 1362."

The translation of this stone sparked an international search to find out if it could possibly be genuine. The Minnesota Historical society appointed five scholars to investigate, and after a year and half of work reported the stone genuine.

The Kensington Runestone is 31 inches high, 16 inches wide, six inches thick and weighs 202 pounds.

This is how the expedition, 130 years before Columbus started:

Navigator for the crews was Nicolas of Lynn, an English astronomer who was known throughout Europe. He brought the small ships safely to Iceland, Greenland, Rhode Island and Hudson Bay. While the main party went south looking for a safer way back to New England than the bitter cold northern route, he mapped the whole of Hudson Bay and discovered, for the first time in history, the magnetic North Pole.

The sons of Columbus said the discovery of islands in the west by Lynn, was one of the factors which encouraged his father to try the southern route to America. A map by John Ruysch, dated 1508, refers to the discovery of the magnetic North Pole as an accomplished fact. In 1537 a map was published of Hudson Bay showing the discoveries of Lynn, which included such details as spring thaws which flooded to the north.

The American evidence is equally extensive.

A series of 15 campsites have been found, running from Hudson Bay to Sauk Centre, Minnesota. The Vikings, as is still the case in Norway, cut triangular holes in convenient rock ledges to which to fasten anchor pins for their boats.

Because the Indians or early settlers to Minnesota did not use such type of holes, these mooring holes are distinctive and have not been molested. They are so old, the rain and sand have worn the tiny chisel marks on their inner surfaces smooth. Several have been found at projected intermediate places along the route.

There are a number of actual 1362 period Norse instruments, which have been taken to Europe and found to be identical with similar instruments in the Nordic museum near Stockholm and other museums.

These instruments have been found in no other place in the North American continent showing they could not have been brought to this country by settlers.

These instruments include a firesteel for making fires; a ceremonial halbred signifying a royal expedition; a heavy battle axe with a 16 inch cutting edge; a light battle axe, used for fighting men in armoured suits; a spear head; a Nordic sword, and other relics which include mooring stone pins.

The Verendrye Runestone was found in 1783 near Minot, North Dakota. It was fitted into a pillar, had runic markings on both sides and was about 5 inches wide and 13 inches long. Indians who were asked about the stone said it had been part of the pillar since time immemorial.

Verendrye, a French explorer, took the stone to eastern Canada, where it was studied by Jesuit priests, and then he took it to France where it became lost. The Minnesota Historical Society has offered a $1,000.00 reward for its rediscovery.

Mr Holand says it may well have been found in Mandan territory and that it may carry an additional message from the Vikings who lived out their lives with those Indians.

There are blue-eyed Mandan Indians who knew about Christianity before the first settlers arrived, and who lived in square medieval-Norwegian design buildings. It is believed that the main party which went south from Hudson Bay had a special religious service at Sauk Centre at a huge stone alter there and then turned back north to rejoin their comrades.

However, due to accident, fire, error in judgment, or unexpected severe fall headwinds, they were unable to return in time to go with Lynn on his return back to Europe. So, they cast their lot with the Mandan Indians, widely known for their noble mode of life.

All of these are fascinating 'evidence'. Extra terrestrials do exist and many are in our skies now, at a dimensional frequency that is invisible within 3D reality. We, you, us are related to them. The benevolent are aiding in the ascension of Earth and human kind. The Museum of Natural History in London displays an early Paleolithic skull, dated at 38,000 years old, and excavated in 1921 in modern Zambia. On the left side of the skull is a perfectly round hole nearly a third of an inch in diameter. Curiously, there are no radial split-lines around the hole or other marks that should have been left by a cold weapon, such as an arrow or spear. Opposite the hole, the cranium is shattered, and reconstruction of the fragments show the skull was blown from the inside out, as from a rifle shot. In fact, any slower a projectile would have produced neither the neat hole nor the shattering effect.

Forensic experts who have examined the skull agree the cranial damage could not have been caused by anything but a high-speed projectile, purposely fired at the prehistoric victim, with intent to kill.



If such a weapon was indeed fired at the man, then one of two conclusions can be made: Either the specimen is not as old as it is claimed to be, and was shot by a European in recent centuries, or the remains are as old as claimed, and the marksman was ancient too. In view of the fact that the Paleolithic skull was excavated from a depth of 60 feet, mostly of lead rock, the second conclusion is more plausible.

But who possessed gunpowder 38,000 years ago? Certainly not Stone Age man himself. Another race must have existed, one far more advanced and civilized, yet contemporary.



The question is, where did that rifle-toting marksman call home?

I have run across some very interesting anomalies in lakes throughout the Andes Mountains in Peru.

The images come from Google Earth and can be seen by anyone using this wonderful application. I came across these "Unidentified Underwater Anomalies - UWA's" while researching various places in the mountain region of Peru.

As you probably know, there are quite a number of ancient ruins such as Machu Picchu that have been inhabited by the Inca and civilizations much older than the Inca. The photo album "Unidentified Underwater Anomalies" located far below currently has sixteen photos showing these UWA's near Lake Titicaca.

The other location which I found UWA's is in the northern central Andes about 200 miles north-east of Lima.

What I found will make you wonder just what the heck is going on with these images. Are they for real? What is it that we are actually looking at here. Some of these images almost look like computer boards. Some look like buildings with streets, houses and corridors.

One of the images looks as though the walls have crumbled in sections and even shows a section that is dismembered and has moved several feet from its original location.

I have yet to determine what I'm seeing in Google Earth and would like to hear what you think these anomalies might be.

This article takes a quick look at a controversial site in Illinois called Burrows Cave. In 1982 a large quantity of epigraphic material was been found there by it’s discoverer, a gentleman by the name of Russell Burrows. What is claimed by Burrows certainly doesn’t seem to be readily digestible by mainstream archeologists, but that of course is neither here nor there.



It has been said that some of the artifacts found are somewhat reminiscent of the Davenport, Iowa, and Wilmington, Ohio, tablets, both of which are of doubtful authenticity. Feel free to read the article below, take a look at the images and draw your own conclusions.

In Russell Burrows own words this is is account of how he discovered the cave having stopped to eat his lunch on a bluff that overlooks a valley. He stood up and stepped on the edge of a flat, round rock.



His weight on the side of this rock flipped it as if on a pivot and he fell into a pit below the rock....

"I found myself falling into a pit which had been secreted beneath a large oval stone which, as I later discovered, was fitted into the pit opening and designed to flip or turn over when stepped on. The unfortunate victim would fall to the bottom of the pit, the stone would swing back in place and the victim would be trapped. I was fortunate: When I stepped on that stone, I was in the act of turning, and the stone, instead of flipping over, slid off to one side and left the pit open.

I do not actually remember hitting bottom; my next recollection is of hanging on to the lip of the pit by my elbows, in great alarm. I admit that I have a great fear of holes that I’m not ready for, because of snakes. But I found none. When I freed myself and regained my composure, I began to examine the pit and have a look at what was to be the beginning of the greatest adventure of my life... I sat down to calm my nerves, catch my breath and give the situation some thought."

He found himself in a chamber, with a huge face on one wall, and continues....

"I did not have to be a genius to figure out that I had stumbled into something that just should not be in Illinois. I have hunted for and found many artifacts of the American Indians and there are many of their sites in my part of the state, but I knew then that this was not American Indian. The face I had been nose to nose with was different from anything I had ever seen. The nose was flat, the eyes were wide-set, and the lips were thick.

Then, of course, there were all those strange symbols to consider. I had crawled under a ledge and was looking for petroglyphs such as I had seen in the pit. I had searched all the walls of the entire length of the valley, and while I had seen a few scratchings, I was not all that excited about what I had seen so far. Finally, I gave up on this last place, and decided to quit. In disgust, I tossed my small rock pick against the inside wall of the overhang.



The rock gave out a distinctly unnatural sound: a hollow ring, not what I’d expect from solid rock... As it was now clear that a cave was on the other side... My first entrance was through this portal and into a tunnel-like passage which has a drop-off of about three feet just inside of the portal. I was met with a strong, musty odor. Not of decay, but musty.

As I moved my head and light around, I saw a full human skeleton reposing on a large block of stone. It scared the hell out of me! Then I began to see other things lying there with those bones. I saw ax heads, spear points, and something else—metal! The skeleton was laid out upon a solid block large enough to hold not only the remains but artifacts as well.



The artifacts include ax heads of marble and other stone material, an ax head of what appears to be bronze, a short sword of what appears to be bronze, and other artifacts which might be considered personal weapons. There were also a set of three bronze spears, the longest being about six feet long and the shortest about three feet... The skeletal remains bear several fine artifacts such as armbands, headbands and other such items, all of gold. "

The cave is said to lie somewhere along the Skillet Fork of the Little Wabash River in southeastern Illinois. It supposedly contains 13 elaborately ornamented burial crypts. It is unclear and a matter of controversy who, besides Burrows, has actually been inside the cave . What is known is that Burrows has produced hundreds, if not thousands, of curiously carved stones that he says came from this cave. And some of the artifacts allegedly were not of stone, but of gold.



It is claimed that Burrows sold off enough artifacts to unknown buyers that he was able to place $7 million in Swiss numbered bank accounts. According to Swiss journalist Luc Buergin, this money derives from the illegal sale of gold artifacts from the North American burial site.



Other sources claim that Burrows melted down all the gold and sold it as ingots. Still others question whether there ever was any gold in the first place.

A bizarre collection of artifacts was found in a remote cave system in the American State of Illinois. The cavers who made the discovery encountered a derisive response from the first academic experts they approached, experiencing a lot of difficulty finding necessary specialists to help them document and identify the artifacts.



There were problems of site security, disappearing artifacts, as well as people bending data to suit their personal agendas. As the site researcher Fred Rydholm remarks: "For this kind of research you have to be thick-skinned, brave or crazy!" It’s one thing finding these things, its quite another to explain them.

In the United States the saga of "Burrows Cave" has been going on for many years. Over three thousand rock fragments, engraved with a variety of ancient drawings, hieroglyphs and script, were presented to the world by Russell Burrows in 1982, who discovered them in a cave system in Southern Illinois. The story of the cave and its contents is so strange, that it’s little wonder it has met strong skepticism.



Recently deciphered for the first time, the stone tablets tell such a wild tale that it will require quite a turn around to accepted history. I was stunned into disbelief when I first laid eyes on the Burrows Cave evidence.



This is no straight forward set of hieroglyphs but, an inexplicable display of several cultures, a huge library preserved on stone tablets, collected together and sealed in a cave sometime around the first millennium.

The first photographs of the artifacts were forwarded to me by Filip Coppens, who writes about world mysteries in Belgium.



He had heard about my investigation of the anomalies surrounding the presumed hoax of Egyptian hieroglyphs in the NSW Hunter Valley. He was struck by certain odd similarities between the two finds and sent pictures of the carvings which depicted a wolf-headed god, similar to an "Anubis" carving photographed in the Hunter Valley.

Certainly, the Burrows Cave boasts a few forms of wolf and jackal-headed deities, from the classical Anubis to half human versions. One of the Burrows Cave examples is executed in bas-relief, with accompanying hieroglyphs, embossed on a gold plate. However, there is much more than wolf-headed deities, the carved tablets display an extraordinary cultural array. There is a hodgepodge mixture of images and cultural influences which make the artifacts very hard to explain. Even worse, some of the carvings seem amateurish or dimly remembered copies of ancient Greek and Mesopotamian sources.

Whereas, others involve a high level of skill and obvious knowledge of ancient cosmology. One of the images depicts a "wolfish" deity in priestly regalia, wearing a bishop-style hat decorated with a solar emblem. The deity has been identified as the god "So-Bek-Ra", who is so pictured on a temple by the Nile. The figure stands, as the lone representative of an ancient priesthood, against an advancing enemy army.



There are also many carved heads, mostly warrior profiles, wearing both Greek, Roman and Egyptian headgear.

Curiously, there are even images of ancient Amer-Indians wearing feathers and facial designs, some showing clear Meso-American style head-dress. Records of ancient travellers? Amongst them are many ancient mystical and sacred designs, as well as maps, pictures of ships and non-indigenous animals.



Astonishingly, one of the carvings portrays the cloven-hooved god Pan, holding his pipes and consorting with a nymph. Another stone (as well as an ancient metal coin) excavated from the cave carry the bold image of an elephant underlined with Hebrew characters.

Oddly, an artifact inscribed in exactly the same way was found on a pyramid-shaped stone in Ecuador some years earlier. Some of the carvings are meticulously executed in full bas-relief, some completely carved into the shapes of animals and deities, while other tablets were etched to render the designs.



Even a small collection of solid gold artifacts and coins have been excavated. More than just pictures, there are numerous tablets with coherent linear script carved on them. Examples and influences appear to range from Hebrew and Sumerian to Roman, Greek and Egyptian.

In my correspondence with Fred Rydholm, the best theory I could offer, was to speculate about a colony of resourceful pirates, who in some distant time, raided and collected the strange quasi-cultural cache of artifacts for themselves.



Together with an associate Dr James Scherz, who helped in the study and documentation of the artifacts, Fred Rydholm found correlations between symbols on the Burrows Cave coins and coins produced by dynasties along the "Silk Road" between China and Rome, the most predominant being "Kushana" and "Satavahana" symbols.



(NOTE: The Kushanas once controlled a trade dynasty along the Silk Roads, uniting various ancient people’s in the days of the Romans. They disintegrated with the collapse of the Western part of the Roman Empire about AD 300. The Satavahana’s were a seafaring people who lived on the coast of the Indian Ocean and had large ships represented on their coins before they collapsed around 210-230 AD. This suggests the likely time period of early in the first millennium around or after 200 AD.)



Finally, Fred Rydholm was able to report a significant breakthrough with two young Florida researchers, Paul Schaffranke and Brian Hubbard, who were successful in deciphering some of the inscriptions. Schaffranke and Hubbard recognized them as being one of several ancient Etruscan alphabets which could be translated into "street Latin", as used around the time of Christ.

The two Florida men were able to translate stone tablets from the Burrows Cave that the great epigrapher, Dr. Barry Fell and others, had insisted were gibberish and could not be translated. Mixed in amongst the Etruscan script there is also the added mystery of Hebrew and Egyptian stone tablets. These were also recently identified and are being translated by Dr. Arnold Murray of Arkansas and, Zena Halpern, a Hebrew scholar from New York. The Egyptian material is still being assessed. Over half a dozen professional archeologists and linguists have now examined the collection and have been definite in their support of the artifacts’ authenticity.

At last contact, the Burrow’s team had dug out and classified an astonishing four thousand stone tablets. Another breakthrough came, when a retired engineer Bill Kreisle, found several of the stones recorded accurate maps of the Mississippi River system as it appeared 2000 years ago. Another map stone shows a river on the Iberian Peninsula (Spain) with the ancient city of Cadiz near its mouth. But, most astonishing of all, they have reported the discovery of several stone crypts, excavated from limestone deep in the cave system, containing a number of interred skeletons with jewellery, artifacts and statuary.

The mystery people who left the cache of records are, apparently, themselves, buried there. The biggest continuing mystery of the discovery is, WHO carved all these message tablets and from whence came this hidden dynasty of bodies? Fred Rydholm, who works with and writes, for the retiring Col. Burrows, reports in his recent correspondence:

"Although I speak with caution, as it is still too early to say for sure, there are many indications that the bodies found in the crypts are the leaders of a colony of refugees from Ptolemaic Egypt, including a Jewish contingent from the Roman controlled Kingdom of Mauritania."

Dr Joseph Mahan, founder and longtime president of the Institute for the Study of American Cultures (ISAC), has examined the evidence from the new translations and presents this interesting scenario:

"They were secretly sent to America in ships provided by the Mauritanian King Juba the Second and his wife Cleopatra Selene, daughter of Cleopatra and Marc Anthony. Included among the refugees were the Queen’s two brothers, who disappeared from Rome (and recorded history) in 17 AD, Ptolemy Philadelphus and Alexander Helios."

The graves of these people have been the object of a comprehensive historical search for the past two thousand years. We appear to have an advanced and well funded group of priest/scholars who, with the ex-Royal families, escaped the Roman Christianization of Egypt and set off into the unknown somewhere around 200-300 AD. The engraved maps and their collected storehouse of knowledge, shows a deliberate transplanting of culture, perhaps to escape the religious persecution of the Roman Invasion of Egypt and establish a remote colony which could preserve the ancient records.

Indeed, Dr Joseph Mahan, an archeological anthropologist who made a close study of the cave artifacts, reveals a detailed cosmology and religious lore from the cave material which is remarkably similar to that which survived amongst the Indian tribes of the area. The area of Southern Illinois and Indiana, where Russell Burrows stumbled into the limestone cave system, is richly endowed with the scattered evidence of several different early cultures which archeologists know too little about.

There are log tombs, skeletons and artifacts from the Adena culture, which is believed to have developed around 500 BC and to have died out by 200 AD. There was the Hopewell culture, 100 BC to 350 AD.



A mysterious culture concentrated along the Mississippi, known as the "Mississippian", crystallized around 800 AD, and was thought to still be in existence when the Spaniards arrived. Researcher, Joseph Mahan, points out, that archeologists have collected evidence for fifty years of an elaborate and uniform Earth/Sun religion, associated with the building of flat top temple mounds, which spread out from the Mississippi in the later part of the first millennium.

These pyramid-like mounds, which carried a permanent fire at the top, contained a variety of art, impressed on copper and stone, depicting animal-headed deities, crosses, swastikas, and people in ceremonial dress performing rituals.



Examples of these mound sites are spread from Oklahoma, to Illinois, Alabama and Georgia.

6. WHO SHOT THE NEANDERTHAL MAN?

The Museum of Natural History in London displays an early Paleolithic skull, dated at 38,000 years old, and excavated in 1921 in modern Zambia. On the left side of the skull is a perfectly round hole nearly a third of an inch in diameter. Curiously, there are no radial split-lines around the hole or other marks that should have been left by a cold weapon, such as an arrow or spear. Opposite the hole, the cranium is shattered, and reconstruction of the fragments show the skull was blown from the inside out, as from a rifle shot. In fact, any slower a projectile would have produced neither the neat hole nor the shattering effect.

Forensic experts who have examined the skull agree the cranial damage could not have been caused by anything but a high-speed projectile, purposely fired at the prehistoric victim, with intent to kill.

If such a weapon was indeed fired at the man, then one of two conclusions can be made: Either the specimen is not as old as it is claimed to be, and was shot by a European in recent centuries, or the remains are as old as claimed, and the marksman was ancient too. In view of the fact that the Paleolithic skull was excavated from a depth of 60 feet, mostly of lead rock, the second conclusion is more plausible.

Anything is possible, Phildee, but I wonder as old as the skull is would it have held up so well if shot so recently?

Since there are no definitive answers, I postulate:

Us defending ourselves. Yes, us. Just because backward time travel is as ludicrously an unproveable theory as any other out there may simply indicate we just haven't figured it out-------yet. We may not as of yet, and for a long while to come, figure out the correct stone to turn over for such a discovery.

As far as the absence of slug evidence is concerned (I assume as it wasn't mentioned), who's to say he didn't get shot and stumble on for a while before falling. Many animals do when shot during a hunt. People have too, head shots or otherwise. Remember the story of that guy who was shot in the head with a nail gun? Or the guy who was drilled in the head with an industrial drill at work and STILL had the presence of mind to set the tool to reverse and backed the bit out?

Dino-Era Fish Head Found in Garden?

July 29, 2008—It seems there might really be something fishy about the seaside stone pictured above, which until recently decorated an ornamental pond in southern England.

According to local experts, the rock's cod-like expression once belonged to a fish that swam in tropical seas about 80 million years ago.

Maidstone resident Peter Parvin found the odd stone on a British beach 15 years ago during a family vacation. The rock had been sitting in his garden until last week, when staff members at the local museum were alerted to its presence.

"There's no doubt it's a fossil," said Ed Jarzembowski, keeper of natural history at the Maidstone Museum. Jarzembowski, who was the first to examine the stone, said that the type of fish the fossil represents isn't yet known.

But dating the fish head was more straightforward, he said, because it is encased in flint. This type of hard, silica-rich rock is typically found within softer chalk sediments laid down during the Cretaceous period 145 to 65 million years ago, when warm, shallow seas covered the region. Radioactive traces in flint can provide scientists with an accurate age.

Flint fish fossils are extremely rare, said Jarzembowski, who added that he knows of only one other example from Britain. Experts hope that scans of the stone will reveal the ancient fish's internal structure.

This one to me looks like a frog cause we had an old weird ornament that used to sit in front of the electric fireplace when I was a very young kid and it was identical to this. You would fill it will water and it would stop the air getting to dry as it would evaporate from the heat of the electric fire.

The Falicon pyramid is a monument located at a rural site near the town of Falicon, on the French Riviera, near Nice. It is constructed above a karstic cave known as the Cave of the Bats (Occitan: Bauma des Ratapignata) and is one of the few pyramids in Europe. The pyramid is constructed of small irregularly-shaped stones, possesses a fairly acute angle of inclination, and is in a partly ruined condition. While most of its upper section is missing, the lower section is reasonably well-preserved.

The pyramid's purpose and origins are unknown, although it has been suggested that it may have been constructed by Roman legionaries involved in Egyptian cult practices. But more recent research has shown that the pyramid has actually been built between 1803 and 1812.

The number of stairs leading into the cave below the pyramid also supposedly corresponds to the 7-level initiation rituals of the cult of Mithras - an eastern religion that was popular with members of the Roman Army during the later Empire.

Ancient pyramids found in Ukraine

Gigantic pyramids, very similar to Egyptian ones, have recently been discovered in Luganshchina. Scientists conclude that five thousand years ago, a highly developed civilization lived on the territory of modern Ukraine.

This unusually important find was noticed just two years ago by school-children from an archeology camp. So far, only the top sections of the huge constructions have been uncovered and scientists say that it will take a whole decade to fully clean the soil off the pyramids. In connection with this, under the authority of the Department of Tourism and Protection of Cultural Heritage of the Luganskaya regional administration, a hotel will be built next to the pyramids and the excavation site will become an open air museum.

There is no gold or any kind of treasure in the pyramids; therefore the archeologists are not afraid of vandals. However, the pyramids themselves are extremely valuable, as scientists believe that a detailed investigation into these constructions may radically change our historical understanding of ancient Europe.

Archaeologists in Ukraine have unearthed the remains of an ancient pyramidal structure that pre-dates those in Egypt by at least 300 years. The stone foundations of the structure, which probably resembled Aztec and Mayan ziggurats in South America, were discovered near the eastern city of Lugansk.

It is thought they were laid about five millennia ago during the early Bronze Age by animists who worshipped a sun god. The "pyramid" is in fact a complex of temples and sacrificial altars topping a sculpted hillside with steps on its sides.

Viktor Klochko, head of the excavation, said the discovery was of international significance. "This is the first monument of its age and kind found in eastern Europe," he told the Guardian. "It changes our whole conception of the social structure and the level of development of the cattle breeders and farmers who were the direct ancestors of most European peoples."

There are about 100 pyramids in Egypt, and the remains of Mesopotamian pyramids are preserved in Iraq and Iran. Ziggurats are also found in Mexico, and the Nubians built pyramids as burial sites for monarchs in the Nile valley. But pyramid structures are rare in Europe. One of the few is a Roman-era pyramid near Nice, France, that may have built by legionnaires involved in an Egyptian cult.

Although graves have been found at the Lugansk site, archaeologists think it was used for sacrifice by burning, rather than as a burial ground. "People lived in the surrounding valleys and climbed up it to carry out their ceremonies," said Mr Klochko. "They had a pagan cult that bowed down to the sun, as did the ancestors of the Slavs."

Remains of sacrifice victims, ashes and ceramics have been found at the site, but no jewellery or treasure. The three-quarters of a square mile complex, which was an estimated 60 metres (192ft) high, was probably used for about 2,000 years.

"What surprised me most is the scale of this enormous complex," Stanislav Mogilny, a student working on the excavation, told Russian television. It's just incredible - a titanic feat."

A strange petroglyph in the Talabre ravine, dating back to the prehistory of the Atacama region, has stirred curiosity due to the presence of a strange, oval-headed being with large eyes and hands. Many have associated this image with a deity or extraterrestrial.

Petroglyphs are etched upon surface rocks worn away by time, and are associated to village centers near burial grounds or “gentilares”, as well as areas of worship in specific geographic areas in the vicinity of prehistoric trails, a typical characteristic of inter-regional traffic.

Sotero Armenya, president of the community of Talabre, has stated that this enigmatic petroglyph has drawn the attention of tourists and locals alike.

The official explained that it is an original item. “While we do not know what it corresponds to, the only problem is that its structure is being affected by the conditions proper to the climate and geography.”

Dagoberto Peña, a professor of Ecotourism at the Andres Bello University, a mountaneer who has even ascended Mt. Everest, stated that this particular image was found two years ago. It was photographed as evidence, and [the image] is accompanied by camelid patterns.

Old African Carving

I purchased this carving at an Antique Store in Virginia. I was told it was part of a very old collection of African Carvings and Tribal Art from Germany that a man in Virginia had inherited after his mother had died and was selling some off as he could not keep them all. The figure is approximately 17 inches tall. I would love to know more about this work of art and why they carved the eyes to wrap around the head similar to a alien being. Could they have had contact with them?

Several years ago I made a mug of coffee, put it on the coffee table but didn't drink it because I fell asleep on the settee. When I woke up I said to myself, "damn, my coffee's gone cold!" but before I could warm it up in the microwave... the mug disappeared!

Honest, while I was looking at it, it went like crazy paving and faded away! I couldn't believe it but I never did find that mug (or the coffee in it) and I was living alone and both doors were locked when it happened. I couldn't stop thinking about it. For months I looked for it because it was doing my head in. Things can't just disappear I was thinking to myself - or can they?

A possible answer came about two years ago. My toilet cistern was broke and the workmen replaced it but for some reason they put the old badge on it. It was a year later that it became obvious that the reason they put the old badge on the new cistern, was because they had lost the new one. One day, a year later, I went to the bathroom and I heard something drop on the floor, as though it fell off the ceiling. It was the new badge.

So what have these strange experiences got to do with the subject of this thread? I'm not denying that the ancient world could have had advanced technology but is it possible that objects can jump back and forth in time?

The Voynich Manuscript is considered to be 'The Most Mysterious Manuscript in the World'. To this day this medieval artifact resists all efforts at translation.
It is either an ingenious hoax or an unbreakable cipher.

The manuscript is named after its discoverer, the American antique book dealer and collector, Wilfrid M. Voynich, who discovered it in 1912, amongst a collection of ancient manuscripts kept in villa Mondragone in Frascati, near Rome, which had been by then turned into a Jesuit College (closed in 1953).

There is no other example of the language in which the manual is written.
It is an alphabetic script, but of an alphabet variously reckoned to have from nineteen to twenty-eight letters, none of which bear any relationship to any English or European letter system. The text has no apparent corrections. There is evidence for two different "languages" (investigated by Currier and D'Imperio) and more than one scribe, probably indicating an ambiguous coding scheme. Apparently, Voynich wanted to have the mysterious manuscript deciphered and provided photographic copies to a number of experts. However, despite the efforts of many well known cryptologists and scholars, the book remains unread. There are some claims of decipherment, but to date, none of these can be substantiated with a complete translation.

For some reason this one really freaked me out. Out of all the replies. It gave me the chills. The picture with the people in the green pool...reminded me of the movie Soylent Green. It looks like they are being mixed with plants and then the life is sucked out of them to feed something else. Or change their dna or something. It looks like a scientific experiment book. The disc of Phaistos is the most important example of hieroglyphic inscription from Crete and was discovered in 1903 in a small room near the depositories of the "archive chamber", in the north - east apartments of the palace, together with a Linear A tablet and pottery dated to the beginning of the Neo-palatial period (1700- 1600 B.C.).

The exact location of Phaistos was first determined in the middle of the 19th century by the British admiral Spratt, while the archaeological investigation of the palace started in 1884 by the Italians F. Halbherr and A. Taramelli.

After the declaration of the independent Cretan State in 1898, excavations were carried out by F. Halbherr and L. Pernier in 1900-1904 and later, in 1950-1971, by Doro Levi, under the auspices of the Italian Archaeological School at Athens.

Prehistoric UFO and ET images found in remote cave in India

A group of anthropologists working with hill tribes in a remote area of India have made a startling discovery: Intricate prehistoric cave paintings depicting aliens and UFO type craft (see photo above).

The images were found in the Hoshangabad district of the state of Madhya Pradesh only 70 kilometers from the local administrative centre of Raisen. The caves are hidden deep within dense jungle.

A clear image of what might be an alien or ET in a space suit can be seen in one cave painting along with a classical flying saucer shaped UFO that appears to be either beaming something down or beaming something up, in what might be an ancient UFO abduction scenario. A force-field or trail of some sort is seen at the rear of the UFO.

Also visible is another object that might depict a wormhole, explaining how aliens were able to reach Earth. This image may lead UFO enthusiasts to conclude that the images might have been drawn with the involvement of aliens themselves.

Local Archaeologist, Mr Wassim Khan, has personally seen the images. He claims that the objects and creatures seen in them are totally anomalous and out of character when compared to other, already discovered, examples of prehistoric cave art depicting ancient life in the area. As such he believes that they might suggest beings from other planets have been interacting with humans since prehistoric times: Adding weight to the 'ancient astronaut theory' which postulates that human civilization was established with the assistance of benevolent space-faring aliens.

Mysterious Stone Spheres in Costa Rica Investigated

ScienceDaily (Mar. 23, 2010) — The ancient stone spheres of Costa Rica were made world-famous by the opening sequence of "Raiders of the Lost Ark," when a mockup of one of the mysterious relics nearly crushed Indiana Jones.

So perhaps John Hoopes is the closest thing at the University of Kansas to the movie action hero.

Hoopes, associate professor of anthropology and director of the Global Indigenous Nations Studies Program, recently returned from a trip to Costa Rica where he and colleagues evaluated the stone balls for UNESCO, the United Nations cultural organization that might grant the spheres World Heritage Status.

His report will help determine if sites linked to the massive orbs will be designated for preservation and promotion because of their "outstanding value to humanity."

Hoopes, who researches ancient cultures of Central and South America, is one of the world's foremost experts on the Costa Rican spheres. He explained that although the stone spheres are very old, international interest in them is still growing.

"The earliest reports of the stones come from the late 19th century, but they weren't really reported scientifically until the 1930s -- so they're a relatively recent discovery," Hoopes said. "They remained unknown until the United Fruit Company began clearing land for banana plantations in southern Costa Rica."

According to Hoopes, around 300 balls are known to exist, with the largest weighing 16 tons and measuring eight feet in diameter. Many of these are clustered in Costa Rica's Diquis Delta region. Some remain pristine in the original places of discovery, but many others have been relocated or damaged due to erosion, fires and vandalism.

The KU researcher said that scientists believe the stones were first created around 600 A.D., with most dating to after 1,000 A.D. but before the Spanish conquest.

"We date the spheres by pottery styles and radiocarbon dates associated with archeological deposits found with the stone spheres," Hoopes said. "One of the problems with this methodology is that it tells you the latest use of the sphere but it doesn't tell you when it was made. These objects can be used for centuries and are still sitting where they are after a thousand years. So it's very difficult to say exactly when they were made."

Speculation and pseudoscience have plagued general understanding of the stone spheres. For instance, publications have claimed that the balls are associated with the "lost" continent of Atlantis. Others have asserted that the balls are navigational aids or relics related to Stonehenge or the massive heads on Easter Island.

"Myths are really based on a lot of very rampant speculation about imaginary ancient civilizations or visits from extraterrestrials," Hoopes said.

In reality, archaeological excavations in the 1940s found the stone balls to be linked with pottery and materials typical of pre-Columbian cultures of southern Costa Rica.

"We really don't know why they were made," Hoopes said. "The people who made them didn't leave any written records. We're left to archeological data to try to reconstruct the context. The culture of the people who made them became extinct shortly after the Spanish conquest. So, there are no myths or legends or other stories that are told by the indigenous people of Costa Rica about why they made these spheres."

Hoopes has a created a popular Web page to knock down some of the misconceptions about the spheres. He said the stones' creation, while vague, certainly had nothing to do with lost cities or space ships.

"We think the main technique that was used was pecking and grinding and hammering with stones," said Hoopes. "There are some spheres that have been found that still have the marks of the blows on them from hammer stones. We think that that's how they were formed, by hammering on big rocks and sculpting them into a spherical shape."

That idea is slowly changing now that science realizes, by observing volcanic lava layers, they were previously incorrect about lava layer ages and are starting to reconsider their ideas about the age of other geologic formations.

One thing I feel was overlooked in the movie 'Dragons or Dinosaurs' is the state of animal remains is dependent upon where they are found, and where they are found determines how they are preserved be it the desert, peat bog or frozen tundra.

Some remains have been so well preserved that soft tissue remains in tact and pliable, red blood cells can be taken and examined, food may still be in the animal's stomach, etc. That in of itself may throw a wrench into determining the remain's age.

Searching geologic records as well as man's own recorded account was a very good idea to aid in determining that Man and Dino could have walked the earth together.

The Earth, and the universe in general, is full of wonders. I see no need to gild the lily with fantastic notions - things are marvellous enough as they are.

The Alberta 'golf ball' does look a lot like brain coral or similar, and it reminds me a lot of some limestone fossils I have (albeit on a much bigger scale). The 'lid' appearance is likely to be the topmost part of the object sticking out of the water at least some of the time.

I too have seen the photos of these items (page 1 of this Thread) before.

From a very early age, I seemed to 'know' that we had been 'visisted' as a species for a very long time and even seeded by such. It seemed a natural conclusion for me. Leading me to think that we are being conditioned either directly or indirectly to learn about such.........

These photos make you wonder how many more items have been hidden away or destroyed because of their ET origins:eek:

The radio-carbon dating statement is a dead giveaway. There's no carbon in stone and even if there was, how would you determine the date of the removal of some of it's material?

An alien survivor from a prehistoric saucer crash? An unfortunate time traveler from the future? A tradesman from a parallel universe? A hitherto undiscovered species? Or a mere freak deformity of a human being? Nobody knows for sure, but no matter the explanation, the Sealand Skull has potential to change the view of the world we live in.

The July 2007 discovery of the skull in Olstykke on the Danish island Sealand did however not make headlines and remained largely ignored by science until 2010. The researchers who in 2008 examined the skull at the Veterinarian High School in Copenhagen merely concluded that “Although resembling a mammal, certain features make it impossible to fit the animal into Linnaean taxonomy”.

Dug up during the replacement of old sewer pipes, the finder at first believed that it was some horse bone, as the house formerly belonged to a horse butcher, and the garden is full of remains. It was not until refilling the trench that he noticed its humanoid shape. Later excavations at the site have not uncovered further remains with connection to the creature, only identifiable animal bones, stone axes and other Neolithic tools which are common to the area. The fact that the skull was found among Neolithic remains does however, not reveal its age. Carbon 14 dating at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen has shown that the creature lived between 1200 and 1280 AD. Furthermore, the skull was found above the old pipes, whose age suggests that it wasn’t buried until after 1900. Also the absence of other skeleton parts of the creature, together with the skull’s state of preservation, has led the scientists to suspect that it has not been buried for long, probably only a couple of decades.

Perhaps to conceal the secret behind its existence someone stored it for ages and later deliberately buried it. It is interesting to note that residents in Olstykke and nearby villages have from former times told about a local member of l’Ordre Lux Pégasos (the Order of Pegasus’ Light), whom accordingly on behalf of the order protected various items – among them a mysterious cranium and several devices made of extraordinary light, albeit unbreakable metal or ceramics. The skull is said to have originated from the Balkans, but it has also been stored in Paris, France, and in Munich, Germany, before arriving in Denmark.

If the story holds true, it is possible that further research may lead to the whereabouts of alien artefacts. It is plausible that l’Ordre Lux Pégasos still keeps objects as well as insights into their origin and purpose. Little is known about the order however, except that it was established around 1350 and throughout its existence has counted influential poets and authors among its members. Among the prominent initiated were Giovanni Boccaccio, William Shakespeare, Réne Descartes, Thomas Jefferson, Edward Bulwer-Lytton, Ambrose Bierce, Karin Boye, H.G. Wells, Julio Cortázar, Joseph Heller, Octavia Butler, Aleksandr Solsjenitsyn and Ahmed al-Baghdadi. One can wonder why the task of preserving alien artefacts and knowledge fell upon an order solely consisting of writers, but the very name of the order does hint at one or more guests from the Pegasus constellation, who for some time lived among us and brought us vast knowledges and inspiration. The secrecy of the order however suggests that humanity is not yet ready to share the Pegasian knowledge.

The Sealand Skull is about one and a half times larger than a male Homo sapiens cranium. Especially the eye sockets contribute to its size. Its smooth surface reveals that the creature was adapted to cold climate, and its relative eye size that it was either a night creature, lived underground or on a planet orbiting a remote or dim star, probably an orange or red dwarf. It is noted that the star 51 Pegasi in the Pegasus constellation was the first Sun-like star known to have a planet. Planets orbiting the Pegasus star HR 8799 were the first to be directly imaged, and spectroscopic analysis of HD 209458 b, another planet in the constellation, has provided the first evidence of atmospheric water vapor beyond our solar system.

Here he discovered this remarkable and anatomically modern human skull. The stratum from which it was taken is assigned to the Astian stage of the Pliocene. According to modern authorities, the Astian belongs to the Middle Pliocene, which would give the skull an age of 3 - 4 million years. Why and how did this modern human visit Italy nearly two million years before human beings walked the planet?

In a report delivered to the British Association for the Advancement of Science in 1881, H. Stopes, F.G.S. (Fellow of the Geological Society), described a shell, the surface of which bore a carving of a crude but unmistakably human face. The carved shell was found in the stratified deposits of the Red Crag. The Red Crag, part of which is called the Walton Crag, is dated to be of Late Pliocene age between 2.0 and 2.5 million years old. This find would place intelligent beings in England as far back as 2.0 million and maybe as much as 2.5 million years ago. One should keep in mind that in terms of conventional paleoanthropological opinion, one does not encounter such works of art until the time of fully modern Cro-Magnon man in the Late Pleistocene, about 30,000 years ago. The April 1862 edition of The Geologist included an English translation of an intriguing report by Maximilien Melleville, the vice president of the Societe Academique of Laon , France. This chalk ball was discovered in an Early Eocene lignite bed. On the basis of its stratigraphic position, is has been assigned a date of 45 - 55 million years ago. According to Melleville, there was no possibility that the chalk ball was a forgery: "It really is penetrated over four-fifths of its height by a black bituminous color that merges toward the top into a yellow circle, and which is evidently due to the contact of the lignite in which it had been for so long a time plunged. The upper part, which was in contact with the shell bed, on the contrary has preserved its natural color -- the dull white of the chalk.... As to the rock in which it was found, I can affirm that it is perfectly virgin, and presents no trace whatever of any ancient exploitation. As extraordinary as it might seem to those attached to standard evolutionary views, the evidence associated in this find suggest that if humans made the ball, they must have been in France 45 - 55 million years ago. Who made and left this man made artifact in our past long before human evolution... even before grazing and carnivorous mammals walked the planet?

In 1877 Mr. J. H. Neale was superintendent of the Montezuma Tunnel Company, and ran the Montezuma tunnel into the gravel underlying the lava of Table Mountain, Tuolumne County.... At a distance of between 1400 and 1500 feet from the mouth of the tunnel, or of between 200 and 300 feet beyond the edge of the solid lava, Mr. Neale saw several spear-heads of some dark rock and nearly one foot in length. On exploring further, he himself found a small mortar three or four inches in diameter and of irregular shape. This was discovered within a foot or two of the spear-heads. He then found a large well-formed pestle and near by a large and very regular mortar. All of these relics were found the same afternoon, and were all within a few feet of one another and close to the bed-rock, perhaps within a foot of it. Mr. Neale declares that it is utterly impossible that these relics can have reached the position in which they were found excepting at the time the gravel was deposited, and before the lava cap formed. The position of the artifacts in gravel close to the bed-rock at Tuolumne Table Mountain indicates they were 33-55 million years old. Grazing and carnivorous mammals had not even evolved on the planet at this time. So who brought and left behind these artifacts in California nearly 50 million years ago?

This sling stone is from the detritus bed beneath the Red Crag at Bramford, England. At least Pliocene in age, the stone is at least 5 million and possibly up to 50 million years old. Upon examination it was obvious that the stone had been shaped by the hand of man.... The whole surface... has been scraped with a flint, in such a way that it is covered with a series of facets running fairly regularly from end to end.... The scraping described above covers the whole surface of the object, and penetrates into its irregularities. As it stands the object is entirely artificial... yet left in a time millions of years before humans had had even evolved on the Earth.

Sandal-Shoe Footprint between 300-600 Million years old!

What may be the oldest fossil footprint yet found was discovered in June 1968 by William J. Meister, an amateur fossil collector. If the print is what it appears to be -the impression of a boot, sandal or shoe crushing a trilobite- it would have been made 300 to 600 million years ago and would be sufficient either to overturn all conventionally accepted ideas of human and geological evolution, prove that a shoe-wearing biped from another world had once visited this planet or ... prove that time travelers have visited our distant past.

Meiter made his potentially disturbing find during a rock and fossil-hunting expedition to Antelope Spring, 43 miles west of Delta, Utah. He was accompanied by his wife and two daughters, and by Mr. and Mrs. Francis Shape and their two daughters. The party had already discovered several fossils of trilobites when Meister split open a two-inch-thick slab of rock with his hammer and discovered the outrageous print. The rock fell open "like a book," revealing

"on one side the footprint of a human with a trilobites right in the footprint itself. The other half of the rock slab showed as almost perfect mold of the footprint and fossils. Amazingly the human was wearing a sandal!"

Trilobites were small marine invertebrates, the relatives of crabs and shrimps, that flourished for some 320 million years before becoming extinct 280 million years ago. Humans are currently thought to have emerged between 1 and 2 million years ago and to have been wearing well-shaped footwear for no more than a few thousand years.

The sandal that seems to have crushed a living trilobite was 10 1/4 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide; the heel is indented slightly more than the sole, as a human shoe print would be. Meister took the rock to Melvin Cook, a professor of metallurgy at the University of Utah, who advised him to show the specimen to the university geologists. When Meister was unable to find a geologist willing to examine the print, he went to a local news paper, The Desert News. Before long, the find received national publicity.

In a subsequent news conference the curator of the Museum of Earth Science at the University of Utah, Jame Madsen, said:

"There were no men 600 million years ago. Neither were there monkeys or bears or ground sloths to make pseudohuman tracks. What man-thing could possibly have been walking about on this planet before vertebrates even evolved?

Madsen then went on to say that a natural process must have formed the fossil, though of what kind he was unable to suggest. Dr. Jesse Jennings, of the university's anthropology department, guessed (rather boldly, considering the absence of any supporting visual evidence) that the print might have been made by one large trilobite coming to rest on the three smaller ones.

On July 20,1968, the Antelope Spring site was examined by Dr. Clifford Burdick, a consulting geologist from Tucson, Arizona, who soon found the impression of a child's foot in a bed of shale. "The impression," he said, "was about six inches in length, with the toes spreading, as if the child had never yet worn shoes, which compress the toes. There does not appear to be much of an arch, and the big toe is not prominent." The print was shown to two geologists and a paleontologist. One of the geologists agreed that it appeared to be that of a human being, but the paleontologist's opinion was that no biological agent had been involved. Dr. Burdick stuck to his guns:

"The rock chanced to fracture along the front of the toes before the fossil footprint was found. On cross section the fabric of the rock stands out in fine laminations, or bedding planes. Where the toes pressed into the soft material, the laminations were bowed downward from the horizontal, indicating a weight that had been pressed into the mud."

"What may be the oldest fossil footprint yet found was discovered in June 1968 by William J. Meister, an amateur fossil collector, and reportedy, an evolutionist. If the print is what it appears to be-the impression of a sandaled shoe crushing a trilobite-it would have been made 300 to 600 million years ago and would be sufficient either to overturn all conventionally accepted ideas of human and geological evolution or to prove that a shoe-wearing biped from another world had once visited the planet.

Meister made his potentially disturbing find during a rock-and fossil-hunting expedition to Antelope Spring, 43 miles west of Delta, Utah. He was accompanied by his wife and two daughters, and by Mr. And Mrs. Francis Shape and their two daughters.

The party had already discovered several fossils of trilobites when Meister split open a two-inch-thick slab of rock with his hammer and discovered the outrageous print. The rock fell open 'like a book,' revealing:

on one side the footprint of a human with trilobites right in the footprint itself. The other half of the rock slab showed an almost perfect mold of the footprint and fossils. Amazingly the human was wearing a sandal!

Trilobites were small marine invertebrates, the relatives of crabs and shrimps, that flourished for some 320 million years before becoming extinct 280 million years ago(according to science).

Humans are currently thought to have emerged between 1 and 2 million years ago and to have been wearing well-shaped footwear for no more than a few thousand years.

The sandal that seems to have crushed a living trilobite was 101/4inches long and 31/2inches wide; the heel is indented slightly more than the sole, as a human shoe print would be.

Meister took the rock to Melvin Cook, a professor of metallurgy at the University of Utah, who advised him to show the specimen to the university geologists. When Meister was unable to find a geologist willing to examine the print, he went to a local newspaper, The Deseret News. Before long, the find received national publicity.

In a subsequent news conference, the curator of the Museum of Earth Science at the University of Utah, James Madsen, said:

There were no men 600 million years ago. Neither were there monkeys or bears or ground sloths to make pseudo human tracks. What man-thing could possibly have been walking about on this planet before vertebrates even evolved?

Madsen then went on to say that the fossil must have been formed by a natural process, though of what kind he was unable to suggest. Dr. Jesse Jennings, of the university's anthropology department, guessed (rather boldly, considering the absence of any supporting visual evidence) that the print might have been made by one large trilobite coming to rest on three smaller ones.

On July 20, 1968, the Antelope Spring site was examined by Dr.Clifford Burdick, a consulting geologist from Tucson, Arizona, who soon found the impression of a child's foot in a bed of shale. 'The impression,' he said, 'was about six inches in length, with the toes spreading, as if the child had never yet worn shoes, which compress the toes.

There does not appear to be much of an arch, and the big toe is not prominent.' The print was shown to two geologists and a paleontologist. One of the geologist agreed that it appeared to be that of a human being, but the paleontologist's opinion was that no biological agent had been involved. Dr.Burdick stuck to his guns:

The rock chanced to fracture along the front of the toes before the fossil footprint was found. On cross section the fabric of the rock stands out in fine laminations, or bedding planes. Where the toes pressed into the soft material, the laminations were bowed downward from the horizontal, indicating a weight that had been pressed into the mud.

In August 1968 Mr. Dean Bitter, and educator in the Salt Lake City public school system, claimed to have discovered two more prints of shoes or sandals in the Antelope Spring area.

According to Professor Cook, no trilobites were injured by these footfalls, but a small trilobite was found near the prints in the same rock, indicating that the small sea creature and the sandaled wanderer might have been contemporaries.

After looking at so many old objects my only conclusions would be:

1. Geologists have really no idea about how to judge time correctly and the current methods dont work accross the board. Thats why some things like the 1920s style fuse (or what ever it was) in a rock. Makes me think that maybe some rock types can form quicker. The only rock types they have been observing forming is from volcanoes. Otherwise man created this object millions of years ago or man, time travelled into the past and this was lost, and ended up like this.
2. Yes its obvious that man has been around longer than we are taught at school. I love the 1 billion year time line history! Really battling with that one, in my head.

Friends and I have been saying - for many years - that 'Carbon Dating' is not accurate/doesnt work, a little while back there was a small 'backpage' type article stating that Carbon dating didnt work, that it was a flawed methodology yet there was no other mention of this earth shattering revelation by the rest of the scientific/academic community! But then why would there be, most are 'repeaters' and their ego based belief systems are tied up in all of this. The question is why not mention such, if being scientific or applying acedemic rigour etc. is ones profession, especially as so many assumptions have been made about our past - and the Earth's past - using Carbon Dating as a corner stone for such!

Either humankind has been around longer or more than likely homeo-sapiens sapiens was 'genetically modified' from previous 'pro-humans' at about 50,000 years ago (or could be sooner 12,000 - 20,000 years ago), the question is who 'helped' in this rapid development programme.

You havent mentioned the possibility of us having alien ancestors (or that they are still here) or the possibility that humankind have done all of this - i.e. as an advanced civilisation - before.......

A mysterious skull was discovered at Olstykke on the Danish island of Sealand in July 2007, during the replacement of old sewer pipes .The Sealand Skull is about one and a half times larger than a male Homo sapien cranium. Especially the eye sockets contribute to its size. Its smooth surface reveals that the creature was adapted to cold climate, and its relative eye size that it was either a night creature, lived underground or on a planet orbiting a remote or dim star, probably an orange or red dwarf.

It is noted that the star 51 Pegasi in the Pegasus constellation was the first Sun-like star known to have a planet. Planets orbiting the Pegasus star HR 8799 were the first to be directly imaged.

The July 2007 discovery of the skull did, however, not make headlines and remained largely ignored by science until 2010. The researchers who in 2008 examined the skull at the Veterinarian High School in Copenhagen, merely concluded that, "although resembling a mammal, certain features make it impossible to fit the animal into Linnaean taxonomy."

Dug up during the replacement of old sewer pipes, the finder at first believed that it was some horse bone. The property was the former home of a horse butcher and the garden was full of buried remains. It was not until refilling the trench that he noticed its humanoid shape. Later excavations at the site have not uncovered further remains with connection to the creature. Only identifiable animal bones, stone axes, and other neolithic tools which are common to the area were found.

The fact that the skull was found among Neolithic remains does not reveal its age. Carbon 14 dating at the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen has shown that the creature lived between 1200 and 1280 AD. Furthermore, the skull was found above the old pipes, whose age suggests that it wasn't buried until after 1900.

The absence of other skeletal parts of the creature, as well as the skull�s state of preservation, has led the scientists to suspect that it has not been buried for long, probably only a couple of decades. Perhaps to conceal the secret behind its existence, someone stored it for ages and later deliberately buried it.

According to local legend, residents in Olstykke and nearby villages, a member of l'Ordre Lux P'gasos (the Order of Pegasus' Light), lived among them and protected various items, such as a mysterious cranium and several devices made of extraordinary light, unbreakable metal or ceramics.If the story holds true,it is possible that further research may lead to the whereabouts of alien artifacts.

My point is that the 'professionals' dont like letting the general public know that they have to 'guesstimate' or use their perception/knowledge to make some sort of informed decision/judgement/statement - therefore such isnt as robust/scientific/rigorous as many 'experts' would like us all to believe.......

This means that even though we are fed the so called 'fact's they're are not always - cast in stone - facts at all and indeed often fall under the heading of 'professional opinion' which isnt always rigorous or indeed scientific.....

There’s also uranium-lead dating, which has an age range of 1-4.5 million years old. It can be used for such long time spans because the half-life of uranium turning into lead is billions of years, in the order of the age of the Earth at 4.5 billion years.

The Mysterious Voynich Manuscript - An Alien Connection?

In 1912 Polish-American Rare Book Dealer, Wilfred M. Voynich, born Michal Wojnicz of Telshi (a small town within the fallen Russian Empire) acquired a very odd book for his personal collection.

Voynich was a well known New York book dealer, specialising in early and rare books. Having fled Siberian incarceration to London (for attempting to liberate fellow Russian revolutionaries), he quickly changed his name to Wilfred and soon after opened his first bookstore in England.

He eventually moved his business interests to the American East Coast. In and of the times, Voynich was unremarkable among his fellow immigrants and book traders; until, that is, he acquired a very special manuscript in a secret deal with the mysterious and ancient order of Jesuits, also known as the "Society of Jesus".

Voynich acquired his famous ‘Voynich Manuscript’ from the Jesuits’ Ghislieri College at the patrician villa known as Villa Mondragone in Frascati, Italy (now a peripheral seat of the University of Rome Tor Vergata).

Since that lucky find, the manuscript remained in Voynich’s personal library until his death in 1930, when it was briefly decreed to his beloved wife.

Following his death there was a bidding frenzy for the manuscript, but the Widow Voynich held steady and herself decreed the book to a close friend upon her own death. Eventually the manuscript was sold to another well known book dealer named Hans P. Kraus, who, then unable to find a suitable buyer, donated the book to the Yale University Museum in 1969.

The Voynich Manuscript, as it’s now commonly called, is one of the rarest wonders of the modern world. It is a book that quite literally should not exist. To call it a book is somewhat misleading, for it, as with most ancient manuscripts, resembles nothing of a book as you might know it.

It is a collection of some 272 vellum pages (the skin of a mammal, often cow, stretched and dried to be used as a durable paper), 240 pages of which have survived the many handlings, transfers and inspections the book has encountered over the years.

The origins of the book are almost as interesting and mysterious as its contents. Many scholars believe the book was written, by quill pen and using coloured paint, at some point in the mid 15th or 16th centuries. By who is a completely different story, and the controversy over the authors identity is strongly connected to the mystery of the manuscripts contents.

The information contained in the book is largely unknown, and this is due completely, to the fact that the Voynich Manuscript is written in an entirely unknown and undecipherable language.

The surviving 240 pages, made up of some 170,000 discreet written characters or glyphs, making up 35,000 separate words, are accompanied by artfully crafted sketches and drawings, many of which are equally mysterious.

A large number of the sketches resemble known plant species, with subtle, and sometime drastic differences, others resemble complex aqueduct drawings and even anatomical type depictions of people (usually women).

The manuscript has been examined by no less than an army of cryptologists, linguists and a host of other scholars, including biblical scholars, and none of the countless hands and minds of these learned friends has ever been able to decipher a single word.

Very early on in the known existence of the book, several historians and cryptologists confirmed that the text in the manuscript is that of a learnable language, it holds with all the known rules and constructs of modern and ancient languages and quite often the sketches seem to correspond with titles and descriptions. In modern examination, most, if not all, experts continue to agree on this as fact.

Of course, with such a mysterious find in the hands of so many people, theories abound about the books origins.

The earliest known owner of the book was one Georg Barech, an obscure alchemist from Prague, in the early 17th century.

Theories content that Barech may have fabricated the book as a test for his patron. Others suggest that it was Voynich himself who fabricated both the book and the story, though evidence does exist to refute this claim.

Some claim that the book is the product of a lost middle European language, and that the book is a medical (or alchemist) instructional tome. Though some of the wilder claims cite both alien influence and even time travel.

The connection to the Society of Jesus and the Villa Mondragone might even suggest a Masonic origin to the manuscript, tying its information to the Knights Templar and the so-called secret knowledge they possessed, as passed down from King Solomon.

The truth is, no one alive has the ability to read or decipher the huge amount of information contained in this 600 (or so) year old book. It could possibly provide instructions for turning lead into gold, or it could be an interstellar gardening guide, or even still, it could be an early medieval alchemical textbook. Nonetheless, the Voynich Manuscript remains one of the oldest mysteries of modern history. Experts are in total disagreement about its origin and meaning, and thus, it will hold its place in the Yale Museum, as The Book That Shouldn’t Exist.

Experts determine age of book 'nobody can read'

(PhysOrg.com) -- While enthusiasts across the world pored over the Voynich manuscript, one of the most mysterious writings ever found – penned by an unknown author in a language no one understands – a research team at the UA solved one of its biggest mysteries: When was the book made?



University of Arizona researchers have cracked one of the puzzles surrounding what has been called "the world's most mysterious manuscript" – the Voynich manuscript, a book filled with drawings and writings nobody has been able to make sense of to this day.
Using radiocarbon dating (http://www.physorg.com/tags/radiocarbon+dating/), a team led by Greg Hodgins in the UA's department of physics has found the manuscript's parchment pages date back to the early 15th century, making the book a century older than scholars had previously thought.
This tome makes the "DaVinci Code" look downright lackluster: Rows of text scrawled on visibly aged parchment, flowing around intricately drawn illustrations depicting plants, astronomical charts and human figures bathing in – perhaps – the fountain of youth. At first glance, the "Voynich manuscript" appears to be not unlike any other antique work of writing and drawing.
An alien language
But a second, closer look reveals that nothing here is what it seems. Alien characters, some resembling Latin letters, others unlike anything used in any known language, are arranged into what appear to be words and sentences, except they don't resemble anything written – or read – by human beings.
Hodgins, an assistant research scientist and assistant professor in the UA's department of physics with a joint appointment at the UA's School of Anthropology, is fascinated with the manuscript.
"Is it a code, a cipher of some kind? People are doing statistical analysis of letter use and word use – the tools that have been used for code breaking. But they still haven't figured it out."
A chemist and archaeological scientist by training, Hodgins works for the NSF Arizona Accelerator Mass Spectrometry, or AMS, Laboratory, which is shared between physics and geosciences. His team was able to nail down the time when the Voynich manuscript was made.
Currently owned by the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library of Yale University, the manuscript was discovered in the Villa Mondragone near Rome in 1912 by antique book dealer Wilfrid Voynich while sifting through a chest of books offered for sale by the Society of Jesus. Voynich dedicated the remainder of his life to unveiling the mystery of the book's origin and deciphering its meanings. He died 18 years later, without having wrestled any its secrets from the book.

Fast-forward to 2009: In the basement underneath the UA's Physics and Atmospheric Sciences building, Hodgins and a crew of scientists, engineers and technicians stare at a computer monitor displaying graphs and lines. The humming sound of machinery fills the room and provides a backdrop drone for the rhythmic hissing of vacuum pumps.
Stainless steel pipes, alternating with heavy-bodied vacuum chambers, run along the walls.
This is the heart of the NSF-Arizona AMS Laboratory: an accelerator mass spectrometer capable of sniffing out traces of carbon-14 atoms that are present in samples, giving scientists clues about the age of those samples.

Radiocarbon dating: looking back in time Carbon-14 is a rare form of carbon, a so-called radioisotope, that occurs naturally in the Earth's environment. In the natural environment, there is only one carbon-14 atom per trillion non-radioactive or "stable" carbon isotopes, mostly carbon-12, but with small amounts of carbon-13. Carbon-14 is found in the atmosphere within carbon dioxide gas.
Plants produce their tissues by taking up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and so accumulate carbon-14 during life. Animals in turn accumulate carbon-14 in their tissues by eating plants, or eating other organisms that consume plants.
When a plant or animal dies, the level of carbon-14 in it remains drops at a predictable rate, and so can be used to calculate the amount of time that has passed since death.
What is true of plants and animals is also true of products made from them. Because the parchment pages of the Voynich Manuscript were made from animal skin, they can be radiocarbon-dated.
Pointing to the front end of the mass spectrometer, Hodgins explains the principle behind it. A tiny sample of carbon extracted from the manuscript is introduced into the "ion source" of the mass spectrometer.
"This causes the atoms in the sample to be ionized," he explained, "meaning they now have an electric charge and can be propelled by electric and magnetic fields."
Ejected from the ion source, the carbon ions are formed into a beam that races through the instrument at a fraction of the speed of light. Focusing the beam with magnetic lenses and filters, the mass spectrometer then splits it up into several beams, each containing only one isotope species of a certain mass.
"Carbon-14 is heavier than the other carbon isotopes," Hodgins said. "This way, we can single out this isotope and determine how much of it is present in the sample. From that, we calculate its age."
Dissecting a century-old book
To obtain the sample from the manuscript, Hodgins traveled to Yale University, where conservators had previously identified pages that had not been rebound or repaired and were the best to sample.
"I sat down with the Voynich manuscript on a desk in front of me, and delicately dissected a piece of parchment from the edge of a page with a scalpel," Hodgins says.
He cut four samples from four pages, each measuring about 1 by 6 millimeters (ca. 1/16 by 1 inch) and brought them back to the laboratory in Tucson, where they were thoroughly cleaned.
"Because we were sampling from the page margins, we expected there are a lot of finger oils adsorbed over time," Hodgins explains. "Plus, if the book was re-bound at any point, the sampling spots on these pages may actually not have been on the edge but on the spine, meaning they may have had adhesives on them."
"The modern methods we use to date the material are so sensitive that traces of modern contamination would be enough to throw things off."
Next, the sample was combusted, stripping the material of any unwanted compounds and leaving behind only its carbon content as a small dusting of graphite at the bottom of the vial.
"In radiocarbon dating, there is this whole system of many people working at it," he said. "It takes many skills to produce a date. From start to finish, there is archaeological expertise; there is biochemical and chemical expertise; we need physicists, engineers and statisticians. It's one of the joys of working in this place that we all work together toward this common goal."
The UA's team was able to push back the presumed age of the Voynich manuscript by 100 years, a discovery that killed some of the previously held hypotheses about its origins and history.
Elsewhere, experts analyzed the inks and paints that makes up the manuscript's strange writings and images.
"It would be great if we could directly radiocarbon date the inks, but it is actually really difficult to do. First, they are on a surface only in trace amounts" Hodgins said. "The carbon content is usually extremely low. Moreover, sampling ink free of carbon from the parchment on which it sits is currently beyond our abilities. Finally, some inks are not carbon based, but are derived from ground minerals. They're inorganic, so they don't contain any carbon."
"It was found that the colors are consistent with the Renaissance palette – the colors that were available at the time. But it doesn't really tell us one way or the other, there is nothing suspicious there."
While Hodgins is quick to point out that anything beyond the dating aspect is outside his expertise, he admits he is just as fascinated with the book as everybody else who has tried to unveil its history and meaning.
"The text shows strange characteristics like repetitive word use or the exchange of one letter in a sequence," he says. "Oddities like that make it really hard to understand the meaning."
"There are types of ciphers that embed meaning within gibberish. So it is possible that most of it does mean nothing. There is an old cipher method where you have a sheet of paper with strategically placed holes in it. And when those holes are laid on top of the writing, you read the letters in those holes."
"Who knows what's being written about in this manuscript, but it appears to be dealing with a range of topics that might relate to alchemy. Secrecy is sometimes associated with alchemy, and so it would be consistent with that tradition if the knowledge contained in the book was encoded. What we have are the drawings. Just look at those drawings: Are they botanical? Are they marine organisms? Are they astrological? Nobody knows."

Six miles from Urfa, an ancient city in southeastern Turkey, Klaus Schmidt has made one of the most startling archaeological discoveries of our time: massive carved stones about 11,000 years old, crafted and arranged by prehistoric people who apparently had not yet developed metal tools or even pottery.

Göbekli Tepe (Turkish for "Potbelly hill") is a hilltop sanctuary erected on the highest point of an elongated mountain ridge some 15 km northeast of the town of Şanlıurfa (formerly Urfa / Edessa) in southeastern Turkey. The site is currently undergoing excavation by German and Turkish archaeologists.

Until excavations began, a complex on this scale was not thought possible for a community so ancient. The massive sequence of stratification layers suggests several millennia of activity, perhaps reaching back to the Mesolithic. The oldest occupation layer (stratum III) contains monolithic pillars linked by coarsely built walls to form circular or oval structures. Göbekli Tepe has revealed several adjacent rectangular rooms with floors of polished lime, reminiscent of Roman terrazzo floors.

At present, Göbekli Tepe raises more questions for archaeology and prehistory than it answers. We do not know how a force large enough to construct, augment, and maintain such a substantial complex was mobilized and paid or fed in the conditions of pre-Neolithic society. We cannot "read" the pictograms, and do not know for certain what meaning the animal reliefs had for visitors to the site; the variety of fauna depicted, from lions and boars to birds and insects, makes any single explanation problematic.

The reason the complex was eventually buried remains unexplained. Until more evidence is gathered, it is difficult to deduce anything certain about the originating culture.

For some reason this one really freaked me out. Out of all the replies. It gave me the chills. The picture with the people in the green pool...reminded me of the movie Soylent Green. It looks like they are being mixed with plants and then the life is sucked out of them to feed something else. Or change their dna or something. It looks like a scientific experiment book. Or a recipe book. Like which herbs go with human meat. Ugh. I don't think I really want to know. Although it intrigues me about the writing.

I've just been reading through this thread because I find OOPARTS to be fascinating.


I personally think that humans existed for thousands maybe millions more years than we thought and that we went to war with an alien race. The alien race won the war and took over the planet. The original inhabitants of the planet became enslaved and fast forward to the present day, they are still in control of us and keeping our history a secret from us. They don't want us to use our brains to their full potential because they don't want us to be more advanced than them.

Could this be an Extraterrestrial Mummy? The photo was apparently taken back in 1972 by an archeology team from the University of Illinois while visiting a private musem in Arequipa, Peru.

While the team were viewing exhibits, they were invited to view a special room �out the back� which is where the mummy was being housed. This photo was taken at this time by one of the team members.

According to the museum records, the mummy came from a group of locals who were scavenging what they thought were Inca tombs hidden in a nearly inaccessible cave high in the mountains near Tres Cruces. The cave was decorated with strange symbols of flying snakes exploding in the air and falling into a river.

Unfortunately when the team returned to the museum in 1996, they discovered that the museum had been burnt to the ground after thieves stole all artifacts.

According to legend, the mummy�s current location remains a mystery.

It seems to me that our so called evolution doesnt add up - I think that we are 'newer' than millions of years old in our current form, yet that doesnt mean to say that we were not here before in another guise...

The bituminous coal that was mined near his house in Upshur County West Virginia is supposed to be about 300 million years old! What is a brass bell with an iron clapper doing in coal ascribed to the Carboniferous Period? According to Norm Sharbaugh’s book Ammunition (which includes several "coal anecdotes") the bell is an antediluvian artifact (made before the Genesis Flood).

The Institute for Creation Research had the bell submitted to the lab at the University of Oklahoma. There a nuclear activation analysis revealed that the bell contains an unusual mix of metals, different from any known modern alloy production (including copper, zinc, tin, arsenic, iodine, and selenium).

Genesis 4:22 states that Tubal-Cain was "an instructor of every artificer in brass and iron..." Perhaps when his civilization came to an end in the flood, this bell was buried with a mass of vegetation that became coal and ended up thousands of years later in Newt Anderson’s coal bin. Note: The coal from the Wilburton Coal Mines is assigned an evolutionary date of Mid Pennsylvanian (295 million years.) Either the dating is wrong, or there were men walking on earth 295 million years ago!


One cannot help but ask how man-made artifacts became embedded in coal deposits far under the surface of the ground. The answer of course is a huge flood of Biblical proportions.

According to the Biblical account, the entire face of the earth was covered with water. With the exception of those preserved in a huge wooden boat, all the animals perished along with mankind.

Massive mud floods apparently covered the earth creating coal deposits. Artifacts from men who lived before the flood are turning up in coal veins as a permanent record of the catastrophe that happened in the days of Noah.

As members of the ATS, like “Outkast Searcher”, diligently noted, despite looking very modern the man’s outfit and even glasses and camera could be found in the 1940s. Below, similar sunglasses used by actress Barbara Stanwyck on the movie “Double Indemnity” (1944):

The outfit could also be found 70 years ago. Being used as we are to our contemporary fashion, we look at the man and assume he’s wearing a stamped T-shirt, something that would be indeed out of place (or time). But if you look carefully, you can see that he’s actually wearing (or could as well be wearing) a sweatshirt. And sweatshirts with bordered emblems were not uncommon in the 1940s – in fact you can find those in other photos from the same exhibit.

The sweater he also uses seems to be hand knitted, with buttons on the front. Something that was definitely available at the time, if he had some kind grandma perhaps.

Finally, despite some comments about the camera lens being too big for the time, too compact, it looks like a Kodak Folding Pocket model, available since the beginning of the 20th century.

That is: even taking this photo for granted, as depicting an authentic scene, a real man with his curious glasses and outfit in Canada 70 years ago, there’s nothing that can be seen that is actually out of place or time.

This photo got into a museum and would have been examined by experts. The point here, of course, is that if the guy is a time traveler, it could explain at least some of the Ooparts we see.

Let’s look again at the photo. Pay attention to the right arm of the “time traveller”: you may realize that the arm actually belongs to the man right behind him. Why would another man’s arm be in that position? Look again. It is the 'time traveler's' arm and he's holding a camera. Why would the person next to him be touching the 'time traveler's' camera??

A publication called the American Anthropologist reported in 1896 that the Ohio State Academy of Science had exhibited a large stone containing a human foot print. In 1897, the Los Angeles Herald revealed that a fossil shoe impression had been discovered in solid rock. The imprint was that of a shoe with a high narrow heel and a broad flat sole. Sandal or moccasin prints have also been observed in the gypsum of the White Sands in New Mexico.

In Fisher Canyon, Nevada, in 1927, a shoe print was found. It was in a layer of Triassic limestone dated at 225 million years old. The rock was later examined at the Rockefeller Foundation, and confirmed to indeed be a shoe heel. High resolution photographs revealed that the leather had a double row of stitches with the twists of the threads discernible.

In 1930, geologists discovered a total of twelve 9.5 inch human tracks and portions of others. They had been imprinted into sandstone.

A fossilized shoe impression was discovered in 1948 near Lake Windermere, in northern England. The find was recorded in the natural history journal 'The Field'. Around the edge of the heel and on the sole were faint decorations of linear and flower-like designs.

In 1959 in the Gobi Desert a fossilized print of a shoe with a ribbed sole was found, in sandstone dated at 15 million years of age.

Fossil tracks of now extinct creatures and many human tracks were found in 1969 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The sandstone strata in which they were discovered were dated at between 3 and 5 million years old.

Very clear human-like tracks were discovered in 1973. The impressions were in the same layer of rock as tracks of the Anatosaur, a duck-billed dinosaur. If the tracks are accepted as human, they would place man back in the time of the Cretaceous period.

In 1975 Dr Stanley Rhine of the University of New Mexico announced the discovery of footprints that appeared human in strata estimated to be 40 million years old. Similar discoveries were made in Kenton, Oklahoma and in Wisconsin.


Human bones

A fossilized human skull was found in coal that was sold in Germany in the mid 1800s.

In 1867 at the Rocky Point Mine, in Gilman, Colorado, at a depth of 400 feet, miners found human bones embedded in a silver vein and a well-tempered copper arrowhead. The vein was dated at 135 million years old.

Prospectors digging near Eureka, Nevada in 1877 found a human leg bone and kneecap sticking out of solid rock. Doctors examined the remains and determined they were from a very modern-looking human being. The rock in which the bones were found was dated geologically to the Jurassic Period.

In 1958 in Tuscany, Italy a human jawbone was found at a depth of 600 feet in a coal mine, encased in a Miocene stratum, geologically dated as being 20 million years old.

I come across this heads wile reading a book, on ancient cultures, you can find then on south-central Mexico, in San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán, San Lorenzo e La Venta.

Everything normal to here, stone heads, weight several tons, you can find thousands of this type of scultures over the world. But what don´t feet here, is that the Olmecs were the first major Pre-Columbian civilization in Mexico. Before the Aztecs and the Mayans, and flourished on the same region.
What is the strange about this stone heads, is that they feature African niger heads, and from what we know, and what scholars say, African Nigers, was only brought to the New world as slaves, from the sixteen to the nighteen centuries, and this civilization is at least thousands of years younger.

This was situated under the portico of a house and could not move because of their size and weight: 148 cm high by 106 feet wide and 16 inches thick, and at least one ton. A week later, began removing the "stone" for further study. The stone was transported to the university.

Unexpectedly, it contained a three-dimensional map. Further investigation of a group of Chinese and Russian specialists determined that the map showed the Ural region. The geological structure of the excavation consisted of three levels: the base, 14 cm thick dolomite, the middle layer or second layer containing the recorded image and diopside crystal, and the third layer, 2 mm porcelain calcium and supposedly protects the map against the blows.

The tablet contained hieroglyphic-syllabic inscriptions vertical. At first scientists thought the map could be the work of the ancient Chinese for their similarity. But after looking at different books and not find any inscription similar to those found it impossible to decipher.

Different x-rays confirmed that the stone was made of precision instruments, a simple stone carver had not been able to obtain such relief, and probably the board is part of a mosaic of other slabs.

The geographical relief of Bashkir has not changed much in millions of years and with the help of specialists in cartography, topography, geology, etc.. was achieved quickly identify the amount of Ufa, his failure, the various rivers of the region of the Urals, Ufa Sterlitimak failure, so that could also deduce that the map is done on a scale of 1 cm: 1, 1 km.

The Voynich Manuscript is considered to be 'The Most Mysterious Manuscript in the World'. To this day this medieval artifact resists all efforts at translation.
It is either an ingenious hoax or an unbreakable cipher.

The manuscript is named after its discoverer, the American antique book dealer and collector, Wilfrid M. Voynich, who discovered it in 1912, amongst a collection of ancient manuscripts kept in villa Mondragone in Frascati, near Rome, which had been by then turned into a Jesuit College (closed in 1953).

The Voynich Manuscript is a cipher manuscript, sometimes attributed to Roger Bacon. Scientific text in an unidentified language, in cipher, possibly written in central Europe in the 15th century.

Based on the evidence of the calligraphy, the drawings, the vellum, and the pigments, Wilfrid Voynich estimated that the Manuscript was created in the late 13th century. The manuscript is small, seven by ten inches, but thick, nearly 235 pages. It is written in an unknown script of which there is no known other instance in the world. It is abundantly illustrated with awkward coloured drawings of:

* what seems to be herbal recipes;
* tiny naked women frolicking in bathtubs connected by intricate plumbing looking more like anatomical parts than hydraulic contraptions;

From a piece of paper which was once attached to the Voynich manuscript, and which is now stored in one of the boxes belonging with the Voynich manuscript holdings of the Beinecke library, it is known that the manuscript once formed part of the private library of Petrus Beckx S.J., 22nd general of the Society of Jesus.

I was lucky enough to hear Robert Bauval speak a few years back (Marlbrough UK) and indeed to meet the man also, very compelling speaker/work.

I have narrowly missed Graham Hancock speak, more is the pity, I can recommend his book 'Fingerprints of the gods' amongst others though.

A few years back UK mainstream TV did some work with Hancock and some then went on to publically discredit his work (which of course they would). Indeed there were some inaccuracies in his work, yet both Hancock and Bauval (who have published together) have some very compelling arguments (both are well read and their works are well referenced) that seem to answer certain questions, that mainstream archaeologists and historians are unable, or unwilling to answer.

Earth Crust Diplacement theory - if accurate - explains a great deal and fills in knowledge gaps.

I look at, so called, evolution as something that only happens under extreme stress (climatic or otherwise) and not as an ongoing process and creationism, has its place but only up to a point. Metaphsically speaking, I believe, we, the planet, the universe have all been created by 'concious endeavours', so has mutational, spontanous evolution, yet these things happen, with will, intent and organically.....the story so far is much more complex and more wonderful than we ever imagined.

BTW I particularly liked the point about the metalic 'staples' used to hold the stonework together, common to sites around the world - there is something we are not taught in school!!:)

Indeed there were some inaccuracies in his work, yet both Hancock and Bauval (who have published together) have some very compelling arguments (both are well read and their works are well referenced) that seem to answer certain questions, that mainstream archaeologists and historians are unable, or unwilling to answer.

Earth Crust Diplacement theory - if accurate - explains a great deal and fills in knowledge gaps.

I look at, so called, evolution as something that only happens under extreme stress (climatic or otherwise) and not as an ongoing process and creationism, has its place but only up to a point. Metaphsically speaking, I believe, we, the planet, the universe have all been created by 'concious endeavours', so has mutational, spontanous evolution, yet these things happen, with will, intent and organically.....the story so far is much more complex and more wonderful than we ever imagined.

BTW I particularly liked the point about the metalic 'staples' used to hold the stonework together, common to sites around the world - there is something we are not taught in school!!:)

Is it true to say that many Nazca researchers now believe that the lines are/were there so as to also help identify underground streams/water/water courses?

If that is the case then I would also offer the theory, that, more often than not, such water courses are also very closely associated with leys (so called ley-lines), serpent paths, and geopathic stress lines et al. These would have had very powerful effects over the inhabitants of the area, both spiritually and emotionally to mention just two.

providing your pretty fit then you can climb the pyramids as they are (although your not allowed to now unless you backhand a guard and go at 4am)

I come across this heads wile reading a book, on ancient cultures, you can find then on south-central Mexico, in San Lorenzo Tenochtitlán, San Lorenzo e La Venta.

Everything normal to here, stone heads, weight several tons, you can find thousands of this type of scultures over the world. But what don´t feet here, is that the Olmecs were the first major Pre-Columbian civilization in Mexico. Before the Aztecs and the Mayans, and flourished on the same region.

Very true. It also makes me really suspicious of all those TV commercials and small, almost anonymous businesses that suddenly sprang up everywhere and have since disappeared without any clue as to why, asking you to sell all your gold for cash.... I mean, I can see the idea behind recycling the metal for more jewellery and giving the economy a bit of a nudge, but I never really bought it and thought the guy on the TV commercial looked way too snake-like to be trusted. Besides, I'd always trust people like Icke_Is_Right that we need to be buying gold over some weirdo who tells you that you should sell it all for easily-spent cash on an ad. :p

THE BATTERY OF BABYLON

Was unearthed in Khujut Rabu, in the ruins of a Parthian village outside Baghdad in 1938 by German archaeologist Wilhelm Konig.
It is a five-inch-long (13 cm) clay jar containing a copper cylinder that its edge was soldered with a 60-40 lead-tin alloy, and bottom was capped with a crimped-in copper disk and held in place with asphalt or bitumen.
Another insulating layer of asphalt sealed the top and also protected an iron bar suspended into the center of the cylinder. This one is known as the Baghdad Battery and is about 2,000 years old. A dozen of other similar batteries were unearthed in Iraq. Most sources date the batteries to around 200 BC - in the Parthian era, circa 250 BC to AD 225. However the Parthians were skilled warriors rather and their scientific achievements were not known. It would appear then that they inherited these batteries from one of the earliest known civilizations. According to the experts, the device after being filled with an acid or alkaline liquid could create an electric charge. It is believed that this old battery might have been used to electroplate silver, but it is only one of the theories. Important is to emphasize that electric batteries were used about 2000 years ago...long before they were invented by Alessandro Volta in 1799.

Think about it - "the philosopher" will have been someone who makes profound comments on life, the universe and everything, and given that they mushrooms themselves look like stones:

there might be some truth to this.:D if you go back to pagans they were in to the whole mushroom thing. and its not like it was recreational when people got high they had some one guide them through their trip and was seen as a spiritual communication with the spirits. mushrooms pop up a lot in folk history ect and i remember reading that they held significance in roman and Greek culture.

500,000 YEAR OLD SPARK PLUG KNOWN AS THE COSO ARTIFACT

Was unearthed in the Coso Mountains, California, while looking for unusual rocks. One of these pieces of rock contained inside remains of some kind of device. Beneath the outer layer of hardened clay, pebbles and fossil inclusions was a hexagonal shaped layer of a substance resembling wood, softer than agate or jasper. This layer formed a casing around a three-quarter inch wide cylinder made of solid white porcelain or ceramic, and in the center of the cylinder is a two millimeter shaft of shiny metal core, about .08 inch (2 millimeters) in diameter. Also, surrounding the ceramic cylinder are rings of copper, mostly corroded. Embedded too in the rock, though separate from the cylinder, are two more man-made items - what look like a nail and a washer. The rock, in which the artifact resembling a spark plug was found, was dated to about 500,000 year old. Those who manufactured this artifact had to possess an advanced technology.

TPTB, are not, truely 'enlightened' if they were, they wouldn't do what they do in the way that they do it, yet they have been, sat on (controlling), for want of a better phrase, 'tools and techniques' as well as different materials, which help them stay at the top of the 'pyramid' as far as this planet is concerned. It also aids them in communicating with other dimensions, but just because they invite 'vampyres' into their homes, they don't fully realise - because of their arrogance - that the vampyres et al. tricked them into an invitation.....
